Discussion I’ll design free App Store screenshots for the first 3 apps in the comments

Post image
• Upvotes

I’m making screenshot concepts for three apps today. The image shows the kind of work I can make, with a different style for each app.

If you’d like one, comment with your App Store link and a short description of your app. If it isn’t live yet, share a few raw screenshots instead. I’ll take the first three with enough details to work from.

Help Any IOS apps available for uk like this?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I used singband, millwind and pebble pro and hello movie before, but changed my phone and couldn’t redownload any of them as they’re no longer available. Annoying thing is I asked someone I recently gave the app to for the newest version code and got ignored but looking for an app to stream tv and movies that is usually a hidden app so needs a code or some form of mild messing to unlock the movie content. I’d be SO grateful😭

I actually really need such a service for my job. Does anybody have experience with using Findsio? It is much cheaper than others, but reviews are hard to find.

Discussion New interesting app Deflector - add custom shortcuts to Dynamic Island

Saw a review of new released apps on YouTube. One that was interesting is a new Dynamic Island shortcut creator and tried it out called deflector. It works well and free for those interested. Has the ability to swipe to close when not needed and also has the option to add additional shortcuts on the lock screen without using a widget.

Help Keyboard app frustration

Post image
1 Upvotes

Is there a keyboard that makes basic punctuation easier? The photo shows a popup on my current keyboard app. It makes it so much easier to punctuate without shifting.

Unfortunately the app (Swype) was discontinued a long time ago and either I’m losing my ability to swipe-to-type, or it’s lost some of its predictive accuracy.

The iOS seems to have better word prediction (or however you say it), but I’m shifting all the time even just to produce a comma or period.

Both are crazy making in their own special ways! Can you help? ☺️

Discussion I turned photos of your physical games into something interactive you can share, physical disc required 💿

Hey everyone I wanted to share Disc Collection.

It's a physical media tracker for YOUR discs. Take 2 photos of a case and it turns into an interactive 3D view you can open up, spin around, and pull the disc out of.

This app is for celebrating owning your disc. You own it, you should be able to show it off to other collectors anywhere in the world. At the core, it's still a collecting tracker: ratings, hours played, finished tracking, wishlist, search, hearting, cases numbered as you add them. The 3D case is just the fun part.

What it's NOT:

- Not a player. You can't play games or movies in it.

- Not a replacement for the disc. No physical case = nothing to build from. It only works if you own it.

- It doesn't serve any digital agenda. Companies wants you buying digital — this app does nothing unless you bought physical. The bigger your shelf, the better it works.

It's free, and I want to keep it that way. I do this as a hobby and it's really fun for me — making it paid or introducing a money factor would ruin the fun factor. I want it to stay community driven, so if you have suggestions, drop them in the contact area in the settings page.

And you can share in the public gallery where other anonymous collectors can see what you have collected — no usernames, no followers.

No accounts, no ads, no tracking.

Discussion What are your favorite one-time purchase iPhone apps that replaced subscriptions?

I’m trying to get rid of some subscriptions because it feels like every app wants a monthly payment now.

I recently wanted to clean up my camera roll (around 20,000 photos). I was looking at apps like SwipeWipe, but most of them wanted €5–10 a month. Seems a bit ridiculous just for sorting photos.

I ended up finding an app for €10 as a one-time purchase and it works great.

Now I’m wondering how many of the subscription apps I use could actually be replaced with a one-time purchase. Have you found any good alternatives to popular subscription apps?

Help What app is this?

saw my husband secretly deleting an app recently.
It looked to be light blue and appeared to have an anime face on it with I think hair wrapped around the person or ribbon. My husband didn’t know I could see him but he kept checking if I was watching him and tried to hide his phone from me then deleted it. Thinking I didn’t see him.

I’ve been unable to go through his app history as it required Face ID and I haven’t been able to get into it.

Help What iOS app would you build in 2027 if your goal was to solve a real problem?

Hey everyone!

I'm exploring ideas for an iOS app to build in 2027, and I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I'm not looking to create another generic AI app or a copy of something that already exists. I want to build something that solves a real problem and offers genuine value to its users.

I'd love to know:

  • What problem do you face regularly that existing apps don't solve well?
  • Is there an app you wish existed but haven't found yet?
  • What type of app would you actually be willing to pay for?
  • Are there any everyday tasks you think could be made significantly easier with a well-designed iOS app?

I'm especially interested in ideas for the US, UK, Canada, and other Western markets.

Help Any good experiences with "second brain" apps for managing screenshots?

Hi everyone. Like everybody else, I have hundreds of screenshots that I compulsively save as a kind of note-taking. Sometimes I sort through them later, but often (once they pile up into the hundreds) I don't. It's a mess. I've got screeshots from courses, events, trips, reading suggestions, podcasts, ideas... you name it.

The thing is, I've tried several times to test some app that would help me with this, without success. That is, an app that automatically organizes notes, lets me extract information, classifies captures...

Recently, too, with the ease of creating new apps, there are new apps of this style by the dozens.

Captr and CaptainShot, for example, are some of the latest I've tried. But they don't quite work: they don't pull out the key ideas and they don't categorize well.

Has anyone found one that actually works? A good IA second brain app for managing screenshots? There seem to be thousands of them, but none that does it well.

Thanks!

I noticed that there were tons of comments on the app, game pigeon, and how to remove it from iMessage on the AppStore. You basically just go to settings > apps > messages > iMessage apps and then selected game pigeon.

Help anyone else using capcut for youtube shorts instead of premiere?

i've been helping a friend cut clips from a small podcast for youtube shorts. most episodes are around an hour, so we go through the recording, pick out interesting moments and turn them into clips that are usually under a minute. i've been using premiere for the longer edits, but it feels like overkill when all i need is to crop the video vertically, remove pauses, add captions and highlight a few words. i've been testing capcut for the short clips because it seems easier to get those basics done quickly. how well does it handle captions when people talk over each other or use names that might be transcribed incorrectly? also, do you edit each short separately or prepare a batch from the same episode?

Discussion Just to share a nice light free long screenshot app

I used a small app called Stitch in the past, light and free. Just works. But yesterday I noticed the app no longer available in the AppStore. The version I had was 1.1 and only other thing I know is an email address for customer review mind.stitch zohomail com

Anyway, I started searching for the app and checking if it had been replaced in the appstore with something else. Maybe I downloaded it from different country AppStore. But then I found another app called Stitch - Long ScreenShot on Australia appstore. It is also a nice free app for long sceenshot that works well. There are some more free interesting apps from the same developer.

Discussion What's the most ridiculously basic iPhone app you've seen ask for a subscription?

I swear every time I look for a simple iOS app these days, there's another subscription.

  • Scan a document? Subscription.
  • Remove duplicate photos? Subscription.
  • Convert a file? Yep, subscription.

Some of these apps barely do anything, yet they still want $5-8 a week.

I don't mind paying for good software, but come on. Not everything needs a monthly or weekly fee.

What's the most ridiculous one you've come across?

Bonus points if it's something the iPhone can already do for free.

Discussion Anyone want to talk about vibe coding an iPhone app

’m not a professional iOS developer. I used to be an assembler coder back in the 80s but I have been keen to look at iOS apps, I did an online course and built little apps but nothing good.

So over the last six months I coded a list app for myself using AI-assisted coding, and it has somehow turned into a fairly substantial SwiftUI app.

The basic idea is deliberately simple: You make a list, and you put items in a list items can have sub items and I have number of fields in each list item date time descriptions a number a rating

I have not found any type of list that didn't work with those things.

I'm tracking books, tv shows I have a squirrel list for things I put somewhere safe and then lost. I have a list for the F1 schedule this year, It is not a task app, deliberately not a task app but I did add some tasks bits that you can add to a list if you want to but no notifications.

I love tags so I worked really hard on designing how the tags work

I went sort of overboard with tons of features but they are all things I thought would come in handy and they did. I put it on the App Store because I wanted to go through that and because a friend of mine wanted to use it to. This is not an ad , I haven't mentioned the name, and it is free in the App Store anyway.

I wonder if anyone wanted to talk about what worked and what went horribly wrong building a real app this way.

Discussion stopwatch on screen to track my screen time

Does anyone else lose track of time on their phone? Looking for a live stopwatch overlay app
Every day I end up on my phone far longer than I meant to, without even noticing. And the longer I scroll, the harder it gets to pull myself out. That's not what I want, and it's really hurting my productivity. My intention is always to take a quick break and relax, but social media is designed to keep you hooked so you never want to stop.
I've tried setting alarms, and I've found that the shorter the alarm, the better it works. So I think what I need is a live stopwatch overlay: a small counter in the top-left corner of my screen that doesn't block anything but is impossible to ignore. It would count up from the moment I open an app, showing minutes, seconds, and milliseconds, something like 00:12:47.38, with the last digits flickering by so fast I can literally watch my time slipping away. That constant sense of urgency is what I need to make myself put the phone down.
Ideally, the stopwatch would track each app separately, and I could open the app itself to see my daily stats. The only difference from Apple's built-in Screen Time is that it would give me that pressure in real time, helping me control my scrolling instead of mindlessly wasting my time.
Does anyone else have this problem? Any app recommendations?
