I think the art is perfect but I definitely prefer the premise of them being close friends. It's a real type of relationship, particularly as people become adults, and it doesn't get enough shine.
Folks saw a boy and girl across from each other in an intense situation and projected a lot onto it instead of looking at what's really on the page and how things are presented. They respect each other, they're not making eyes with each other.
people are allowed to ship what they want but i just don’t see it at all. they give friend/mutual trauma bond vibes and i’m just kind of tired of every scene that has a woman and a man are eventually shipped if they show even a modicum of care/respect for the other. we know cyclops is coming and kit connor is great so i’m hoping it’ll die down when the mutants get their own films in the coming years.

Just sit tight until 2028. I got to see our new Cyclops do Romeo on Broadway and the man could have chemistry with a rock. And I think the Marvel folks know how ready people are to see him finally done justice. I think a lot of this ship is recency bias plus being the only MCU X-Men content we’ve got at the moment, but as soon as we start getting a look at the rest of the mutants it’ll migrate straight back to fanfic-land from whence it came.
True, he doesn’t own her. But they are linked. In the comics they even have a special telepathic link that only they share, it’s cute. I’m just a big fan of them as a couple, always have been. And we’ve never seen that connection, that special bond, done justice on the big screen. Scott is a broken boy. Lost his brothers, his mom and dad, on top of the brain trauma and just being a mutant trying to survive and make the world safe for others like him. He needs Jean. They need eachother, because he grounds her. If you like the ship that’s fine, I’m just not a fan. Yelena would be better for Petey based off BND.

She's barely 18 at the absolute best, but probably more like 16 or 17.. Peter is, like, 22. 4 year timeskip at the start of the movie. It's weird. Hell, Sadie Sink is 6 years younger than Tom Holland.
It’s not possible that Jean is younger than 18 in the Movie. The Studio will never admit that their golden goose kissed a minor on screen (this is not DCEU). So since they kissed, Jean Grey is an adult.
There is no indication of this. Given the fact that Jean and her *older sister* were both still recently in foster care when the latter was kidnapped, I think it’s unlikely she’s 18 or 19. 16-17 seems more accurate.
The actress playing Sarah was also like ~14 during filming. If they intended for her to be older then they could’ve easily had casted an older actress.
In some areas foster care cuts off at 21 for extreme scenarios, also I could be wrong but I believe it was stated she was in and out of foster care. Personally I think her being closer to his age is dumb because it makes her heinous actions a lot harder to justify but from everything we've seen it points to her being a young adult not a minor
If they did something like this it would really change how Apocalypse is handled by the X-Men. Not saying it as a negative. Would Cable still exist? Would they just change who the father is and the rest is the same?
Not her biological child. I don’t think there’s a term for this. She didn’t give birth, it wasn’t her egg, and she was never pregnant. She would be an aunt or a grandparent depending on your view of cloning lol.

Maddie works for scott because she fundamentally is identical to Jean, even down to their physical DNA and even memories. If he isn’t into Jean it makes no sense putting him with a clone lmao.
The thing I’m talking about in 97 was how they did the Maddie clone swap but made it so you didn’t truly know where they were swapped out, when he was with who, to me that works much better than how it was in the comic when Maddie came in after Jean died. I just love how it is up to interpretation to an extent on when they were swapped and they don’t explicitly say it ever, which also led to Jean character growth of her not caring in the end when she had that final battle with sinister.
The reason Sinister manipulates Scott into getting with Maddie is not because he was previously with Jean though. This plan happens regardless of whether Jean and Scott are into each other.
The reason he wants to get with her is because she is identical to Jean. Obviously sinister would do anything to combine their DNA with his obsession but it makes no sense to force it without treading what was there before.
Sinisters goal was to combine the Summers family DNA with Jean Grey he could make a clone and brainwash her into pursuing Scott and Nathan still makes sense.

Who's to say they aren't? It's just fanart they decided to share. You may not know this, but people can have multiple interests, and those interests don't all have to take up equal space in a person's life
She obviously feels bad and is starting to like him based on their brief interaction. She invited him over, acknowledged that him and Ned really did seem like best friends, the last freaking shot of her in the movie is her sitting on the roof of the high school with the necklace Peter gave her.

I like the actors chemistry and like peter and jean in theory but Jean SA's both him and MJ and for that reason alone the ship objectively doesnt work. The issue with scott and jean is that I am doubtful that the chemistry they will have in the movie is gonna rival tom and sadies.
What? What’s this got to do with Zendaya? I would say the biggest barrier is that Jean Grey and Scott Summers are the romantic couple. They’re not going to deviate from that.
They already said that MCU X-Men will tell different stories than Fox X-Men.
It is highly unlikely that they will do follow this path. Rather Rogue/Gambit this time.
