Test Experience/Test Result OMGOMGOMG I GOT MY TARGET BAND! 😭😭
I genuinely thought I was going to get a lower score because I really struggled. I still can’t believe my results, this is more than enough for me. 😭

I did my test today and I think my task 2 is good. I wrote about 380 words with 3 elaborations. However, for task 1, I realise my comparison was not enough. Basically, there are two pie charts showing statistics in 2 years. I didn’t compare between two charts but I compare the percentage within each year. Am I gonna fail😭😭😭😭

Hey guys, I’m finding it difficult to complete writing tasks within an hour. Any tips for making it faster?

Abdullah here, today, I am here with a question that has shaken my confidence, shattered me apart.
How can a candidate, with the same underlying ability and preparation, experience such a dramatic decline in two major components of an examination that carries so much weight.......Can anyone please explain?
My results:
**December 2024 - Previous IELTS Result**
**Listening: 9.0**
**Reading: 8.0**
**Overall: 8.0**
**October 2026 - Latest IELTS Result**
**Listening: 6.5**
**Reading: 6.5**
**Overall: 6.5**
This substantial difference has left me deeply concerned. I remember my preparation, my composure, and my experience during the examination.
I am not accusing anyone of deliberately doing anything wrong. I am asking whether something could have gone wrong, and whether anyone is willing to investigate it properly
I have been advised by close relatives to take this matter to social media and pursue legal avenues. Until now, I have wanted to give IDP the opportunity to address my concerns directly and professionally. I still hope that a fair and responsible response will make escalation unnecessary.

I have done my research here. Suggest me whether to go ahead with following websites or not
Ieltsonlinetests.com - I have heard negative reviews on this one
IELTSguides.com - not sure about this
Test&score.com - not sure about this
All official websites - british council, IDP, Cambridge (do they have paid plans per month). I am already overwhelmed by looking at different platforms altogether. I just wanna stick to only 1-2. Please help.

Guys I have a genuine question: so I was watching IELTS Advantage's TASK 2 WRITING video and he said that always keep it accurate and simple.
He wrote an introduction to the question, "People sleep less than they used to in the past. What do you think is the reason behind this? What are the effects on individuals?" as:
"People sleep fewer hours than they did many years ago. This is because we tend to work longer hours compared to the past and this results in fatigue."
Now, according to him it's a band 8.0 introduction while AI graded it only 6.0 saying it's too basic and it doesn't give any clue to how I'm going to write my essay. It rewrote the following as a band 8.0 introduction:
"People are getting less sleep than they did in the past. This is largely due to the widespread use of social media and increasing levels of stress, which can lead to persistent fatigue and other health problems."
So, my question is: Is AI being too strict here and that previous introduction can get me a band 8.0 start or should I try to mimic and incorporate a lot of formal and clean writing as suggested by AI?
Hey everyone! I have around 25 days to improve my IELTS score from a 6 to at least an 8.5 for my program, and I could really use some advice.
Listening is my strongest skill, but I’m struggling with Reading, Writing, and Speaking. I also have classes and other responsibilities, so I’m finding it difficult to establish a consistent study routine and figure out how to make the most of my limited time.
For those who have improved their scores significantly, what would you recommend? How should I structure my daily practice and track my progress without burning out?
I know 25 days is a tight deadline, but I’m ready to put in the work. I’d really appreciate any practical advice, resources, or personal experiences. Thank you! ❤️

Hi everyone,
I recently took the IELTS General Training test in Canada and received the following results:
Listening: 7.5
Reading: 6.0
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 5.5
Overall: 6.5
I need at least 6.0 in Speaking for my immigration application. I felt that my speaking test went reasonably well, and I previously received 6.5 in Speaking, so I submitted an Enquiry on Results (EOR) for the Speaking section only.
I applied for the EOR on October 14, and it is currently showing “Re-mark in Progress.”
Has anyone recently requested a Speaking EOR through IDP Canada?
How long did it take to receive the result?
Did your Speaking score increase from 5.5 to 6.0 or higher?
Did you receive an email when the result was ready?
Is there anything I can do other than wait?
I understand that nobody can predict whether my score will change, but hearing about recent experiences would be helpful. Thank you!

I'm preparing for the IELTS Academic exam (aiming for a 7.0+) in mid-January.
I saw a 4-book Cambridge bundle online that includes:
For those who have used them, are these books actually worth buying, or should I just focus strictly on solving test papers (like Cambridge 16-20)?
Also, two quick questions:
Thanks in advance for the help!

you think this is a joke? no bro i was so focused on how i said things that i completely forgot about WHAT I SAY. bro fr i was speaking smoothly with a diverse vocab but she kept questioning me on one damn thing then somehow i found my self saying it depends to "should parents teach their children politness. funny thing is i first gave a proper answer like yeah they should and explained but i slipped and accidentally said it depends around the end and she made a face and i realized i should just accept not learning abroad. also my answers were concise, and i occasionally found her staring at me waiting for some more. during part 2 it was crazy bad that i asked if i was being too brief and she made a face saying idk are you, dumbass? bro i swear if i had a gun it was good bye to this world. i dont normally say bro, and i cant wait till this post gets taken down
ig my question is how much will these two things affect my score (like it matters at this point)

Is this normal or expected. There seems to be a clear disparity between my writing and other areas, and from what I understand that isnt very common or I might just be bad at writing and trying to cope. Should I apply for remarking? I consider myself to have a strong grasp of English and I am even currently taking English literature. I did, to be honest not study but I got pretty good scores for everything else, a 9 in listening, 7.5 in reading (which I was also suprised about, I thought I did perfect to be honest) and a 8.5 in speaking. I am not sure what my next move should be and would appreciate any suggestions.

Hello! currently preparing for my ielts that I'll probably do in November!
I've beeb using Ielts online tests mainly but i noticed its a bit more difficult than the actual one. I used to use it more for listening because that's what my teacher used to use for exams when i was in 11th grade
The reading though can get really hard on the website. like sometimes i just stop solving all together because of how confusing it can get and how the questions aren't in order
Do I continue using ielts online test? or do i use another website for reading?
edit: btw im doing ielts academic

I would say I'm somewhat decent in my english language but I'm still scared and don't know how to prepare. One of the things I'm scared for is speaking and writing. I get nervous speaking so I feel like that would affect my test alot and for writing???? UGH I CAN'T GET THE STRUCTURE I SHOULD BE USING. I also need recs on either good yt channels or websites that does not take the entirety of my day since I still have school. PLEASE HELPP

These are the scores that I repetitively got in my mock tests
Listening - 8.0-8.5 (9.0 for 4 times/ 7.5 sometimes too)
Reading - mostly 7.5 ( 9.0/8.0 once )
Writing - chat gpt told me I got 6-6.5
Speaking(A.I) - 7.0-7.5
Is it possible for me to go from these scores to overall 8.0 in a week (test day on 31 oct 2026 )
Any suggestions? How can I work on it?
For I have the exam after 15 days only!
Thanks.
