First Annual r/MLBTheShow 2026 Finest Awards
Which currently existing player cards from this year's game deserve to be remembered as this year’s finest?
Post your top 3 players in MLB The Show 26 in the comments in any order. Any position is eligible. Whether they carried your squad or always came through in the clutch, we want to hear your picks!
Please include the specific card version so we know exactly who you’re voting for.
Voting runs for 10 days, from October 10 through October 20. Once voting closes, I’ll tally the number of times a card is mentioned and announce the cards in order of most votes received. The results and awards will be permanently enshrined on the subreddit!
Early Finest Awards update 10/12/26: Andruw Jones and Nick Sogard are tied for first with 7 votes each! Jesus Made follows with 6, and Yordan Alvarez has 4. So far, 35 counted ballots have produced 99 player votes across 56 different players. Voting remains open through October 20, so there’s still plenty of time to get your top three in!

I was hyped for 99 Suttles the whole year and he barely has over 100 contact to both sides and a lot less power than I expected. That's not even mentioning how they nuked Willard Brown from orbit. These Guys (and gal) are supposed to bring some hype to the game and yet their Diamond Dynasty attributes never seem to be good. It just doesn't make sense that you bring in all these new legends for franchise and DD and they just aren't good most the time

I have joined the Brewers roster after half a season in AA and a season in AAA. In the three teams I feel that while having good rosters (2nd best pitching and top10 defense in AAA, and 7th best team overall in the Brewers) once I join the team starts performing poorly.
With the Brewers we were 2nd in the conference, 30-26, since I joined we are now 32-31. My hitting is good, in just a couple weeks I have a bunch of RBIs, around 0.300 average, no fielding mistakes. But for the last 4 games we have conceded +7 runs on the first two innings, without me playing any defense, so it's not that I make fielding mistakes that lead to the AI scoring against us.
Last four games results:
7-9 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, 1 more in the third inning)
3-12 (11 f*ing runs conceded in the first three innings)
2-8 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, again)
4-11 (7 runs conceded in the first two innings, not only again but third time in four games we concede 3 in the first inning and 4 in the second inning)
It feels like the game is adjusting for my overall (72 at 19yo, 4th prospect overall) or something like that. Is this the regular experience?

I love switching it up every now and then and using cards that are underrated or hated. Val’s vision is low and got dumped on but when I used him and put a Contact/Contact mod on him I was going crazy with him hitting like .700 on HoF and Legend. I’m down to .619 with him right now but I still get excited every time it’s his turn to bat.

As the title says, how do I play as an utility player in rtts? I often get bored playing the same position, and would like to play multiple with the same player, is it possible?

I love Felix but can’t afford the LS collection

The power on this is gonna be cracked...with probably 85 Vision because obviously.

Do we think they get the NLCS Program out today at some point or likely next week since it’s end of the week?
EDIT: Program just dropped.
99 Evan Phillips
99 Kyle Tucker
99 David Hamilton
99 Aaron Ashby
99 Jake Bauers via Postseason Collection

Hey y'all I know the game is kinda dead player count wise but I still like doing the programs and mini seasons and all that fun stuff while watching shows in the background. Anyways I been terrible with opening packs but I'm currently sitting on 39 Regular Choose Deluxe Packs, 7 of the gold ones(forgot what they're called) and 4 ultras. I have most of the collections done only like 2 away from getting Zobrist but I was wondering should I cash these out or you think they'll make one last program utilizing the deluxe packs?

I have gotten MLB The Show pretty much every year and this has to be the worst Franchise in terms of trading players. Scouting is fine and roster management is good. But not being able to tell if a team likes my trade proposals just sucks. I hate having to wait a day or two to see if the trade makes sense for the AI. I like the untouchables additions as there are franchise players that shouldn’t be traded. But last year’s just made it easier and simpler for me.

Probably been asked before, but does anybody else get the feeling that the AI on franchise mode just starts cheating when you’re in a streak. Like out of nowhere great pitchers will hang out breaking balls in early innings, fielders start botching routine balls, swings with good timing and contact either pop up or head directly to an opposing fielder. Am I crazy or is this game messing with me?

I bet now they wish they put better cards into the NLDS.

In mlb 26 rtts, I am having a problem with base running. I’ll b holding the analog down, as if I’m running extra bases, and all the sudden my player will just stop and return to the past base. It’s caused me to get out multiple times. Idk what Im doing wrong. Nothing I’ve searched has talked about this

I’m an average wildcard league player and I play the game casually, and I hate when I break into division series, because you all pitch the same way… inside sinker/outside fastball only! I’m just trying to enjoy playing and yall just suck the fun right out of the game. It can’t even be fun to pitch that way, there’s no challenge… change your ways please.
Sincerely,
Everyone in the wildcard league

Which game between MLB 22,24, and 25 do you Ike the best?

Hurt or not dude has been straight buns for a while now and he’s not pitching. Now they’re adjusting him to a 97?! Tf is SDS smoking?

He is more rare than live series Ohtani (0.01%).

Started a game at 770, thinking I was about to reach World Series the first time ever. I played against a real 99 and won on a walk off home run in the 10th. Legit the most hyped I’ve ever been after a win and…799.
I swear this game to be trolling, definitely losing my next game for sure 😂

Since we're pretty late into the game's lifecycle, I wanted to ask.
At this point, we aren't getting any more new programs or major content drops, right?
I’ve been hoarding my Ultra Packs, Deluxe Packs, and various Choice Packs for a while now... Is it safe to just rip them all open at this point? Or is there any reason to keep holding onto them?
Would love to hear your thoughts/advice!

When did the computer become so good at drafting?
I thought the computer would draft strictly by overall meanwhile I was gonna draft strictly young guys in their early-mid 20s like Henderson, Caminero, Kurtz, PCA, etc but the computer seems to know it should draft younger guys also for franchise longevity.

1) Anyone quitting a H2H hame banned from the game for three years. Children and any future children banned from MLB the Show. Fined $100,000. Ramone comes to your house/apartment and breaks both your kneecaps with a ball peen hammer. Grandmother kidnapped by SDS and forced to spend a year playtesting.
2) Base H2H rewards overwhelmingly on winning individual games, not accumulating stats.

I loaded up Moonshot mini season for easy pitchers and knocked the programs out really fast even just on All Star but play whatever you want
And then just pitch Skenes, Chase Burns, and Yesavage
