I always do at least one day as Harley at Comic Con, but this year was special because my Squad!Harley is finally 99.999999% done. Sorry for the watermarks but the photo stealing bots on this app are insidious.
Also I do cameo as Harley which is how I even got to do this convention this year - a client wanted footage and swag so got my tickets.

Am I on the right track with understanding Harley? I've seen many people saying she can't or that she shouldn't be redeemed. And while i agree that she was not the perfect victim, that she did some bad things before meeting joker, to me her guild and remorse weights a lot in thinking she can change with support. I'll give you more context, also what I have in mind for my project.

So far i've read her main pre n52 appearances. I plan on writing her for an alternate universe i'm working on and i'm a bit nervous tbh. Since my take is she did awful things because of her family situation (like we saw in Gotham City Sirens, her mom criticizing her and her father being a criminal and manipulating her in a similar way joker does), her finally snapping (like she tried to be successful and poised all her life and this just isn't her) and finally because with each attrocious thing she does she thinks she just can't be redeemed so she does even worse things. (As we saw in her 2000 series). She was in love with the joker because of what happened with her first bf, Guy, but joker was also an outlet to her frustrations. Anyways, in my work she's supposed to get help from a (beginner) psychiatrist. They clash, they bond, Harley tried to kill her because she's afraid the girl will end up like her. But in the end, harley gets a glimpse of hope that she'll get better, so she stays in arkham. After ofc she'd still have her lack of social awareness (like in that BTAS episode where she was roleskating through a crowd with her hyenas) and she'd still have the urge to murder ppl when pissed off, she'll need a lot of support to calibrate herself and find a way to let out her craziness in an somewhat healthy way. So in my au, she'll be redeemed, but she won't be a vigilante, she'll try to have a "normal" life. And i also see her as quite indifferent about the world so she wouldn't feel the need to help people, only if she went through the same problem and relates to them or if it's a really world-ending threat.
