I’m genuinely baffled by how terrible the speakers in the Kia Sportage Hybrid are.
Seriously, Kia. How do you build a modern SUV, pack it with technology, slap on a respectable price tag, and then install speakers that sound like they were pulled out of a $20 Bluetooth radio?
The bass is practically nonexistent. The sound is flat, lifeless, and embarrassingly cheap. There’s no depth, no richness, and absolutely nothing enjoyable about listening to music in this car.
And what’s even more baffling is how many people defend this vehicle like Kia personally pays their mortgage.
Have some of you genuinely never experienced a good car audio system? Or do you owe your lives to Kia and are somehow contractually obligated to defend every cheap component they throw into the Sportage?
I’m not asking for a concert hall on wheels. I’m asking for speakers that don’t make a modern SUV sound like a rental car from 2005.
Before someone jumps in with “Well, you should’ve bought the higher trim” or “Just upgrade the speakers,” that’s exactly the problem. Why should consumers have to spend MORE money to fix something that shouldn’t be this embarrassingly bad in the first place?
A vehicle can have great fuel economy, a nice interior, and impressive technology while still having a garbage audio system. You can like your car and admit that Kia cheaped out. Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.
The amount of blind brand loyalty in some car communities is ridiculous.
