Question Bali-Workcation | Looking for 3 Serious Founders to Join

So here's the thing.

I've been reading about a US-based investment firm (Rabbit VC's "Desert Rose”) that sends its top founders on a one-month trip to work on the hardest problems they've been avoiding, the ones that get buried under day-to-day team work.

Not surprisingly, this turned out to be their biggest growth lever: focus and isolation.

So this is for founders doing ₹15L–50L/month in revenue who want to get to the next level.
I’m at 30L/m

Here's the plan: we book a 4BHK apartment in Bali for a month and get to work.

DM me if you fit the criteria and want to join.

(It'll cost roughly ₹70K–1L per person, so yes, this isn't for early-stage founders.)

Signing off!

Question What if we built an open-source credit protocol for India's small businesses?

Many small businesses in India struggle to get loans because they can't easily prove their creditworthiness, even when they have regular customers, sales, and a healthy business.

What if we built an open-source protocol that helps businesses create a verifiable financial history using invoices, payment records, and cash flow?

With the business owner's permission, this information could be shared with different lenders, helping them assess creditworthiness without depending on a single platform.

Think of it as an open financial infrastructure for small businesses, inspired by Bitcoin's open-protocol approach, but without any cryptocurrency or token.

Developers could build different apps on top of it, while the core protocol remains open for everyone to use.

India already has financial infrastructure we could build upon, so the real question is whether there's a gap worth solving.

Is this a genuinely useful idea, or am I overlooking a fundamental problem?

Question I want to help farmers get better market access in India. How would you validate this business with almost zero capital?

I want to help farmers get better market access in India. How would you validate this business with almost zero capital?

I'm an agriculture student from Telangana, India, exploring an agribusiness venture in Peddapalli district.

My long-term goal is to build a system that helps farmers obtain reliable market access, improves their net income, reduces vegetable wastage and creates more opportunities for young people in agriculture.

After discussing the idea with traders and getting feedback from people in the agribusiness sector, I've realized that I shouldn't start by building a farm, opening a store, developing an app or investing in infrastructure.

I need to prove that I can solve one real problem first.

My current approach

I want to start with a small group of local vegetable farmers and connect them with buyers who need their produce.

The initial process would be simple:

  • Understand what nearby farmers grow, their expected harvest quantities and when the produce will be ready.
  • Talk to vegetable traders, retailers, restaurants and other potential buyers to understand their actual requirements.
  • Match available produce with confirmed demand before harvest.
  • Coordinate a small transaction and record the price, quality, transport costs, farmer payment and my own costs.
  • Check whether the farmer receives a satisfactory net return and whether the buyer wants to purchase again.

I would initially coordinate transactions manually through phone calls and WhatsApp. I don't want to purchase vegetables speculatively, build a warehouse or take on expenses before I understand the market.

Eventually, I would like to develop a reliable supply network for quality-assured, traceable vegetables, including produce with documented residue-testing results. However, I don't want to assume that buyers will pay a premium for this without evidence.

My current constraints

  • I'm starting mainly with my time, not confirmed operating capital.
  • I don't yet have a proven network of committed buyers.
  • I need someone with practical experience in farm operations, aggregation and supply-chain execution.
  • I want to validate the business before considering a larger production operation.

Questions for people with real experience

  1. If you were starting from zero, would you approach farmers first or buyers first?
  2. Which buyer segment would be easiest to test initially: vegetable traders, retailers, restaurants, processors or institutional buyers?
  3. What is the smallest transaction or pilot that would provide meaningful evidence of demand?
  4. How can a new intermediary create enough value for both farmers and buyers to earn a reasonable margin?
  5. What operational mistakes should I watch for when coordinating perishable produce?
  6. If you were looking for a cofounder, what practical skills would you prioritize for this model?

I'm not looking for encouragement just for the sake of it. I'd appreciate criticism, examples of failed attempts and advice based on actual experience.

If you were in my position, what specific experiment would you run over the next 30 days to decide whether this business is worth pursuing?

Lessons Manufacturing founders + young people who dream of enabling manufacturing using tech: casual meetup at Cyberhub, split the bill

Hey folks,

I’ve spent close to two decades around factory floors, and I keep noticing that the people who run manufacturing businesses in NCR and the young people who want to build in manufacturing almost never end up in the same room.

So I’m hosting a small, informal mixer at Cyberhub.

Who it’s for:

  • Founders already running manufacturing or industrial businesses in Delhi NCR
  • Young founders, students, and builders who think about manufacturing (hardware, factories, supply chains, industrial tech, manufacturing software) and want to learn from people who’ve done it

What it is:

  • Just good conversation over food and drinks
  • No pitches, no panels, no sales
  • Everyone pays for themselves (we split the bill)

Details:

  • Cyberhub, Gurugram
  • Friday, 30th of October, 2026
  • Keeping it to around 10 people so conversations actually happen

If this sounds like your kind of evening, comment or DM me with one line about what you’re building or want to build. I’ll share the final details.

If you know someone who’d fit, please share them too.

Question Need Advice: Payment Gateway for a New Indian Marketplace with ₹40 Lakh Turnover

I'm building a newly launched marketplace in India under my company, HiveSurf Media LLP. Our platform allows multiple communities/organizations to sell products and collect payments for events. We need a payment gateway that supports split payments and settlements to multiple sellers/beneficiaries.

We are facing an onboarding issue because the payment gateway has asked us to provide a declaration on company letterhead confirming annual turnover exceeding ₹40 lakh.

As a newly started business, we don't have an established turnover history yet.

I'd appreciate advice from founders who have faced a similar situation.

  1. Which Indian payment gateways support marketplace split payments or vendor settlements for newly registered businesses?

  2. Do any providers support split settlements without requiring historical annual turnover of ₹40 lakh?

  3. If turnover is a mandatory eligibility criterion, can a startup qualify through projected turnover, business plans, bank statements, or other documents?

  4. Have you successfully activated Razorpay Route, Cashfree Easy Split, PayU, or another marketplace payment solution without meeting this historical turnover requirement?

  5. Are there alternative payment structures that are compliant with Indian regulations and suitable for an early-stage marketplace?

I'm looking for actual founder experiences and providers that have approved similar businesses, not just a list of payment gateways.

Thanks in advance!

We’re looking to get an independent valuation of our early-stage technology business. We’re already working on the process with a few people involved in the business and would like to bring in an independent external perspective as well - someone who doesn't have the skin in the game but knows the game 😄

If you have experience valuing early-stage startups, SaaS businesses, or AI/technology companies. Please DM me with your experience, approach, and indicative fees.

Goal is not Equity Raising. Will share why we're doing this in detail in person.

Recommendations are welcome too.

The only must - to be based out of Mumbai.

Hoping to meet that one among you as early as this week.

Thanks!

Funding Looking to Connect with an Angel Investor / Early-Stage Investor — Seeking Rs. 5–10 Lakhs

Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on an early-stage business venture in India and am looking to connect with an angel investor, private investor, or someone experienced in funding early-stage entrepreneurs.
I’m seeking an initial investment of **Rs. 5–10 lakhs by 5 November 2026** to help me move forward with the next stage of execution. As the venture progresses, I intend to explore formal business financing options as well.
At this stage, I’m keeping the business details confidential, but I’m happy to discuss the opportunity privately with genuinely interested investors after establishing mutual trust.
I’m open to discussing a suitable arrangement, whether that involves equity, a structured investment, or another mutually agreed commercial arrangement.
I would particularly appreciate connecting with people who have experience investing in startups, small businesses, or first-time founders in India.
If you’re an investor yourself or can refer me to someone credible, I’d be grateful for the connection. Please comment or DM me.
Thank you.

Question Outsiders built rockets and AI. Why not cures? I want to build a startup for incurable diseases, starting with HIV

Rockets, self-driving cars and AI get most of the attention and venture capital. Meanwhile, diseases like HIV still have no widely available cure, even though we can control them.

HIV shows the problem. Antiretroviral therapy stops the virus from multiplying, but a small hidden reservoir of "sleeping" viral DNA stays inside long-lived immune cells (about 1 in a million CD4 T cells). It can't be seen or reached, so treatment is lifelong. As I understand it, the bottleneck is waking or silencing every sleeping copy, then clearing those cells safely.

My background is mixed:

Finance: grew up around a family business and the stock market.

Tech: Bachelor's and Master's degrees.

Biology: self-taught out of curiosity, on top of 11th-12th grade bio.

Startups: worked in 3 startups, and I create content.

I'm not a biologist or a lab scientist, and I know biotech is slower and harder than building rockets. My plan is to learn the science properly, raise patient capital, and partner with scientists who know HIV and immunology.

I'd like honest feedback on:

Is this realistic for an outsider, and which role fits best (funder, founder, partner)?

Which research areas look most promising or neglected?

Are any scientists or biotech founders open to talking?

Please correct me where I'm wrong. I'm here to learn.

Question 26 F Building a small business but wants to venture in D2C and needs funding how to go about it?

Quick context.

I run a gifting business where we do corporate and wedding gifting. This is my first year doing Diwali gifting, as I started the business post-Diwali last year.

Since then, we’ve done some really cool and decently big wedding gifting projects. We did our first bulk order within just one month of starting, worth 100 pieces, another massive bulk order of 300 pieces within 3 months of being in business, and eventually fulfilled an order of 1,000+ pieces within just 8 months of starting, all while running the business from home.

Now, for this Diwali season, we’ve been approached by companies like PNB, Starlink and Mygate for their Diwali gifting. Some deals closed, some didn’t, and we’re doing Diwali gifting for a skincare giant and a few other firms with international client bases.

I have good presentation skills, know how to build relationships, can sell and, of course, know how to market. I don't have a crazy social media presence for the business, though, as we barely have 350 followers. I was running everything solo (with my dad mostly involved) until recently and have only just hired someone to help with sales and social media.

Now, here's my genuine question and no I am not lookimg for validation as I know I have built something real.

I don't wish to do this business for long because I want to build a brand, and I feel this business has a lot of limitations when it comes to building one. I was a brand manager before this, and that's what I really enjoy doing. I had no plans of starting a gifting business in the first place, but that's another story.

I have a D2C idea in mind. And no, it's nothing revolutionary, just another idea around making a boring category interesting for new-age folks, and I genuinely believe it could work.

So, where do I stand? Would someone invest their time and money in me at this stage, or do I need to make some sales, get the actual product into the market, and then explore funding?

Also, I don't come from a Tier 1/2 college, although I did top my engineering college. How does this really work? Do I need to spend the next 4–5 years building this business, earning money and becoming financially stable before starting my D2C venture?

Feel free to ask me any relevant questions! :)

Question I'm 19 and built RankMyMind — a 100% free, fast alternative to bloated Indian test-prep apps. Would love brutal feedback from fellow founders!

Hey everyone, I'm a 19-year-old student and solo dev from India. Over the last 3 months, I built https://rankmymind.com out of pure frustration with the current state of Indian EdTech and mock test apps. Almost every test platform today forces you to enter your phone number, spams you with sales calls, locks basic questions behind expensive subscriptions, and runs on clunky, slow interfaces. I wanted to build the exact opposite: a blazing fast, gamified, and 100% free testing arena where students can test their speed math, competitive exam aptitude (like SSC & JEE), physics, and cognitive IQ with live leaderboards, sound effects, and customizable timers without ever giving up their personal data. I have coded the entire stack solo, curated 12,000+ verified questions with step-by-step bilingual solutions (English & Hindi), and launched with zero marketing budget. As a young first-time builder, I would be deeply grateful for your honest feedback: How does the overall UX and speed feel at https://rankmymind.com? What core features should I prioritize next to make this a daily habit for Indian aspirants? And what is the best way for a solo bootstrapped product to grow organically in India? Thank you so much for your time and guidance!

Question The Struggle Before Starting a Startup

I've been thinking about starting a startup and have come up with several ideas to solve real problems. But whenever I research them, I find that a startup in India is already working on the same idea. Honestly, finding a genuinely new business idea in today's world isn't easy.

Sometimes.

I find gaps in existing apps and believe I can solve those problems better. But what if established players simply add my features to their apps? Competing with businesses that already have funding and customers feels risky, yet abandoning every idea just because someone else is doing it doesn't feel right either.

I'm from Hyderabad, interested in startup ideas, new apps, and co-founder opportunities. Feel free to DM! 😊

Product / MVP Built a food delivery platform while working full-time — should I bootstrap, raise funding, or sell?

Hi everyone,

I’m a software engineer working full-time, and alongside my job, I’ve been building a food delivery startup called BlinkFeast.

The platform is almost ready and functional. We have built the customer-facing app, restaurant partner app, and admin panel. We’ve integrated third-party delivery providers, and we’ve already onboarded a restaurant and completed some orders.

Our business model is simple: offer restaurants lower commissions and let customers order at reasonable prices without the inflated menu prices they often encounter on traditional food delivery platforms.

The idea is to make food delivery more affordable for customers while allowing restaurants to retain more of their earnings. We want to build a platform that genuinely benefits both sides instead of squeezing restaurants or making customers pay significantly more.

However, I’m now at a crossroads, and I would really appreciate honest advice from people who have experience in startups, fundraising, or the food delivery industry.

The challenges I'm facing

1. Food delivery is a competitive market, but is it really too late to enter?

Whenever I discuss this idea, people say the market is saturated and competing with established players is almost impossible.

I understand that customer acquisition, delivery costs, operational efficiency, and network effects are major challenges. However, I still believe there is an opportunity for a business that offers restaurants better economics and gives customers a more transparent pricing experience.

Am I looking at this opportunity realistically, or am I underestimating how difficult this business is?

2. Can this business work without significant funding?

I’m currently working full-time, so my time is limited. I can continue developing the product, but scaling restaurant onboarding, customer acquisition, local marketing, and daily operations will require more people and resources.

I’m wondering whether bootstrapping is realistic in this industry or whether external funding is almost necessary to reach meaningful scale.

I also don't want to invest a significant amount of my personal savings into a business without validating its economics first.

3. How should I approach investors?

Since the product is already built and we have completed some real orders, should I start approaching angel investors and early-stage funds?

Or should I first focus on one small geographical area, onboard more restaurants, demonstrate repeat customer orders, and prove that the unit economics work?

What metrics would investors expect at this stage? Would a functional product, a few restaurant partners, and initial orders be enough to start conversations, or would I need much stronger traction?

4. Should I consider selling the business instead?

Another option is to sell the platform to an existing food-tech company, restaurant-tech provider, or someone looking to enter this market.

We have already invested substantial development time into building the technology and integrations. I’m unsure whether it makes more sense to find someone who can take it forward with a dedicated team and capital, or continue trying to build it myself.

Is there a realistic market for acquiring an early-stage food delivery platform with a working product but limited traction?

A little more context

* I have built most of the technology myself while working full-time.

* The core platform and major integrations are already functional.

* We have onboarded a restaurant and completed some orders.

* Our focus is on lower restaurant commissions and reasonable customer pricing.

* The biggest challenges now are growth, operations, customer acquisition, and funding.

I’m not looking for generic advice like “just work hard” or “never give up.” I would genuinely appreciate perspectives from founders who have raised money, bootstrapped a marketplace, worked in food delivery, or made the decision to sell an early-stage startup.

If you were in my position, what would you do over the next six months?

Would you bootstrap and validate the business, raise a small pre-seed round, find a strategic partner, or explore selling it?

I’m open to hearing why this idea might fail just as much as why it might work. Honest feedback would be really valuable.

Thanks!

Question What is that one stupid small thing you forget daily and then regret?

I'm 20, from Mangalore. I'm building a small reminder app but not for big things like electricity bill (Google Pay already does that).

I'm talking about stupid daily things:

- Switching on water motor and forgetting for 2 hours, full tank overflows

- Putting clothes in washing machine at 8 AM and remembering at 6 PM, now it stinks

- Keeping idli batter / curd to set at night and forgetting, next morning no breakfast

- Leaving lunch box on table and going to college

- FASTag low balance but you remember only at toll gate

I face this every week. My mom shouts daily for motor overflow.

So I'm building: At night you just say "motor on at 6 AM" or "remind lunch box at 7:30 AM" and it will call/remind you exactly at that time, even if you are busy.

Basically, your mom in app form who reminds stupid things before they become big problem.

Question to you: What is that one stupid small thing YOU forget and then regret? I want to add it to my app.

If 10 people tell me same thing, I'll build it free for you all first.

Hey everyone!

I’m exploring an idea around managing customer enquiries and follow-ups, and wanted to hear how people handle this in their day-to-day work.

Businesses often get enquiries through WhatsApp, Instagram, email, and websites. Keeping track of leads, remembering to follow up, and replying on time can get messy.

I’m thinking about a setup where messages are tracked in a CRM, follow-ups are identified automatically, and AI helps draft replies or automate repetitive communication.

A few questions:

- How do you currently manage enquiries and follow-ups?

- Do you use a CRM, spreadsheets, WhatsApp labels, or a mix of tools?

- Have you tried connecting these tools or adding AI? What worked or didn’t?

- What part of the process still takes too much manual effort?

- What would actually convince you to try a product like this?

I’m building in this space and still figuring out what would be genuinely useful. I’d appreciate hearing about your current setup and what you wish worked better.

Lessons Built an AI platform for a BFSI client in India. The AI was the easy part, compliance was the real work.

We recently built an AI platform for a finance client in India: the platform, the data layer, and the AI features. Going in, I thought the AI would be most of the work. It wasn't.

In BFSI, regulators are strict and the client has to give proof of everything. So every compliance requirement had to be built into the platform itself, in a way that regulators can easily view and verify. Here's what that included:

- PII tracking: Clear visibility into what personal information is processed and where.

- On-premise data: All data is stored on a local server managed by the client.

- Cloud LLM with restrictions: We used a cloud-based LLM, but no PII goes to the model. Only the information needed to generate results is sent, and there's full proof of what goes and what doesn't.

- Security and guardrails: Controls across the entire platform, not just around the AI.

- Audit logs: Every action by every user is logged.

- Exportable records: All logs can be exported as files whenever needed.

- Documentation and recording: Every step was documented in detail, including what was built, what was added, the technical documents, and the training. For proof, we went as far as screen recording the database to show the data is actually stored on-premise.

Main takeaway for anyone building AI for finance in India: the idea of AI alone isn't enough. The compliance layer is a much bigger part of the work, and it needs to be planned from day one, not added after the AI is ready.

Curious how others are handling this. If you've built for BFSI, how did you manage the compliance side along with the AI? And for those using cloud LLMs, how are you making sure no PII reaches the model?
