Meta Testing new AutoMod

Hey everyone.

We are testing a new auto mod, yes using a bit of AI. The only instructions it has are to enforce the current rules, plus some minor nuances.

It will most likely overcorrect, and we can tweak it as we go, and if it is just really bad we can turn it off, but what is most likely to happen is that it will do a good job and a better job than the regular auto mod at catching rule breaking posts, and def better than humans at catching what the regular auto mod missed and posts that have not been reported, and this will lead to a lot more posts being removed which will prob make it feel more heavy handed. So maybe an adjustment period is needed.

If your post was removed, and you have read all the rules and posts related to the rules, and you still think it was removed in error, message us mods with the message the mods button in the sidebar/app. Don't just message us asking why it was removed.

May the odds be ever in your favor, but I, for one, welcome our new robot overmods...

Technique Lucid dream in one 13 days or less(100% begginer friendly).

This changed everything I know abt lucid dreaming reality checks... Basically do a reality check every 10 minutes every day for a week it will work.. And please without a timer and you can either do it mindless or mindfulness... And Also after stopping you can still get lucid dreams

When i did it it was mindlessly and bad and it worked after 5 days for me even the timing was super bad like I wasn't able to remember when to do it..

How to make the technique more powerful:#1use prospective memory... Remind yourself after 10 mins you will do a reality check properly... The way I used it i count 1 2 3 4 5 i will remember to do a reality check after 10 mins.. Or you can use anything to remind yourself but without a timer.. This is super important tk relay heavily on you memory to remember to do it in the dream... If you don't do it it won't work even after a month...

So hope the best for yall.

I've been wondering what experienced lucid dreamers always use to help beginners. For me, it's WBTB with MILD, but I want to see and explore other options.

Experience Lucid dreamed 5 times in a row last night

So before this I have only lucid dreamed twice. When I was younger I wouldn't have believed such a thing to be possible if I hadn't experienced it myself.

Both the times I had lucid dreamed was random and happened on it's own. I had limited control over the dreams.

I have tried several times over the years to follow many techniques and ways in which to do this by myself. But it has NEVER worked. But I haven't stuck too long either.

But since I am always interested in doing it. And I know all the basic things you need to do, I did some things passively. I wasn't remembering any of my dreams at all so I knew I needed to change that. I didn't journal it but I basically told myself I need to pay attention to my dreams and if I dream at all. After a few days I started remembering that I did dream after waking up. I didn't write them but I did try to recall as much as possible.

I didn't perform any dream checks during my waking hours at all.

Last night, I woke up very early. You know how you sometimes just wake up early in the morning then go to sleep? Didn't even open my eyes but I did shift around, make myself comfortable. Then I told myself I am going to dream only once. I had heard to do this in a YT video.

And then I imagined a lot of things. At first I conjured up bad things because my brain was thinking those things (shadowy figures, demons etc). I genuinely got a little scared but I kept going but thankfully my thoughts or dreams turned to other things.

And bang! Inside my dream I was like yeah this is a dream. I was fully aware that I was doing this. I tried to exert control but it was very hard. My control was limited and only happened sometimes.

I would wake up when I would become too aware of my real body. Then I would do it again. Tell myself I am going to dream and enter a lucid dream again.

I did it at least 5 times, could have been more since I don't remember the earlier lucid dreams at all. The very last lucid dream was the longest and also the most vivid. There were so many written signs in my dream. And I knew they would be gibberish so I tried to read them and to my surprise not all of them were gibberish. Don't get me wrong, they weren't written with perfect grammar but some of them were even funny. I just don't remember what they said at all.

I wanted to share this experience, maybe it might help someone out. I am not sure I will be able to do it again but I will try again.

P. S. I also want to share another experience I have had that even I had hard time believing. I don't really tell anyone. But since this is a lucid dreaming sub I think it might be okay.

So one day when I was young (like 13-14 years old). I was sitting on my bed and I thought to myself, what if I blinked and it was morning? So I did exactly that and I scared myself shitless when it did become morning😭. I checked again and again. It was a crazy feeling. I never did it again. I don't think I would be able to anymore. My younger self had better sleep, calmer mind etc.

Another thing I can do is I will tell my mind/body that I have to wake up at 5 am or 4 am or whenever before sleeping again and again. That it's really important. And I always wake up at that time. Human mind can do awesome things.

Those are all the craziest things I have experienced. So that's all from me. Hope this helped or provided an insight.

Day 0 becoming omni lucid

Hey all! This is just a self journal I’m going to keep on my journey to becoming omni lucid(or somewhat close)

TLDR

follow me each day as I gain the ability to have 6 lucid dreams a night.

What do I class as omni lucid?

I would class omni lucid as being able to become lucid in every dream.

How will I do it?

The plan is to use ADA(all day awareness) to constantly be aware of my surroundings, although all day is a bit extreme, I’ll start of with doing checks hourly. The check will consist of a quick surroundings check, thinking about what I’m doing, how I got here and why. Next a sensation check, checking what i feel, smell, taste, hear. Finishing it off with reality check(holding nose and trying to breath, i find this is most reliable) and a final decision on whether I’m dreaming, all of this taking around 1 minute. I’m also going to be making a mark on my hand, to get me to check whenever I look at my non dominant hand.

Now ADA alone will go a long way, but I want to push. Every night I will be doing mild before I go to bed. I will repeat a mantra and relive a moment of me becoming lucid a few times before sleeping. My sleep schedule also consists of no blue light 1 hour before bed, no caffeine 12 hours before, no water 2 hours and no food 3 hours before. I go to sleep the same time and wake up the same time 7 days a week. Getting 9 hours every time. During the 1 hour before bed, I journal, read the lucid dreaming book and meditate for 10 minutes. Morning routine will also include dream recalling. WBTB will not be done due to its effect on sleep and it would not be worth it in the long term(if I’m trying to lucid dream 6 times a night)

As for keeping myself aware, I’ve also decided to complete remove all social media(I’ve done this before, so it’s not a big change) this stops me from scrolling whilst traveling and distracting myself whilst doing other daily activity’s. I want to spend as little time in auto mode whilst not getting mentally drained.

Why document/what will you document?

I like documenting things, getting other peoples opinions and just inspiring is awesome. Also it helps keep track of my progress.

Each day I will give an overview of the night(how many dreams/lucid dreams) and then also how the day went trying to be aware.

What is your starting point?

I’ve been on and off lucid dreams for ages. When I lock in I’m able to have them, although I normally just stop for random reasons.

At this moment in time, I haven’t had a lucid dreams in about a month and I cant recall the dream from last night, the only thing I have is knowledge.

Thanks!

Thanks if you got this far, any questions put them in the comments lol!

Experience Shooting webs during nightmares

Let’s say I was around 13, i had nightmares almost everyday for a long time. I somehow developed a habit to make myself think I can shoot webs like spiderman. It didn’t happen consistently at first but overtime I could shoot webs during my nightmares to pull myself away from the threat and the nightmares weren’t as scary. I can’t change my dream or the scenario. I’ve tried other things like punching hard or a kamehameha. But nothing really worked like the Spider-Man gimmick. I’m 19 now and I used it not so long ago. I’m just curious of the reason why and if anyone else has some sort of mechanism for nightmares.
If I explained this and sorry but I’m just curious and could probably give better detail it questioned. And is this like lucid dreaming or no?

Question Subconscious asked me a question

Some days back I got aware in the dream.

And I immediately shouted out ā€œ I wanna talk to the subconscious ā€œ. A woman came out.

I remembered I should talk about manifestation. And mentioned a specific amount of money asking how to make it and she (subconscious) stared at me back which I could understand that she has no idea what that is or how to do it. Then I stopped asking.

Then she asked me ā€˜what happened to you for 12 years’ and I answered ā€˜I just came out of trauma’. Then I started to wonder why the subconscious didn’t know this.

Did I actually talk to my subconscious? Is that even possible? I’ve no idea…

Can we actually talk to our subconscious or unconscious mind?
if anyone has any experience like this or suggestions please share ā˜ŗļø.

Trying to hold onto a Lucid Dream

• Upvotes

Ive unintentionally had many lucid dreams ever since I was younger. Years ago, I learned how to realize that a dream was a dream to then be able to do whatever I wanted. Same goes for any nightmare. As soon as I see something scary I realize it’s not real then I curl up into a ball, close my eyes, then try to open them without opening them in the dream which always wakes me up.

Nearly half of all my dreams are lucid, but over the past few years, anytime I realize im dreaming, the dream starts to ā€œslip awayā€ and I can feel myself waking up. Ive tried so many different things to stay in the dream, focusing on whats around me, keeping my eyes open, trying to distract myself from the fact that Im dreaming, but it never works. My vision in the dream starts to fade and I wake up. Does anyone else experience this?

Question Is there any actual good lucid dreaming YouTube channels?

• Upvotes

Whenever I look up "lucid dreaming" on YouTube, it's the exact same thing, tutorials on lucid dreaming and that's literally it. It's so hard to find videos that have legitimate discussion and content around lucid dreaming; it's either clickbait or tutorials, that's it. I'm asking this here because I want to know if anyone here knows of legitimate good YouTube channels which make real content about lucid dreaming, past just tutorials and clickbait.

Question Is this lucid dreaming?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, please let me know if there’s a better sub for this, but I thought this was the best place.
I’m a very vivid dreamer and remember most of them. I do lucid dream from time to time, but I’m wondering if there’s another term for these other ā€œtypesā€ I have.
Basically in my dreams, it’s like I can make conscious decisions. I can’t control what’s happening to me-nor do I tell myself I’m dreaming like I would in a full on lucid dream. However, I can still make decisions.
Example from a dream I just woke up from-
I ended up in a shifty part of town and these two guys blocked me off in an alley and made me shuffle through some sort of store. I knew they were either going to try and sell me stuff or they were just up to no good, in my brain I thought ā€˜just tell them you’re a cop, but you don’t give a shit what they’re doing so you can get through without trouble’. I said it and they did let me through, but this lady ended up grabbing my arm and I felt a pin prick.
It’s maybe to note that she was a Native American woman, and I am Native?? Idk
When she did, my brain fully took over and I looked at her and told her I knew she just you injected me with something. she smiled and said ā€œwell everyone should enjoy it once in their lifetimeā€.
I went absolutely feral in the shop and it was like I was consciously deciding to ruin it, break the glass, I was consciously picking the words I wanted to say to her.
The doesn’t seem like I’m truly lucid dreaming unless I’m wrong? Is there a name for it? Ty!

Experience How do you actually wake yourself up from a lucid dream when you’re trapped in a loop of false awakenings?

• Upvotes

I’m a natural lucid dreamer, and I’m almost always aware that I’m dreaming. I know I’m inside a dream, I can control certain things, and I usually know when to wake myself up but I am lately struggling with the how part.

The weirdest part is that I can feel EVERYTHING. Emotions, pain, pleasure, physical sensations, textures… everything feels completely real.

But sometimes, it gets genuinely terrifying.

The other day, I was dreaming that I was petting a deer in my living room. I remember cuddling with it, burying my face into its fur, and feeling how incredibly soft it was against my skin. It felt so real that I could almost describe the texture.

Then I had this moment of realization: Wait, why the hell is there a deer in my living room?

I was suddenly wide awake, but I could STILL feel something pressed up against me, like I was holding an actual animal. I could feel the weight and softness against my body. Must be my cat right, because I could still feel the soft fur against my face.

Then, all of a sudden, my hand dropped, and there was nothing. Just empty air and complete silence.
I genuinely cannot explain how unsettling that felt.
And that wasn’t even the worst part of the night.
I had to force myself to wake up around FIVE TIMES. Every time, I was fully aware that I was dreaming. I knew I needed to wake up, and I would fight my way out of the dream, only to ā€œwake upā€ into what felt like another layer of reality. I was still dreaming. Still aware. Still trying to escape.

How do you usually snap out of these loops?

Experience how i repeat a lucid dream as a beginner

Today I woke up at 10, I watched television until 11, and at 11 I fell asleep again. Then I started dreaming things that I honestly don't remember, but then I remember going to a futuristic city with Arab hospitals and futuristic blue lights, I was highly trafficked and I felt free, since somehow, I managed to see the posters and then turn my gaze and see them again and pum! They had changed, so I knew I was in a dream. The truth is this is a unique experience for me and I would like to repeat it but as I already mentioned, I am a total beginner and I have no idea how to repeat it, if someone wanted to help me I would appreciate it or talk to me about methods that I have heard from some little.

Pd: i got some ai generated images and videos about how that place looks

Had my first prolonged lucid dream but it was profoundly uncomfortable.

I had realized I was in a dream a couple times before and it was really cool at the time but nothing memorable. This time, it started out wonderful with me and my closest besties all ice skating/roller skating as a girls night. It was then I realized I was dreaming and actually started to control my own actions and abilities. After skating, I actually told one of my best friends ā€œHey, this is my dream!!!! I’m dreaming…we’re in a dream!!!!ā€ And responded really happily and enthusiastically towards me being like no wayyyy xd which was honestly so cool. Throughout the entire night and day our friend group walked, talked, did activities. The situations all got increasingly more uncomfortable for me as time went on and it felt like every one of my insecurities started getting picked on and just coming out. This obviously says a lot about what’s going on in my life right now. But I continued to be aware that it was only a dream. I was curious to see what would happen next. A whole 24 hours went by in my dream and that’s what it felt like, because we did so much and met so many people. All while me feeling more and more alienated, having more uncomfortable encounters, and having some of the most unbearably embarrassing things happen to me😹😹 At the end of the dream, I got caught up in one last embarrassing thing and they had left me and gone ahead. I finally got caught up enough to see them from a distance and stopped and thought to myself. ā€œShould I go and see what happens if I confront them? I already know exactly what would happen. I think I’ll just wake up now.ā€ I woke up and looked at the clock and I had experienced a whole day in about 20 minutes. It’s been the strangest feeling to understand where I am and feel time pass and understand your feelings and remember every single detail of it, only for it to have been 20 minutes. Never felt anything like it. I feel exhausted and weird. I could have written this in my journal but my phone is handy and I will tomorrow. I also think comments are helpful. Thanks for listening.

Lucid dreaming

Hey all first timer here. Would like to say I’ve been following this community and its ideas for a while now, I’ve had a handful of lucid dreams and some I was actually able to control, I still remember my first one and it was freaky to say the least with how I remember it not in a bad way or anything lol. Then the second time I realized I was in a dream, I closed my eyes to wish for something to happen and that caused me to wake up, I was so pissed off I actually gave up after that lmao. But recently past week or so. I managed to have my realization of a dream being a dream, but sadly it was more towards the end as a few minutes after I realized it was a dream I woke up. Then a couple days after that I had another lucid dream, this time was definitely a lot more vivid than the last ones. As I distinctly remember key points. Point is, if I want to keep doing this. How do I keep going and keep trying what are some tips you guys have? Mind you I haven’t even tried any of the techniques yet I was still able to realize it was a dream and gain control. Thank you!

I'm looking for a LD buddy to talk, discuss, train or hangout with

Hey guys, i'm new on reddit here. Started lucid dreaming seriously this year since Jan and since then i've had 2-6 lucid dreams every month. However, I kind of have a wonky dream control, my LDs are very short, and the time gaps in between my LDs take days to weeks, which can be demotivating. But I have a decent dream recall, I can have 1-2 dreams per night. I want to talk to someone who can help me with this..

I practice reality checks every day, setting myself reminders to enter a lucid dream, have tried methods such as MILD, SSILD, WILD, and WBTB. The first 3 are a hit or miss for me but WBTB gives me a guaranteed dream and most of my lucids are DILDs.

I'm available anytime for a chat as long as someone is willing to have like a LD student or have LD experiments with me.

Experience Very weird experience last afternoon, need someone to explain

Everything iill tell you will be memory based and not 100% accurate:

i have had from last afternoon to now something insanely weird.after coming home from hunting,i had lunch and took an afternoon nap.when i woke up,i had not had a dream.okay.then,as always in an afternoon nap,you sleep and wake up back and forth in small time intervals,so,i kinda slept, and as i slept i was in a dream which i can barely remember, then i somehow became lucid by a reality check, but it wasnt full control ,i tried to perform actions, but the dream briefly ended.i was still not fully asleep.u will understand why.RIGHT after the dream ended, the screen became black and i was watching the void blackness, and in the coming seconds, ill start to see the appearance of a black man, first an outline, but i saw the colors and background form in front of my eyes, like the WILD technique promises, except it was RIGHT after a first lucid dream and it took seconds and it was like i was watching a movie, not commanding it.i was kinda scared while this was happening, because i was conscious all throughout,i tried to stay calm.the lucid dream started, but again,it was chaotic,no full control.i tried to do stuff, couldnt.then i think i remember waking up,weirdly not confused, excited or weirded by any of this, then i think i slept again.a day later,im remembering all this.i dont have many details.do i put them in my journal?

Question Sleep Space Preferences & Lucid Dreaming Research

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this is allowed here (mods can remove it if necessary), but I'm conducting research on Lucid Dreaming and Sleep Environments as part of a uni major project, and would like to share the link to a survey:

It's short - only 2-3 minutes and would help greatly in my research. Thank you!

Question Does visualizing or imagining a space in the mind within a dream count as lucidity?

I have been practicing lucid dreams for a long time, and it hasn't happened to me yet, but each time I remember the dreams more clearly, but last night something very curious happened to me, I dreamed that I was in the old house where I lived, and I was with my grandparents, I remember that my grandfather told me to imagine what the house was like before, that is, the one from years ago and well I remember that I did it, within that dream I was able to visualize how in my mind while dreaming I could see and remember what the old house was like, and then I I woke up very excited and a little sad about it.

Experience Lucid dreams ruined by snoring

With such difficulty and patience, I finally had the opportunity to take advantage of a lucid dream, and then a snore of my own wakes me up. The doctor tells me to lose weight and make requests, so I have to.
