A common problem encountered by new users of Krita. The artwork exported from Krita sometimes may look dark or washed out. Here is a simple way to mitigate this problem.
Remember to save between steps btw, G'MIC filters can be quite slow! But yeah, go experiement and go wild with this, it's super fun! This can also be an awesome way to add interesting backgrounds to character art :)
I made a redesign in 2020 (the one in the green circle), and wanted to update him with more details, using this comic book-ish style that I'm practicing recently (posted the process on IG @ joaoggarin_ )
Hi everyone!
First time properly finishing and sharing a drawing I've made in drawing (and really finishing a proper digital drawing outside of pixel art!)
It's still a little rough around the edges, but I think it's got charm! Maaay be a few mistakes about the place (I had to do some manual cleanup after a pretty big blunder painting in my lineart layer).
To be honest, I don’t know why people don’t use Krita software, because it’s absolutely great. I’ve been using it since 2018, and it’s still fantastic for creating art.
I drew this in Krita, and I think its pretty nice. I really need to finally learn how to draw hands though lol.
Believe it or not, this has 100 (somehow exactly 100, I didn't plan for this haha) layers. Yes I abuse layers way to much, I'm aware of this. Yes it does eat quite some RAM (1.8GB)
But a large portion of these is not visible, or are just filter masks. So the "real" amount is probably closer to maybe 50
Idk why but it feels so much better to draw on a grey background than a fully white one, I can work on greyscales from the bg itself and even add other shades of grey to make shadows better…
Is this just a me thing? ;-;
(Last ones were colored so don’t mind that but still!)
Recently, I’ve gotten a chance to be well-acquainted with the technical side of Krita. It’s been very, very nice. The commission stamp blocks it out a bit, but I had a lot of fun with the glow and overlay effects on this character.
Hopefully it’s still obvious how passionate this woman is!
hi there
i decided i really wanted to try out krita, as photoslop has been constantly crashing and i am desperate to get away from adobe.
i decided to download krita, as it looked like it had everything i'd need in a good replacement, but when installing it wouldnt open.
after it not opening and not showing any activity in the task manager, i decided to uninstall and try the portable version, but came across the same issue.
i then found the log file in appdata, however, the only error that showed was that "krita didn't close properly".
next, i researched online and saw someone recomended trying the .com file instead of .exe in the krita portable, i did that and got these messages.
does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue?
