Lore/World Discussion Thoughts?
I saw this on twitter and Iām not sure about the āfelt aloneā part. Iām sure Effie, on some level, feels for Haymitch and the tributes year after year but alone might not be the right word for what she mightāve felt (I could be wrong tho, I need to reread the books). But what are your thoughts?

Trilogy Discussion Gale refusing financial help from Katniss
Iāve always been confused about why Gale was willing to go so far in his refusal to take money from Katniss in Catching Fire. Also I want to say, this is no hate to Gale.
Heās working 6 days a week and his family still struggles with food insecurity. I understand Gale is stubborn and too proud to take money from the capital (through Katniss). I can believe he would refuse her help, to a point. It became unbelievable when Katniss says that Galeās little brother, Rory, has signed up for tesserae.
I donāt believe his character would put his siblingsā lives in direct danger this way. Especially when itās completely unnecessary. Katniss even says in the same sentence that Rory signing up for tesserae is something āGale canāt even speak about.ā His pride canāt possibly be worth more to him than the protection of his family.

Trilogy Discussion Which topic of discussion in Hunger Games fandom makes you feel like this?
Mine:
āKatnissā story was actually all about Haymitch this entire time, and she had no value besides being a vessel for his traumas or something that āhe createdā for the purpose to fulfill his promise to Lenore Doveā
What if I tell you that Haymitchās impact to āestablishā Katniss as somebody was like 20% and even there he barely did anything for her, Peeta or the previous 23 tributes to which he was implied to be neglectful to until a literal āmultiple ghosts in oneā girl arrived, and he then proceeded to treat her like crap. And the fandomās many cases of giving him all the credit for Katnissā achievements is also very much disrespectful of her character.
Personally so over with Katnissā character being muddled or her accomplishments dismissed all in favor of uplifting Haymitch.

Sunrise on the Reaping Sunrise On The Reaping TICKETS and FORMATS REVEALED Spoiler
(NOTE THAT THE PAGE DOES NOT WORK TO ACTUALLY BUY THEM, BUT THE THEATERS ALREADY HAVE IT READY) On Google, they already have posted showtimes and dates for early access tickets. Also, Iām guessing weāre going to get one final trailer with the phrase āGet Tickets Nowā since every movie does that. SO NEW CONTENT!! Weāre one month away from the movie, so itās reasonable for them to drop it next week.
Confirmed PLF Formats:
IMAX
Dolby Cinema
PRIME at AMC
SCREENX (first in franchise)
This means that they are definitely dropping sometime next week, along with the main movie tickets because Iāve never seen a movie drop early access and main tickets separately. My guess is Monday or Tuesday!!!

"It's so lovely to be home."
Back in Sydney to promote The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Joseph Zada reflects on returning home and spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph recalls being at Bondi Junction when he first saw a huge display for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire inside the shopping centre, before begging his mum to take him to see the film. Years later, he has returned to Australia as the actor bringing young Haymitch Abernathy to the screen.
He also speaks warmly about the support he has received at home, sharing that Australians are incredibly supportive of their own and describing the country as a beautiful, blissful and special place.

Sunrise on the Reaping Thoughts on Black Stars by SP? Spoiler
I guess I'm just failing to see the relation between the song and SotR. I'm not one that thinks every soundtrack song has to be Can't Catch Me Now in terms of 1:1 symbolism, but with most of the previous soundtracks, you can at least piece together a general theme that ties back to the movie it's for. Black Stars (while not a bad song, I don't think) just... doesn't really feel connected to the story in any way? I've gone over the lyrics a few times now, and maybe it's just too abstract for me to see.
I would love to hear other opinions/analysis on the song!

Trilogy Discussion Why did Katniss decide to die after thinking of her mother?
I chapter 27 she thinks āhaving, yet again, to say my final goodbyes to the handful of people who still maintain a hold on my heart. The prospect of facing my mother, who will now be entirely alone in the world, decides it.ā
Is she saying if she didnāt take the pill, she would have to look at her mother as she herself is tried and executed, thus leaving her alone anyway? So itās better to take the pill and do it herself? Regardless, her mother wouldāve been alone in the end anyway, no? Why did thinking of her mother help her decide to go?
