Have a Question/Advice Needed Can I get overall 8.0 in a week with these scores?

These are the scores that I repetitively got in my mock tests

Listening - 8.0-8.5 (9.0 for 4 times/ 7.5 sometimes too)
Reading - mostly 7.5 ( 9.0/8.0 once )
Writing - chat gpt told me I got 6-6.5
Speaking(A.I) - 7.0-7.5

Is it possible for me to go from these scores to overall 8.0 in a week (test day on 31 oct 2026 )

Have a Question/Advice Needed Hi! I have been trying to put essays in ChatGPT for evaluation it’s just hovering around 6 - 6.5 although I personally don’t think so I’m worth this low score.

Any suggestions? How can I work on it?
For I have the exam after 15 days only!

Thanks.

Test Experience/Test Result Can I get band 7 in writing?😭

I did my test today and I think my task 2 is good. I wrote about 380 words with 3 elaborations. However, for task 1, I realise my comparison was not enough. Basically, there are two pie charts showing statistics in 2 years. I didn’t compare between two charts but I compare the percentage within each year. Am I gonna fail😭😭😭😭

Have a Question/Advice Needed Is too much detail in answers wrong?

Hi,

I have been taking practice tests for the reading part of the exam, and the AI corrections tell me that my answers are wrong, even though I wrote literally what the audio said.

In these examples, you can see how I wrote "small leaves" instead of "leaves", and the audio said "small leaves". Another example is that I wrote "lambs offered in sacrifice" while the correct answer technically was "sacrifice", but the audio said literally said "lambs offered in sacrifice".

Do you think I should interpret this corrections as truthfull and adapt my answers at the real exam by providing less details or simpler answers? Would these answers be considered wrong for the IELTS evaluators?

Have a Question/Advice Needed Speaking EOR: Has anyone’s score increased from 5.5 to 6.0?

Post image

Hi everyone,
I recently took the IELTS General Training test in Canada and received the following results:
Listening: 7.5
Reading: 6.0
Writing: 6.0
Speaking: 5.5
Overall: 6.5

I need at least 6.0 in Speaking for my immigration application. I felt that my speaking test went reasonably well, and I previously received 6.5 in Speaking, so I submitted an Enquiry on Results (EOR) for the Speaking section only.

I applied for the EOR on October 14, and it is currently showing “Re-mark in Progress.”
Has anyone recently requested a Speaking EOR through IDP Canada?
How long did it take to receive the result?
Did your Speaking score increase from 5.5 to 6.0 or higher?
Did you receive an email when the result was ready?
Is there anything I can do other than wait?
I understand that nobody can predict whether my score will change, but hearing about recent experiences would be helpful. Thank you!

I'm honestly pretty happy since it's all self study and online free resources since a course here in Vietnam is like 770 to 1k dollars which is a baffling amount, but because I never got proper feedback my speaking and writing really suffered lmao

Test Experience/Test Result Got the result... overall 7.0 (L8, R7, W6.5, S7)

Hi everyone!

I recently received my IELTS Academic results:

Overall: 7.0 , Listening: 8.0 , Reading: 7.0 , Writing: 6.5 , Speaking: 7.0

I'm a bit disappointed with my Reading and Writing scores. I was hoping for higher. Should I consider a retake? Would appreciate your advice!

Just wanted to thanks this subreddit for all their help during the process. In exchange for all the help I got, if anyone has any doubt I can answer them although I am not an expert on IELTS format and I am not that strong in writing and speaking.

I did better than last time(8) three years Ago.

I got a direct question essay about plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures, why they are done and my opinion on it.

Although I have to say, its pretty annoying having to do this test anytime I want to apply to anything academic since its expiry period is soooo short :(

Have a Question/Advice Needed How do I improve in short time?

Hey everyone! I have around 25 days to improve my IELTS score from a 6 to at least an 8.5 for my program, and I could really use some advice.

Listening is my strongest skill, but I’m struggling with Reading, Writing, and Speaking. I also have classes and other responsibilities, so I’m finding it difficult to establish a consistent study routine and figure out how to make the most of my limited time.

For those who have improved their scores significantly, what would you recommend? How should I structure my daily practice and track my progress without burning out?

I know 25 days is a tight deadline, but I’m ready to put in the work. I’d really appreciate any practical advice, resources, or personal experiences. Thank you! ❤️

Have a Question/Advice Needed Is there any way to get 7.5 overall within a month?

Post image

Just got my test result today and honestly I expected at least a 7. I'm Vietnamese so english is not my first language. I have taken a lot of mock tests at home and most of the time I got 8.5-9.0 listening, 7.5-8.5 reading and 6.5 in both writing and speaking. What else should I do or is there any apps/websites/AI tools that can help me out? Desperately need help in speaking since I have no one to practice with; I usually speak to chat gpt but it is not so effective. I'm a high school student so I don't have much time to practice. For that reason, I also want to ask if there is any youtube videos or channels or podcast on spotify that I can immerse myself in english to be more familliar with the language?

Have a Question/Advice Needed Help regarding IELTS Writing

I am facing analysis paralysis about practicing IELTS writing.

I always feel that I am not good enough.

If you ever felt something similar, it'd be great to learn how you were able to overcome it.

Thank you

Have a Question/Advice Needed Suggest Free/paid but reliable online mock tests websites to practice daily

I have done my research here. Suggest me whether to go ahead with following websites or not

Ieltsonlinetests.com - I have heard negative reviews on this one

IELTSguides.com - not sure about this

Test&score.com - not sure about this

All official websites - british council, IDP, Cambridge (do they have paid plans per month). I am already overwhelmed by looking at different platforms altogether. I just wanna stick to only 1-2. Please help.
