Official Notice šŸ•Šļø Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about ā€œlow-effortā€ posts — just to clarify:
āž”ļø We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. šŸŒ™

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

A Message To Everyone Who Is New

This link contains information about common misconceptions about Astral Projection, please read it:

https://www.reddit.com/r/AstralProjection/comments/ayq2zo/the_same_questions_keep_being_aksed_over_and_over/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated šŸ’›

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

Was This AP? Odd memory

This memory has never left me. I was about 4 or 5 years old when I experienced something I still can’t explain.

I remember suddenly being up near the ceiling, looking down at my own body. I was sleeping next to my mom, and I could see both of us lying there.
When I looked up, I saw what looked like a portal in the ceiling. It was almost as if the portal had opened, dropped me into the room, and then closed behind me. I remember slowly floating downward toward my body until I eventually entered it. As soon as I did, I felt this strange tingling sensation throughout my body.

I immediately woke up, looked at the ceiling, and thought, How did I just do that?
I’m 34 now, so this happened almost 30 years ago, yet I remember it so vividly, as if it happened yesterday.

And I know people might say it was just a dream, but I know what I experienced. To this day, I’ve never forgotten a single moment of it.

Or are we instantly reincarnate and dont have a memory what had happen?or we go back home? Or we meet god?

Almost AP'd and/or Question Hit the vibrational stage and buzzing, but got completely stuck trying to exit (Rope / Rollout failed). Need advice from experienced projectors!

Hey everyone, looking for some insights or tips from people who have gotten past this barrier.

Earlier today I woke up in the middle of the night, got up to use the bathroom, and went back to sleep (unintentional WBTB). After having a regular dream, my mind suddenly snapped wide awake and completely alert, but my body stayed frozen in that state where you just don't feel like moving at all.

Almost immediately, the classic vibrational stage kicked in. If you saw my post from a few days ago about that high-pitched tinnitus / ringing sound, it was back full force—it felt like it was everywhere around me and inside my head while this was happening.

Realizing what was going on, I tried to induce the exit:

* Tried the rope technique repeatedly.

* Switched to trying to simply lift/roll my subtle body out.

Nothing happened. I didn't separate. Instead, the physical strain seemed to bleed over—after trying so hard, my breathing became really heavy and vigorous, and my physical body started feeling hot and flushed, almost like I had just gone for a run. Eventually, the state just faded.

For those who have been through this stage:

* How do you overcome the "stuck" feeling? Did I push too hard with active effort instead of letting it happen?

* Breathing/Heart rate spike: How do you keep your physical autonomic response (heavy breathing, heat) from pulling you out when attempting exit techniques?

* What subtle tricks or alternative separation cues worked best for you when the rope or lifting methods stall out?

Any advice would be massively appreciated!

OBE Confirmation My first out-of-body experience as a non-spiritual person.

I have seen many posts and accounts from people who have experienced astral projection, but they usually come from individuals with a great deal of experience in the subject people who often gloss over the actual process of the soul separating from the body. For this reason, I would like to share the details of my own experience, while emphasizing that I have never been a spiritual person, I do not follow any religion, and I was previously unaware that such a thing even existed though I am currently looking into the topic.

On the afternoon of August 26, 2026, after putting it off for a long time, I decided to go outside and draw from life. It was something I'd wanted to do, but I was always too embarrassed. Since I was in my hometown, I went out into the countryside to draw alone. I found a shady rock where I could sit, and since I only had a mechanical pencil and an eraser, I decided to draw an almond tree. While I was focused on my drawing, I was also aware of my surroundings. There was a group of birds playing amongst themselves in the trees, until suddenly they fell silent and became startled. When I looked up, I saw a peregrine falcon fly overhead. I could see the feathers on its chest and its little legs in detail, it was thrilling for me.

At dusk, I decided to head home; I had dinner with my family and spent some time talking with them that evening. Around 1:00 a.m., I went to sleep. As I drifted off, I first had a dream (the typical, nonsensical kind where nothing remarkable happens) and then, I "woke up" into another dream. In this second dream, I was in my bedroom, lying in bed in the exact same position I was actually in at that moment (on my side, facing to the right). The atmosphere was warm and cozy. In front of me stood a white esparto-grass chair (a real piece of furniture from my room) with a mirror resting on it. Through the mirror, I could see the room around me: I saw myself lying there, facing the mirror, and I also saw my aunt asleep on a mattress on the floor. In the background, my mother was standing and folding sheets, and on the chair, next to the mirror, lay my mobile phone, showing two messages from friends of mine.

I felt very calm and at peace, I was quite comfortable, so I closed my eyes to drift back to sleep. However, I woke up in real life and began to feel a vibration in my head that grew increasingly intense. At the same time, I noticed my body gently rising (I should mention that I was lying on my side, facing to the right). I felt my body lose contact with the mattress and the pillow, and I could feel the bedsheet tightening as I ascended. Behind my back, there was a sense of significant movement in the room, it felt like wind, though it lacked the chill one typically feels from a breeze outdoors. I also heard what sounded like several small bells being shaken vigorously behind me. My body rose to a height of about one meter. At first, I was frightened, thinking it might be sleep paralysis, but I soon realized it wasn't; instead, I felt a surge of excitement at the fact that I was floating. Eventually, in my excitement, I managed to descend gently until I returned to my body. I got out of bed, it wasn't a dream, as I was already fully awake and sat there for a few minutes, trying to process what had just happened. At that moment, I kept thinking of my body as a very fragile shell. Yet, despite how strange the situation was, it didn't feel entirely unsettling, it was as if I had done this many times before; it was something I already knew. It’s very hard to describe—apologies for not being able to explain it better. Since then, I’ve made several attempts at astral projection, though none have gone as far as that first experience. I’ve also begun meditating using the *Gateway Experience* audio tracks, and during these sessions, I’ve been able to visualize images in my mind with great clarity.

I would like to analyze the dream I had that day and try to understand why it happened to me, because ever since then, I have been unable to simply turn my head, walk on by, and carry on with my life. I cannot stop thinking about that day, searching for some kind of answer. (Sorry for my English, I’m from Spain).

General AP Info / Discussion Thought on this sleep paralysis demon thing attacking me?

It’s been about 9 years since this happened and I’ll never forget any details of it, it’s always been engrained so vividly in my head. This is the first and only sleep paralysis experience I’ve ever had in my life (32m).

9 years ago I was in my first year of uni in the UK. I was staying in a dorm/halls (in the US it’s dorms in the UK they call it halls) and I was partying quite a bit at the time as you would in your first year of uni. I had a small room to myself with a desk like a meter from my bed and a small en suite bathroom.

Anyways so I start dreaming and I was in some pool complex kinda thing walking around and there was this guy playing pool/billiards, and he say me and I could tell he just didn’t like me, like he gave me a menacing look. And as I was walking around he would be following me like not too close by but following me nonetheless. Couldn’t see his face too well but was like a shadowy black figure.

Next thing I know I’m in my bed in my room and everything is as is, the chair to my desk is pulled out a little with a sock on it, random stuff on the floor like a jacket and my pants, all furniture is literally exactly as is in real life it was literally my room as it was at the time. And the guy is ontop of me screaming at my face super angry, like not saying any words but just doing angry yells and smacking me and I literally can’t move (I am a Muay Thai fighter idk if that influenced anything). And after smacking me a few times and yelling he pulls out a deodorant spray and a lighter and starts spraying fire at my face flamethrower like and at this point I get the feeling ā€œI’m going to freaking die, screw that I’m not gonna let him kill meā€ and I literally used every fibre of my living power to bust out of that paralysis and reach for his neck with my left hand and my right arm is cocked ready to throw a punch at this dudes face.

Then bam, he just disappears, and I’m in my bed sitting upright with my left hand reaching infront of me (where his neck was supposedly) and my right arm still cocked ready to throw a punch, room is exactly as is.

Never had a sleep paralysis experience after that or saw him again. I like to joke that he visited me once and saw that I’d break out and smack him back and decided ā€œscrew this I’m not messing with this dude againā€ haha

Also I sometimes throw punches and kicks in my sleep, like with good technique I’ll rotate my hips while throwing a Muay Thai kick in my sleep and wake up confused lmao

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Tips for light sleepers/ fast awakeners

Hi all, hoping for some help please. I’ve learnt about Astral projection/ Reality Shifting for about a year and a half now. Without a full separation so far.

I do appreciate Astral Projection and Reality Shifting are different, I am only mentioning it because I want to AP so I can shift.

I am trying to follow the Michael Raduga method of sleeping for 5-6 hours then waking up for 20 mins. The trouble is, I’m either a super heavy sleeper and miss my alarm or I am a super light sleeper and the minute it goes off I’m wide awake. A bit of insomnia tbh.

I am just wondering what people do to mitigate this? I have tried adjusting the timings so instead of 6hrs, I do it at 3/4/5 hours. And also I tried a cheap smartwatch too to vibrate when the alarm goes off on my wrist. I just haven’t been so successful.

I am just wondering, if anyone has any helpful tips that has helped them, to help me.

I don’t go to the bathroom/ drink water when I wake up, just because then I am too awake. When I do wake up at the alarm mark, I am like ā€œwide awakeā€ so I have been trying to basically not lift my head up to turn the alarm off so I can try and sleep… and I end up just falling asleep. Basically my margin window is incredibly short.

Any tips? Thank you šŸ™ ✨

Almost AP'd and/or Question Getting even closer

last night I did an attempt and I figure that if I separate my astral arms first that it’s easier, so I did that last night and about what felt like 20mins later I felt like I was ejected from my body before being quickly reeled back in. It felt weird but it was still super cool.

New to AP First experience Astral Projecting

Hey, niche subreddit!

I've recently been curious about Astral Projection, I had always been aware of it but I came here to ask some questions.

Regarding the sensory side of APing, what does it feel like?

Is it sort of vague and blurry and up to interpretation, like a lucid dream? Or does it feel "realer than real"

My other question is more simple, what was your first experience like aping? Did you use any methods or did it happen spontaneously

General Question Astral projecting to data centers?

I saw a post in a group I’m in and this person claims they projected to a data center and there were grays there controlling the ai. They said one of the grays spotted them and they were scared back into their body. I’m just curious if anyone else had seen anything similar? Anyone willing to check out a data center and report back your findings? šŸ˜‚

Question on How to AP Need help guides will be more helpful

So hello everyone.

So i wanted to do AP but idk how to do it and i don't even know the steps to achive AP and i did actually read some tutorials about how to achive AP but that tutorials never worked on me. And i wanted to ask another question, some people say they felt they're soul left they're body and there was a rope attached to they're soul and the body. And they did explore freely and even visited places they never visited in person. And most importantly they explored spaces and they saw some entities idk about entities tho. So my final question is What's the setup and tutorial to achive AP.

Was This AP? Weird experience!

I'm a newbie.. I get the vibrations and stay in the "body rested and my mind awake" situation for a while and it starts to get pitch black and I see some lights. Then it disappears. And when I turned around to change my position, it happened again, but quicker than the first time. The same pitch black scene followed by lights. But this time I heard a husky voice Screaming. I was so scared and my heart was beating so fast. I couldn't open my eyes nor move even an inch of my body. Then I don't remember what happened in between..then I saw myself sitting in my classroom on the same desk I sit. I wore my school uniform and everything was literally the same outfit of how I go to school. But my face and body were replaced with a dark shadow figure, sitting completely still.. I panicked and tried to scream but I couldn't. My mom was sleeping next to me and tried to wake her up, I reached my hand to wake her up and I thought I was waking her up but it was like an illusion! Like something else's arm were replaced and the thing's other arm was like grabbing my right arm. And I somehow managed to wake up.

This was my closest experience to AP I assume.. it was so weird that I couldn't stop thinking about it for a couple of days. I tried to be as calm as possible and tried to keep my heart rate at normal but that scream freaked me out and couldn't focus on keeping myself calm..

Need Tips / Advice / Insights I feel like I shouldn’t be doing this .

I was staying at an apartment once upon a time , and I was in the top floor so I felt like I was really close to the sky because it was also a corner room . Anyway, I would always feel like something was watching me .

Anyway , I got a laser projector and galaxy dome thingy , the thing that projects the galaxy onto your ceiling and walls .
I would put it in the window sill cause it made me feel like I was blending the stars and my ceiling , and plus that’s just the way it worked out when I set it up , and it’s easy for me to find the smallest things to be special .

Anyway , I believe in Jesus and I was trying hard to go to church , but I wasn’t feeling truly accepted in the community so I was having a hard time at the time . Well when I lived there I always felt like there was a motherly presence over me , and it’s been like this for a while . I’ve had experiences where I’ve seen the ā€œmother in the sky ā€œ best way I can describe it ,so I’ve started to associate the spiritual side of things with space as well , I only say this because while I was looking at the sky I could feel something looking back at me . That and I felt like the star lasers shooting into the night sky from my projector was drawing attention .

Anyway , one night while I was sleeping I closed my eyes and then immediately thought that my phone went off then I saw a black orb floating above my hand. It didn’t have eyes , but we definitely made eyes contact , then as soon as I saw it , it collapsed in on itself . It was the wildest shit I’ve ever seen in the physical plane to date . I’m only asking to see if anyone can help me understand what I’m experiencing. I’ve posted in other subs , but didn’t get much of a response . Of course .

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Can the mental illness affect your progress towards astral projection?

I have an anxiety disorder so I do meditation during my attempts as I have heard from travellers that calmness in the mind is also crucial as in the body. I can often times find myself falling in & out of the mediative state also due to my overthinking and it can often feel like I'm doing myself a disservice by just having those disorders. What do you think how i should go about it? Also if you're interested in what I do to get myself to AP I'll list it now what I do.

Steps:

1-soldier position, palms turned outwards (apparently it helps with strengtnkng your intention)

2-not move a single inch but keeping my mind awake. Which is fairly easy as my mind is hyperactive.

3-this is where I struggle because anxiety creeps in. My mind wanders off many times unintentionally and starts thinking of things or reliving events that causes nervousness. I get tensed up , still not moving. And it can get uncomfortable due to pressure anxiety creates for my body.

4-i get myself back towards mediative state.

5-tingles, body numbness and this strange feeling of awareness where my eyes are locked into looking at the darkness my eyelids create.

6-feeling of levitating, body twitches & seeing light shapes with my eyes.

7-i get bored and then nervous again then give up because of how long it took & that I'm most probably doing something wrong and am wasting time trying it this way. I'd spend around an hour doing this many times thought the week and idk if I'm doing something wrong, if I need to push through it, or the technique is just not for me. What are your thoughts ?

General Question What experiences convinced you consciousness is not something the brain generates?

Title. What experiences did you have that convinced you that AP is not just some clever hallucination made by your brain like science says?

What do you think of materialists that try dismissing any non-physical experience you have just because they think it happened inside your head?

I’ve seen lots of materialists shut down anyone that proposes the idea that consciousness can work independently of the brain pretty harshly, by stating what they said sounds too convenient without evidence.

But my problem is, how are you going to attain evidence for something you don’t believe in if you don’t give it a chance to be understood without the tools we frequently rely on?

The Hard Problem of Consciousness exists for a reason. No one should claim enough certainty to rule things out like that if they have an incomplete understanding of it.

AP / OBE Guide Did I accidentally astral project ?

I have had a dream so different than anything before I am trying to figure out what the hell happened.
I am not into astral projection but came to the conclusion that its probably that after researching what I have experienced.
I had a dream about the vampire diaries (I havent watched it in a long time) where I was on a mission on some sort with Bonnie I think.
I had two Small Sticks I had to break in order to complete my mission but I was very unsure if it was the right thing to do so I asked bonnie, Then came the scariest shit ive ever seen she looked at me strange said she knew what to do then walked with me somewhere... There was the character Klaus lying down unconcious, she told me I had to lay down I said in my dream hell no and wanted not to do it she said I HAVE TO NOW or I cant and I felt pressured and lied down and I never experience something like that in my entire 21 years it was like I was hallucinating just beam as I lied down I had like multiple waves going through my body almost like a shock I came out of my body and my ears hurt there was a stange noise which was the weirdest then it was extremely loud like my head was about to explode.
I was out of my body for some seconds it didnt feel good I felt like something went terribly wrong. There were shortly multiple copies of people floating around (might have been me Idk) with so many whispers and overlaying sentences of people things I know from irl.
Then woke up in the dream out of body for a milisecond and she said were never speaking about this again and I woke up immediately. My heart was racing and for half an hour I couldnt sleep.

I did some research and found that people who want to master ap experience this but also it lasts longer for them for me some seconds. I dont know if I believe this I found some neruologic explanation that your brain goes into fight or flight mode because your pulse is going too high and trying to pull you out of your dream. what is strange I also read that your body is asleep but your mind is concious idk if I was really consious I just know I felt something is wrong and wanted to wake up towards the end of it… Has anyone experienced something similar, particularly the intense vibrations, loud noises, and brief out-of-body sensation?

Positive AP Experience involuntary AP

hello so much love for you all you’ve helped me in my hardest moments .

I seen some post about how people have involuntarily AP !

mediatate on this quote

the same waters that make mystics surf will drown you .

all the bs you face on the ap realm will involve different reactions but there is always a relaxed version of you towards all problem in AP !

Iv been AP pretty much nightly for a year now this my advice .

The second you AP you are signing up in the fine print for spiritual evolvement on drugs steroids and aggressive spiritual growth .

in the early stages that will manifest as AP involuntary for a while over time as you learn the ā€œprogramā€ into your nervous system it will mellow out and you can audibly ask for AP and ask AP to stop at will.

Sometimes guides and friends on the other side don’t have concept of time and work and friendships and they will speak without that concept !!

OVER TIME you can regulate and say not tonight I have a 6 am shift I can’t travel I need to focus at work ! And they will honor that however in the first several months sometimes years no !

but focus on your spiritual evolvement . This is shit
Makes MONKS hide themselves in a forest for years to master or even attempt, your on a Reddit server complaining . Have some reverence to what you just invented into yourself .

However … learn your lessons fully you’ll be gliding on water šŸ§ššŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

New to AP Almost there in the first week

Hey, So i have started on this journey. I learnt about all the techniques so started practicing.

Day 1 : nothing happened

Day 2: I tried around 4 Am after waking up. Nothing happened for around 10min, then I was feeling sleepy but kept telling myself to be awake, i immediately went to my old home where I grew up. I flew over it for some time but somehow I was afraid to go beyond my house, suddenly I heard my wife voice calling me, i immediately woke up and found my wife was sleeping peacefully. I don't know whose voice it was then ?

Day 3, 4 : nothing happened, i simply went to direct sleep even after I tried waking up around 3 Am.

Day 5: Today I prayed to God and my guardian angels to help me AP before I slept like a small affirmation. Around 3 AM I woke up and thought of trying again, but after about 15-20 min I gave up and went to sleep. I don't know how long, I heard the voice of a small girl " wake up, look at the room". My initial thought was it was my daughter's voice, i woke up but soon realized it wasn't my daughter's voice, it sounded a voice with the excitement of a 3-4 year old. Suddenly I found something is getting up from my belly. It went up probably 5-6 inches and the went back. It happened 2-3 times. I tried the roll-on technique and rope techniques but to no avail. After a few minutes my body also got awake. Note that I didn't feel any vibrations at all.

I think I am close but let's see how it goes. Although I don't feel any vibrations like most of the people. I am also not sure what those voices are.

Question on How to AP Its not itchy it's weirdly uncomfortable!

Hey guys, I recently decided I wanted to AP and everything was going fine when I held my body from moving, I managed to stay awake for around 10 minutes bypassed the itching phase by focusing on any other thought and visions, but then a VERY uncomfortable feeling fleets my body! I would get too uncomfortable I tried to not focus on it but it felt weird and I felt so stuck ( not sleep paralysis) but I had to move, I dont know how to explain it with words it just feels bad and I know I have to move or do anything! Which is what I eventually did. And slept on my side- till the next morning!

Do you have any advice?

In the past I used to bypass these phases and wake up in the sleep paralysis stage ( I did OBE but remember fragments of them not the full experience) Now I am back on it any advice?

I didn't write down my past experiences but I am taking the initiative to do so now.

Professionals and those who successfully AP is there any possible way to Also bypass the uncomfortable phase

General AP Info / Discussion Does anyone else become intensely sexual during astral projection?

Lately, or in the past year, I’ve had very strong sexual drives in the astral plane. It’s interesting because in my waking life, I’m not a very horny person. I’m not, or I wouldn’t say I’m asexual. I don’t think I’m asexual. But it’s not something that I tend to imagine will lead to an enjoyable outcome. So I kind of avoid it, but I’m working on that.

Anyways, I want to better understand why this happens, and I’ve heard that, or read someone mentioning that it’s a sort of test or challenge that a spiritual person has to undergo to explore the far-reaching planes of the astral universe by overcoming this base sexual urge. And I don’t know whether that’s necessarily correct, but it does make me wonder, and I have felt bad after my experiences, when sort of regretting the fact that I resorted to pleasuring myself instead of, I don’t know, going down a space or exploring something more unusual and magical, I guess.

One of the earliest instances of this that I can recall is when I astral projected at my partner’s place while he was away. When I exited my body, I immediately felt desirous, so I called in and tried to attract or manifest something to have sex with. I wanted it to be my boyfriend, and something showed up, which felt very neutral, had very neutral energy. It didn’t feel like it was eager to engage with me, but I was eager to engage with it, so I mounted it, and it kind of had some sort of a rod thing that went inside me, and I orgasmed.

I felt a little bad after, like maybe it didn’t want to do it with me, and I sort of raped it, but it had such a neutrality to it that perhaps it just didn’t mind what happened at all. Maybe it didn’t get anything out of it.

And the thing is, I don’t really know what the astral realm is, if it’s a real place with sentient sovereign beings, or if it’s all a place in my mind. Even if it’s somehow a bad thing that I’m just doing sexual things there. And if it’s real, is it dangerous? And if it’s not, what does it have to say about my psychology?

Another instance is when I projected at my partner’s again. And the reason it happened at my partner’s again is because I feel particularly safe in his space to be in the spirit world, because he has consecrated the space from entities of dark and ill intent. I don’t really know how strong that spell is by now, but it might just work.

Anyways, of course, the desire was there, and I was by his window, and I was going to go outside, and this fae appeared, and I felt very attracted to her, but then she bit me, and she had these really sharp spiky teeth, and I didn’t like it. It felt like a malicious tease.

So I casted her away somehow, or she flew away on her own means. I don’t really remember this one so well. I just remember being excited that this beautiful fae girl was there and that I had enough desire to try something with her, but it did not end up going well. I feel a little guilty about that.

Other times I’ve just masturbated, like laid on the floor, masturbated, and it felt amazing, just so amazing. Even when I don’t exit my body but I’m in that state, I can just imagine myself just curating the sensations with my mind, like lucid dreaming them happening, and it’s felt amazing.

I do want to talk about a recent experience that has left me pondering if there’s something wrong with me, though. And I want to share it because I hope that I can get some insight from others, and I don’t want to tell anyone else I know about it.

The story is, I projected very recently. It was spontaneous, and of course the desire was there. And I guess the desire is just this knowing of how enjoyable sexual pleasure is in this realm, how open I am to it, how powerful it feels compared to the real world.

In my waking life, it’s such a challenge for me to have an enjoyable experience. All the insecurities that I feel and the various struggles I have with it are just not… they’re not there. And I just have this full force of desire that once it touches a living being that is at least willing, it feels so amazing, and that is just incredibly tempting to me considering how difficult it is for me in my waking life.

So I’m out of my body, I’m in my room, and I go into the main part of my house.

My roommate.

I feel interested to go to my roommate’s room just to see her. We’ve been friends all our life, and I felt like she would be a good person to do it with because she’s so beautiful, and I like her so much. And perhaps maybe I have this sort of unaddressed attraction to her, and one that I don’t really want to address because I cherish our friendship, and I don’t want to potentiate the complications of romance with her.

So I go to her room and she’s in her bed, and I’m basically somehow telepathically telling her, ā€œHey, I really want to have sex with you. Are you down?ā€

And she’s very neutral.

And then I look to her side where her unspoken self is there, and I ask her too, and I’m like, ā€œAre you down? Is this okay if I do this with you?ā€

And she says yes, quite meekly, but at least it’s a yes.

So I go in with her, and she doesn’t really try to do anything. She’s just open, and feels amazing. But for some reason, her nipple was extremely hairy, like a really bushy pubis bush was on her nipple, and it really was, like, gross to me, but I tried to put it off.

And yeah, it felt really good, but it didn’t really lead anywhere because that was distracting to me, and I felt guilty, like maybe I was assaulting her. But maybe I wasn’t because she could just be a figment of my imagination. At least I hope that’s the case. Hopefully this had no real impact on her.

However, I have been feeling sort of ashamed.

Which reminds me, this wasn’t the first time. The first time was when she was in my room, and I did it with her. I don’t remember how much she wanted to do it in that case either. And I don’t remember if it even felt good. But I felt guilty about that time as well. I think it was quite brief, and then I ended up exploring outside our house.

But yeah, I’m curious if anyone else has this sort of polarized situation. And I’m curious on people’s take on this sort of extreme sexuality situation. Like, should I just get over it? But at the same time, it’s very satisfying to myself.

But I do worry if it’s harmful to myself or these entities or my friend, if it’s real, a real spirit world where my friend is, that’s her real spirit, and I’m somehow hurting it. I hope not. It makes me feel like I’m assaulting it or something.

OBE Confirmation Newbie introduction, looking for evidence

Hello all, I apologize if my flair is wrong, I wasn't sure which one to use for this.

Anyway, I'm new to all of this. I started by dabbling is Magick and I've been looking for ways to improve my faith in things like this and the occult because I'm what I refer too as an open minded skeptic. I'm a skeptic, but I'm willing to change my views if given a good enough reason.

Astral Projection seems like a good candidate. However, I am familiar with lucid dreaming and in the past I always dismissed Astral Projection as nonsense, reasoning that people were just lucid dreaming.

Does anyone have any experiences they can share which absolutely cannot be dismissed as lucid dreaming? Things like witnessing things they were able to strongly confirm in the waking world, etc?
