Can’t believe it’s been nine years!

So after spending several days at my sister's this week and half and finding out about JP going with Smuffi on their adventure I have noticed that him mom- Charlie Chicken Swoup-pawfessur an DJ kitty runs outside anytime the door is being closed after the dog comes in the backyard. I asked my sister about it and she said that it only began happening after JP got out. This makes me wonder if she is grieving him to a point that she wants to try and find him or if it is something else entirely? I feel so terrible hearing and seeing this happening because I can't logically process any other reason behind it. Am I terrible pet parent for not being around enough? Am I a terrible human for being too distant that I was totally unaware that my baby was gone and finding out too late to realistically help? Do I even deserve my cats anymore? Are they better off if I find them a new home with parents that able to be there daily? Here is a picture of the 2 them showing that they may have orange problems to lighten the topic up some.
