Gift suggestion Gift idea needed for parents

I am 27 years old (M) and am the youngest of 4. My parents were a bit older when they had me (39) so now they are 66. It upsets me a little when I see other people my age whose parents are just turning 50 or 55. Because of that, I make sure to appreciate them and enjoy every moment I have with them. Family is everything to me.

Anyways, I’m looking for a simple gift I can give to them that involves a letter or note about how much I appreciate them for everything they have done for me and the rest of our family and how much I love them. My fear is not letting them know how I feel before it’s too late. I’m sure there are many people in the world who lose their parents and never get the chance to let them know how much they mean to them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

“Don't wait until it's too late to pour your heart out. Tell the people you love what they mean to you while they're still here to hear it, because someday, the words you leave unspoken may be the ones you regret the most.”

Need gift suggestions Copper suggestions please?

Does anyone have any ideas for a “copper” anniversary gift? It’s for my husband, and I wanted something practical or at least an actual gift if that makes sense - everything I’ve seen tends be just symbolic or decorative.

He’s early 30s very into his coffee machine set up, pizza oven, football (well Soccer, we’re in the UK), music, hiking with our dog, board games, watching tv/films

Need help finding a specific gift do online flower deliveries actually arrive on the day you choose?

• Upvotes

i feel like flowers are one of those gifts where timing matters almost as much as the gift itself. if you're sending a bouquet for a birthday or anniversary, having it arrive a day late kind of defeats the point 😭 i've been looking into the best flower delivery services online and i noticed Teleflora works with local florists for hand arranged, hand delivered bouquets. they also offer same day delivery on many arrangements, which sounds convenient for last minute occasions. i'm curious how reliable that is in practice, especially when you're ordering for a particular date.

for those who've ordered flowers online, do you usually schedule the delivery ahead of time or take a chance on same day delivery? have you had any issues with timing or getting the arrangement you expected?

Gift suggestion Book lovers are hard to shop for when they already own half the bookstore

I need a unique birthday gift for someone who is very much a book lover, but buying an actual book feels risky. They either already own it, want a different edition, or have very specific taste that I respect but can’t predict. I was thinking a book nook or tiny library-style kit could be a nice middle ground because it still fits the book theme without making me guess their next read. For people who like bookish gifts, would that feel thoughtful? Or is there another gift idea that feels personal without being another “here is a mug with words on it” situation?

Need gift suggestions-mother Do you give a gift when your friend’s mom dies?

• Upvotes

My friend lost her mom recently. It was at times a difficult situation, but I believe she was very close with her. For context, this friend watched my cat for me when I was divorcing and between homes because my ex was going to put the 12 yo cat in a shelter. I’d like to get her a little something but I’m not sure she needs it, and like most people, funds are a bit tight. Any gift suggestions would be appreciated.

Gift suggestion Looking for a budget gift that isn't just another plastic toy?

Made a coloring and activity book for 6-8 year olds that sneaks in early tech concepts. 40 pages, mazes, quizzes, and even a diploma at the end. It's under ten bucks and keeps kids busy for hours. Great stocking stuffer. 🤖

Need gift suggestions Advent Calendar for Group

Hi all, first time poster but love this sub!

Every year, my high school friends and I purchase the same advent calendar(s) and open them “together”’daily across the country.

We like ones that have activities—like legos—but that’s not a requirement per se.

We are trying to stay on a limited budget, because we’ve all had health issues this year.

We are in our early 40s (90s babies)!

Need gift suggestions Brain surgery gifts

My loved one is having brain surgery to remove a tumor. 4 days in the hospital, a solid 10 days with no activity, 6 weeks to moderate activity. Many people have asked to help. I was thinking about doing an Amazon wishlist to refer them to. What should I add? Cozy things? Entertainment? Something whimsical?

Need gift suggestions-BF Help me with gift ideas for my boyfriend’s birthday!

I’m trying to find a birthday gift for my boyfriend, but he’s genuinely so hard to shop for because he already has everything and has very expensive taste. He loves philosophy, poetry, literature, and art, especially Caspar David Friedrich and Vermeer. He’s a Sufi and is very interested in Islamic philosophy, Rumi, divine oneness, and the idea of seeing Allah’s signs throughout creation. He’s fascinated by the concept of time, existence, and the deeper meaning behind things, and he loves Waiting for Godot, especially the line “Nothing to be done.” He also loves fine watches, Creed Aventus, and reading, and he has a beautiful, peaceful personal library filled with books and artwork. I want to get him something elegant, artistic, intellectually interesting, and genuinely meaningful rather than something generic. My budget is around $100–$200, and I’ve been considering something related to time, like a unique sundial or a beautifully crafted object for his library but also open to anything else. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!!

Need gift suggestions Seeking Advice on a Parent’s Wedding Gift for My Daughter

Thumbnail

My daughter is getting married early next month, and I’m still trying to decide on the right wedding gift for her.

My wife and I divorced last year. Originally, I thought it would be nice for us to put some money together and give our daughter one meaningful wedding gift from both of us. Unfortunately, my ex-wife wasn't interested in doing that, so I've decided to choose and pay for the gift myself.

After looking at several options, I’m seriously considering a 1 oz American Gold Eagle Proof Coin in its original presentation box.

I want to give my daughter something special that she can keep for many years, something with real value but also a meaningful reminder of her father on her wedding day.

I would really appreciate some honest opinions, especially from parents who have been through this. Would you consider this a thoughtful and generous wedding gift, or would you recommend something different?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

Need gift suggestions Advent calendar for 14 year old boy

Any thoughts on a fun advent calendar for a 14 year old boy? Every year I get all nieces and nephews an advent calendar - ideally $100 or less.

The one I’m stumped on is a 14 year old boy. He lives in the country, he’s into hunting, fishing (a world I know nothing about) not really sports or pop culture, etc.

Last year I got him a fishing advent calendar which he seemed to really like, have done Lego in the past which is always an easy fall back on if need be.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!!

Need gift suggestions What's a gift that landed because it matched something small they said once?

My sister mentioned offhand in March that her neck kills her in the tub. I forgot about it completely, then remembered a week before her birthday and got her a bathtub pillow, Monsuri's, $44.90, the kind that suctions to the tub. The price was the part I second-guessed.

She didn't say much at first. Two weeks later she texted me that she'd stopped dreading Sunday nights. Not a big gift, but it told her I'd been listening.

So what did someone mention once that you filed away for months? And did it go over the way you pictured?

Gift suggestion A smart ring could actually be a pretty good gift idea

Prime Day always gets me thinking about gifts, especially with the good deal.

I was looking at the Circul ring recently, as I planned to give that to my mom, she's interested in health tracking but doesn't necessarily want to wear a smartwatch all day, and the adjustable design caught my attention. Ring sizing can be such a pain when you're buying something for someone else, so being able to adjust the fit instead of guessing one exact size seems like a pretty practical idea.

Obviously it's still worth checking whether the person would actually enjoy wearing a ring, but I feel like this could be a nice gift for someone who likes useful tech rather than another gadget that ends up sitting in a drawer.

Need gift suggestions Personalized advent calendar ideas

Hey Reddit!

I (33M) need your help with a special project.

I’m putting together an advent calendar for my fiancé (32M) for December. I make him a different one every year, however this year’s calendar I’m looking to fill it with high quality/luxury personalized items for him. Alternatively, the items could also be a nod to our upcoming wedding next year.

I’ve already collected a couple small items from his favourite brands and a local chocolate maker, but am struggling to think of what else could fit in the little bags (18 left). ANY suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I’m pretty excited for him to see this advent calendar! I made it using an old wooden cassette organizer. I’ll be writing the numbers on tags for each day (only one is attached in the photo).

Thanks in advance!
