Just Got Mine! Anker 25W MagGo 2 Pro on iPhone 18 vs 17
I have seen online that the wireless charging speeds are faster on the iPhone 18 Pro Max than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, even though they have the same 25-watt standard, so I wanted to test it out myself. I'm going to run this test with the brand new Anker MagGo Pro 2.
It's important to point out that the iPhone 18 Pro Max has a bigger battery than the iPhone 17 Pro Max
18 Pro Max - 5,567 mAh
17 Pro Max - 5,088 mAh

----- Speed Test ------
I did a speed test with both phones. Not using the phone at all throughout the charge.

----- Temps -----
iPhone 18 Pro Max
Charger Temp - 89° f° or 31.6°c - after 45 min
Phone Temps - 90° f° or 32.2°c after 45 min
iPhone 17 Pro Max
Charger Temps - 94°f or 34.4°c after 45 min
Phone Temps - 93°f or 33.9°c after 45 min
----- Conclusion -----
So, from my testing, YES, there is a pretty substantial difference in the wireless charge test versus these two phones. And as you can see as well, the temperature is lower on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The new iPhone does have a vapor chamber that is 3x bigger, and it really does make a difference when it comes to keeping the phone temperature down, allowing the iPhone 18 Pro Max to keep its higher 25-watt charging speeds longer throughout a charge. So, the 18 does charge faster because of the vapor chamber.
