PLAY best thing I’ve seen this month
came across this guy on my fyp and he’s honestly soo good I wanted to share it with more people!
At 11 y/o Jonathan Pellegrín Fonseca suffered severe injuries as a result of a dynamite explosion. Since then, music has become a refuge for him and he has taught himself on his own way how to create and play his own beats.

PLAY I got a 7 string acoustic and have been working on some ideas with it
QUESTION What are these lines on my guitar and why r they so identical?
galleryI just bought a Yamaha F310 off Amazon. And I was wondering, are these lines from joining 3 pieces of wood together? Or is it natural? as I feel like it makes my guitar look weird and square, is this normal for it to be completely identical on each side. I haven’t really seen this on other guitars.
Thanks.

PURCHASE Got my first electric guitar :D
Picked this up for $150 at an estate sale. I think its a reasonable price for a used guitar. What do you guys think?
Now i need an amp, any recommendations?

QUESTION Am I ready for an open mic night?
Do y'all think I'm ready for a local open mic night.... or should I practice my singing/picking more first?
The interlude was a little more rough than when I usually play it... still struggling to pick over the changing barre chords.
I live in toronto and am trying to build more of a network of people to play with at parties, bonfires, open mic nights, jams etc! I have very little-no experience playing with/around others.
FYI I was practicing another song first and thought it would be a cute video with my cat so this was first take.

DISCUSSION Beware Arcane Amps in Portland, OR
I brought my Echoplex EP-3 to Trevor in August 2025 for repairs, and as of October 2026, I still have not received it back.
We initially agreed that I could pick it up in October 2025 while I was in Portland for a wedding. After keeping me waiting for several hours, Trevor eventually told me it was not ready. Since then, I have made numerous attempts to retrieve my equipment, including another trip to Portland, without success.
In addition to the extended delay, Trevor has accepted a deposit and a substantial additional payment to continue the repairs. Communication has been extremely frustrating. Calls and text messages frequently go unanswered. When I have managed to reach him by phone, he has provided detailed explanations of the work he supposedly completed, but he has still not returned my equipment.
After more than a year, I am left without my gear despite paying for repairs and making repeated efforts to resolve the situation.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop. If you value your equipment, your time, and clear communication, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

GEAR NGD! Am Ultra II Strat
galleryI'm so happy! I picked up a second job, and I've been putting some money back to get some new gear. My dad handed me down a modded 2008 American standard Strat, and I love that guitar. Was wanting to add to my collection, and I went through a few Gibsons (Les Pauls and SGs), some PRSs, and some Fenders, and I finally landed on this one. It plays great! I saw that someone else recently got one of these on here, and wanted to share =]
GEAR Unexpected double NGD
I ordered the Firefly late last week to be a cheap mod experiment. The finishing on this guitar for the price is really a pleasant surprise. The Harmony was completely unexpected. I was at a local Guitar Center and picked it up to see how it felt and couldn’t put it down.

PLAY The Power Gig guitar, the worst guitar ever made, being played into a Marshall DSL-20
For the uninitiated, the Power Gig guitar is a guitar/game controller released with Power Gig: Rise of the Six String, a game meant as a Rock Band or Guitar Hero competitor, but with an actual guitar. The problem, of course, is that the controller sucks and the game didn't take advantage of it.
I picked this thing up for about $50 on Ebay earlier this year alongside the game, and the stock strings really highlighted how much this thing sucks. They were a 10-46 set and felt like rubber bands. Chords sounded awful. However, last week I got around to swapping them out with a 12-56 set of Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky strings, and tuned it down to Drop C. The result was shockingly high tuning stability and chords that actually sounded good. At home I stumbled on the right combination of pedal and amp for a nice nu metal tone, but here it's just a Marshall and a tube screamer. Enjoy!

NEWBIE Get a guitar you love looking at, see how fast you improve
galleryDeciding to start trying to seriously learn to play about a month and a half ago, started on a cheap silvertone Strat copy that was gifted to me. Recently picked this up and haven’t been able to stay away from it. I think there’s some truth to the sentiment that buying a new guitar makes you want to play more

PURCHASE First LP. 1992 Standard.
galleryPicked up this 92 off of reverb. Pickups were backward ( maybe intentional - idk ) and it had different knobs and a blank truss cover. Thankfully the dude had the original. Didn’t have a pick guard but I wanted to find a top that stood on its own. One of the knobs needed soldering. Dropped it off at my local music store and they got it set up right.
Sounds freaking awesome and looks cool as hell.
