I’m looking for a controller with an Xbox-style button layout (A/B/X/Y), direct Bluetooth connectivity (no USB dongle), and full SteamOS support, including easy navigation of Steam menus and quick settings using the central button.

Please don’t suggest the Steam Controller, as it’s not available yet. I’ve been waiting for it since May, and honestly, the wait is getting a bit too long!

I’ve just got a refurbished Lenovo Legion Go 8APU1 Ryzen Z1 Extreme, but I’m a little confused on how the carrying case works.

What is this plastic piece on the back? I can pull it off but I genuinely don’t understand what it is used for. The same goes to the little hole just besides it.

Hi, I purchased a LEGO with Z1 extreme on eBay about a week ago for £320. It's got some sort of issue where the controller doesn't register, I've reset and done driver updates as well as windows. Recently I saw from some research that if you open the legion space app it registers so I do that before playing anything now. (Also the top right RB button is a tiny bit sticky compared to the LB button) - device was listed as perfect with no issues.

Just wondering if it's something the seller would have known or if it's a different issue and if I should return it.

I'm big fan of first Control. I’ve just finished Control Resonant on my Legion Go S Z1E. I highly recommend it — the gameplay is great and the graphics look awesome. Plus, it looks even better with HelixSR than with FSR 4. At native resolution with DLSS set to Performance, it runs like a dream. I’ve put 50 hours into it, and I think I’m going to start NG+ as well.

I’m really happy with my Legion Go S. It’s amazing that a device like this can run the latest games so well without any issues.

I’ve noticed recently while playing FPS games (both Borderlands and Wolfenstein) that my character will fire the gun out of the blue. It seems to correlate with moving the right joystick though I haven’t been able to fully replicate it. It’s happening pretty often though and it’s quite annoying. Anyone have a fix for me? Thanks!

Briefly, I'm not sure if this is a quirk of the Go 2 with USB hubs or if it's the hub itself failing after a year of use... so please let me know if anyone else has experienced the same

The issue: when the hub is powered, my devices connected to it will intermittently lose connection. These devices are not power intensive, in fact they are just two dongles. One for my headset, one for my gamepad.

The regularity of the disconections increase as the hub gets hotter (at least that is my assumption).

Simple as that, and very annoying 😄 any takers?

p.s. I wondered if it was some power management thing bugging out with the Go 2. Changing the USB 'allow Windows to sleep device' settings in device manager didn't fix anything.

Hi I bought the Legion Go S today and have been trying to just install a web browser in desktop mode however the discovery app is completely frozen and doesn't load anything so I can't install any browsers or apps. I have tried resetting internet and Konsole commands I found through googling the issue however nothing seems to work. Has anyone else had a similar problem and if so how did you fix it? I don't really want to have to go through a refund process but if I can't get this working I will have to.

I’ve had the ps portal for over a year and my biggest issue with it was the screen and low bitrate. Got the urge to play GTA IV again and didn’t want to build a whole pc so I got on eBay bought this for £700 Z2e version still has warranty and I haven’t been able to drop it since wondering why I didn’t get it sooner. Only complaint is it came with 512gb but I’ve ordered a 990Pro 4TB. Having a blast on Mortal Shell 2 now

So I've only been using steam for the past 9 months on my Go S. I recently picked up The Division to play through again. I play a little bit almost every day and every single time I boot up my Go S it downloads and completes a patch for The Division. Sometimes like 250kb, sometimes a few mb. But it's literally every time I boot the system. Is this normal? The downloads always complete, never give errors.

I’m looking for recommendations for a good dock and controller for my Lenovo Legion Go S Z1 Extreme running SteamOS.
Controller:

I’m looking for a controller with a button layout as close as possible to the Legion Go S controls. I’d rather avoid PlayStation controllers because I’m not used to their button layout and I’m worried I’ll get confused.

I was considering the new Steam Controller, but it’s currently listed for 2027. Does anyone know when it’s actually expected to release? I’d love to get one, but I don’t really want to wait that long, as I’d like to start using my Legion Go S as my main gaming device and eventually replace my PS5.

Are there any good alternatives with a familiar button layout that work well with SteamOS?

Dock:
I mainly play in handheld mode, but I’d also like a dock for occasional TV gaming. I don’t need anything too fancy, just something reliable that works well with the Legion Go S and SteamOS.

What would you recommend for both the controller and the dock? Any models I should avoid?

A few months ago my Legion Go 2 started making me reset my PIN every time I turn it off and turn it back on. I switched to fingerprint and it gives me the option to sign in with fingerprint and never actually allows me to use it or it just doesn’t work. I also have a line that shows up on sign in on the right side of my screen.

I got this last December and had issues with a dead pixel in the screen. I sent it in for warranty work which took several months because they had to order the screen. I received it back with a broken controller and the case back popped on awkwardly and bowed out and screws not placed / threaded correctly.

The thing works fine but having to sign in constantly and reset my PIN which only seems to work if I have Internet is really starting to get annoying. Because of my job I don’t always have access to Internet in my building and so sometimes it renders my device useless.

I’m thinking about trying to return it to Costco where I originally purchased it as I’m quite tired of this issue. Does anyone have a workaround or am I SOL? I also have issues with the power button. I can press it 20 times and it just doesn’t come on. When it does come on it seems totally random. Not what you expect from a $1500 game boy.

I bought MX vs ATV: Unleashed on steam to relive some childhood memories of playing it on the og xbox, but it crashes instantly. I tried compatibility modes, Disabling Fullscreen optimizations and went into settings to force integrated graphics. I don't know what to do.

EDIT: I FOUND A (Kinda) Fix!!!!

A mod called OPEN UNLEASHED just came out and basically overhauls the entire game. For some reason downloading it and running the game from there fixed it for me.

People that have Handheld Companion, do you experience a lot of issues with it?

Not sure if this is the right sub but today when trying to use my new legion go 2. I couldn’t download anything from steam (steam wasn’t connected to network for some reason). Ended up reinstalling steam after deleting cache but ended up getting stuck on logging in forever. Now I managed to let me sign in but now stuck on start up.
