I have a 8yr treeing walker hound dog who’s been dealing with multiple ear infections this past year. I know hounds with longer ears are more prone to ear infections but it seems like as soon as she gets over an infection she develops a new one soon after. I clean her ears out weekly with a wash my vet recommended but that’s about it. Any advice from people who’ve had similar issues with their babies?

Hello everyone, this is our newly adopted six month old puppy Bruna. We adopted her for a Rescue Centre in Greece and she is currently 11.5 kg. We have been wondering what breed or mix of breed she is as we have no clue. We think perhaps plott hound or Greek hare hound but would love some additional opinions!

So sad to think about what this dog has been through. Part of her tail is cut off, she has a big scar on her face, and shes afraid of everything and everyone especially men. 5 adoption meetings before me but nobody wanted her. I've wanted a little hound just like her for years now and when I learned more about her I knew she had to be my dog. Its been 2 days and shes already starting to show me that she feels safe. I can't wait to watch her become herself ❤️

Have any of you trained your hound to pull a sled (or a bike or to skijor)? I have an American foxhound who loves to pull. I saw a used kicksled for sale and it got me thinking it might be fun to train him up as a short distance/just for fun sled dog. Curious if anyone else has a sled dog hound! 😊

I have a beagle/foxhound cross and I love him dearly but he is truly the laziest dog I have ever met. I’m a big hiker and outdoorsman (fishing, hiking, kayaking, hunting) but I don’t even hike particularly long distances and my pup just doesn’t like them. Doesn’t like the outdoors at all actually.
He’s getting on in years so thinking a bit on my next dog. I love hounds for their affable and friendly personalities.
Overall looking for a breed that:
-doesn’t exceed 80lbs
-likes water and wants to swim
-enough energy to want to hike 5 miles or generally be outside all day engaging in various activities
-enjoys fetch
-is naturally quite friendly

I've had my black and tan hound since she was a puppy, she's about 5 years old now. She's a typical high energy, high prey drive, and loud. I bought a house with a huge yard, privacy fence and kinda in the out skirts of the city. It's a dead end road and my neighbor has like 35+ acres of land.
I tried to get along with my neighbor. However, since I moved in she has complained about my dog barking. I've done everything I can to reduce the barking. I've gotten bark collars, medication, toys/chews, and recently every time I leave to stay the night somewhere, she comes with. She's a hound she's going to bark or bay, she has access to the inside and outside of my house and large backyard.
When I am home she is quiet and well behaved and when I leave I check on her with my cameras and most of the time she is sleeping in the recliner. When she isn't, she is usually running around in the yard--but not barking.
Today my neighbor sends me an all caps text demanding I do something about her barking or she'll call animal control. I told her I've done everything I can to stop their complaining... she demands I lock her inside, which I don't want to do because then she has accidents in the house.
I don't know what else to do besides rehome her or keep ignoring the neighbor. If I look to rehome her I would want an experienced hound owner who would spoil her like I do and give her the best hound life. She doesn't like small dogs/animals, gets along with bigger dogs but I'd prefer her an only dog. She is very loving and smart and can learn super fast. She has allergies and is on anxiety medication (which she could probably do without if she was with someone who worked from home or someone was home with her.)
Any suggestions?

I’m going through a very hard time at the moment mentally, and it’s making me realise just how grateful I am to have Scout. She’s been my best friend for 5 years, and she truly is my soulmate. Even after a long day she’ll always be there, waiting for me. It gives me purpose and a reason to smile and be happy and love, having her who relies on me for basic things, she doesn’t realise how much she does for me.
I have the sweetest girl to look forward to loving every day and I’m so grateful to have that. Dogs are amazing.

If anyone comes in, there's no doubt about who runs this house.
