This project had been sitting for quite some time but finally got around to it and real happy how it turned out. As a huge Elden Ring fan, it’s probably my favorite boss so it made a unique challenge. Base kit is FM Aerial, but also used HG barbatos lupus Rex, 30MF Dragonia, Red Frame Astray Kai and a few other odds and ends. Will be posting more up on at ZXP.Models. Hope yall like it and happy to answer any questions!

This is a summary of review #5503 on dalong.net.
Full review, 82 photos: https://www.dalong.net/reviews/sd/mgsd06/mgsd06_p_e.htm
The biggest hit of 2026. First Universal Century unit in the MGSD line — surprising it beat a Gundam to it. Likely a kit with a huge fanbase that was too much of a burden as a proper MG, so they pivoted to MGSD.
The good:
The bad:
Overall: beautiful, well-made, and satisfying in gimmicks and detail — but they got too ambitious with the binders and the weight ballooned into headaches everywhere. Workload is on par with a high-end MG. The cruel irony is that it’s a kit built to be posed dramatically on a stand, and it’s one of the hardest kits ever to actually get on one. Expect third-party stand reinforcement products to show up.
Worth recommending? Yes. Clear craftsmanship. The reviewer wouldn’t want to build it twice, but says it’s exactly the kind of kit worth experiencing once.

I see a lot of people say things like “Oh I could never paint kits, I could never customize, I don’t have the artistic skill/talent.”
Thing is…none of us do…when we start. Just because you don’t have the skills NOW does not mean you cannot develop them. It won’t always be easy, and you WILL make a ton of mistakes along the way; but we ALL have.
On social media we always see peoples’ successes but not their struggles and we rarely get to see where people started.
So I propose this: Experienced builders, let’s show people where we started and how far we’ve come. Hopefully it helps inspire someone who is afraid to give it a try.
For those just starting or afraid to go beyond just snap building. Give it a try!
You CAN make the art you want. It’s just a matter of practice.
Hand-painted with AK and Vallejo paint with Mr.weathering effect.

Gotta get some stands and figure out how to pose so I can start to display these guys! Decals in the near future but I think I’ll start another build as well, I’ve got a growing backlog and I’m not sure if I want to start the kampfer, gelgoog, or ball…..probably ball just for the uniqueness unless I’m advised otherwise
Had the opportunity to use some studio lights for a bit and couldn’t help throw the Zeta on there
Little guy I picked up recently. Gonna build his big brother soon!

Sorry if the pics are not great, I'm not the best at photography :p hope you guys like the little collection!
This is the Kero Robo MkII I abandoned almost a decade ago. It's a 2009 kit with the flaws you'd expect: weak color separation and gates in awkward spots. I'd built the Kururu Robo first and was so let down by how different it looked from the box art that I never started this one.
"Perfection is the enemy of progress," as the saying goes.
A few months ago I got the itch to build again, and the RG gramps welcomed me back with a red carpet. The undergating, the color separation and the engineering crammed into such a small kit made me fall in love with the hobby again.
Since then I've picked up some experience (and proper tools), and when my boss went on a business trip to my home country, I remembered this guy was still sitting in my old room. The box was barely bigger than a cereal box, so it hitched a ride to Germany, and I tackled it this weekend.
It took a bit of work to look nice compared to newer kits, but with my new "just build it first" mindset I finished it, and I'm not unhappy with the result. And just like that, I technically finished my patient zero backlog kit!

Hey guys, this is my first post in this thread. A few weeks ago I was in Japan and while browsing the figure shops, I saw they were having a clearance sale on several boxes, and the Japanese were buying them in bulk. They were Gundam model kits. So I took advantage of the sale and brought back six figures. This is my first build, and since I saw that people were customizing them, I bought Stedi Panel Liners and acrylic markers with the help of YouTube videos. What do you think of my first build? Thanks so much for this great hobby, and I'll be posting my other builds soon. P.S.: I'm already watching Gundam Wing, so my next build will be the RG I bought, hehe. I actually bought several kits without knowing anything about Gunpla; I just went for the ones I thought looked the best.

Hi all! This is my 5th ever kit (first MG) and I just finished up the inner frame and wanted to share! I’ve spent the lest couple days trying to pretty it up as best I can with some panel lining, but I know I’m new so if there are any suggestions I’d gladly take them!
(Btw apologies if the lighting is bad, I’ve never really taken posing photos before)

Ft. MS Ensemble White Gundam and HG RX-78-2 Revive
I love the White Gundam, but he's never a variant of Grandpa to me.

It was definitely an experience! After seeing the life-size statue in Japan before it got taken down, I picked up this kit at Gundam base Tokyo. And of course now I'm addicted to plastic crack... I should have bought more while there.
In retrospect, it was not the easiest kit with some of its flaws, but it wasn't as terrible as some make it out to be. I was not aware at the time that it had some frame issues, being brand new to Gunpla and all. However, I have zero regrets buying it. I would have absolutely been disappointed and probably not have gotten hooked if I bought an entry grade or something similar that people always recommend for beginners.
Of course, a notorious piece broke, and then some, leading me to learn how to make sprue glue... amongst many other plamo techniques. I do believe this is my first plastic kit I've ever finished and I'm extremely satisted with the results. Not everything was perfect but I think that's what kept my attention and piqued my curiosity to improve. I think this kit gave a decent enough challenge, and set expectations for the hobby. I definitely look forward to getting my hands dirtier and getting deeper into customization techniques, as well as experiencing more complex and challenging builds! If any of you have cool first experiences in the hobby to share I'd love to hear it!
For those curious, I hit it with a black light and did some color correction and touch ups in my paint program for the first image.

This could have absolutely gone better. But I guess all things considered, it could have also gone worse. Going for symmetry is kind of a bitch no matter how diligently you try to measure and use reference points. I supposed the one thing I am relatively proud of is I accidentally scratched outside of the lines I meant to near the bottom left hole but I managed to mostly repair that with some plastic cement and a tiny piece of sprue. You can only just kind of see where it was and I can't feel it when I run my nail across it so paint should finish hiding that it ever happened.

I somehow managed to avoid HG's since i started model kits, a few years ago.
but this weekend while looking for a cool gift for a dear friend, who's likewise a massive fellow nerd, HG Lfrith Anavata caught my eye and the old trend w/ pelican cases came to mind :)
Pretty easy build and the kit is cool too, although very pricey in Canada. Had to take the backpack off in order to fit the case and hot glue was used where it would normally attach to stop the kit from wobbling around.
I like the anavata's lab subject design, it seems to fit well inside a tomb-like case!
PS: I am only slightly worried now that the little bit of got glue at the back is not enough to keep her in place for long. Will give it a few shakes/carries as a stress test before gifting :)
