help finding job

• Upvotes

It honestly came to searching on here because the job market is so bad and the jobs i’ve applied for simply aren’t reaching out. Makes it frustrating when you came from a job that was great but I had to part ways from the company (no i wasn’t fired). Now that I’m back and searching again and have a well put resume (so i think) there’s nothing available. I do want to go back to school but I have no financial help so I need something again in the meantime so I can work towards going back to school. I’m looking for work around the upper atlanta area like Sandy springs or in Gwinnett county. I have 6 years of customer service experience and some leadership skills. I also previously studied business and psychology but never got the degree but like i said i do wanna go back to that. If you know of any place pls pls DM me or leave a comment under. I hope this can also help anyone else looking for a job in these areas too.

7 biz days since final-style panel, 3 since HR said "next steps" — offer coming?

Director-level role. I came in as an internal referral (a member of senior leadership on the inside recommended me). Spoke with hiring manager, things got busy on their end, then they reached back out like a month later.

I then had an interview that was a single panel with the hiring manager, one person from senior leadership, and HR all at once.

Four days after, I sent thank-yous. HR replied within minutes: "We'll be in touch with next steps."

Where it stands now:
~7 business days since the panel
~3 business days since HR's "next steps" reply
No rejection, no update since.

Would "next steps" usually mean an offer at this stage or just polite?

Do offers usually come early week?

How to account for why you are only at a place for 3 month or less due to failing probation?

0 Upvotes

The best action is of course to just say things straight but unfortunately wo bu jue de that is a good move as it spell out hen duo problem with you and especially if it is relevant to the new role you are looking to shen qing it will hurt the chance since they might end up jue de if you fail at x because of this and that now why wouldn't you again fail at x because of the same zhi qian reason or something

What jobs are can someone start at the beginning of a calendar year?

1 Upvotes

Been working in NYC for 2 years and I’m applying for a new day job, or jobs plural.

One of my current jobs is seasonal and may be fully recessed for the first quarter of 2027 and, either way, it’s time for change.

What jobs and job industries are known for hiring people at the beginning of a calendar year? Does anyone have success stories for getting hired during or prior to this “slow time”?

I’m open to part time or full time positions. I have a communications degree and experience in both administrative office and service industry positions. I pride myself on being flexible, adaptable, and qualified for all sorts of jobs in the city.

Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts and experiences :) Any advice would be appreciated!

How tf do I make money in college???

0 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m currently a college student and I am struggling to find a part time job and I am desperate for any ideas. I go to a relatively small university and there’s not an overflowing pool of job opportunities that I know of. I’ve applied to many places but haven’t gotten hired (I have what I believe to be a pretty well rounded job experience).

I am also a music major and play multiple instruments, so I would love to give lessons but I haven’t had any luck trying to do that here. So if anyone has ideas with that, lmk.

But I am desperate, I have some money saved up but not a ton. I have a cat and a car payment and the number in my bank account is getting lower and I’m getting more and more stressed.

If anyone has any ideas on ways to make money, I’m all ears.

How to feel motivated after consistent rejections?

10 Upvotes

I have been unemployed for almost 2 years now. Everyday I hope today would be different. Today maybe I will get an opportunity that realises I am a great person to have on their team. I have been doing it consistently for almost 2 years now.

Would love to understand is this just me? Because I see my friends getting jobs. Maybe it's just me!

Microsoft offer (PERM suspended) vs Expedia offer (files PERM) — what would you choose?

0 Upvotes

Need some honest advice from people who've been in similar situations.

I'm on H-1B with about 5 years left on my 6-year limit, so I realistically need a PERM filed in the next ~1.5–2 years to stay extendable beyond that. My current employer basically doesn't do PERM at all, which is why I was job hunting.

**Option 1 — Microsoft (SDE II, L62):** Offer signed, background check completed, and the H-1B transfer is already in process — their immigration team says the petition will be filed in ~4–6 weeks. Microsoft clearly pays more than Expedia. BUT as everyone knows, Microsoft's PERM processing is currently suspended by DOL, with no clear timeline on when (or if) it resumes.

**Option 2 — Expedia (SDE II):** Completed my final round and expecting an offer. Pay will be lower than Microsoft, but they've confirmed they file PERM for employees, and they're not on any suspension list.

My questions:

  1. What would you choose — the bigger company + higher pay with PERM uncertainty, or the smaller company with a clear PERM path?
  2. Does anyone have insight into whether Microsoft will come out of this PERM suspension? Any internal news on how long this could last?
  3. If I skip Microsoft now — after signing, with their transfer process almost a month from done — will Microsoft blacklist me or flag me for future employment? This is my biggest worry about walking away.

Appreciate any real experiences, especially from anyone at Microsoft on H-1B right now.

[Guide] How I send 15-20 job applications a day on autopilot: fresh job listings with DeepSeek's Search API (~$0.17 per full sweep) + an AI agent that applies

0 Upvotes

I'm a creative strategist (paid social), and this setup lets me send about 15-20 applications a day. It works for any job title and any country; just change the keywords. Here's the full guide.

What you need

  • A DeepSeek API key with a few dollars of balance ($2 is plenty)
  • Python 3 (no libraries needed, standard library only)
  • An AI agent that can browse and send messages: I use Hermes Agent (running on DeepSeek V4.1 Flash) and ChatGPT. Claude or DeepSeek alone work too, since the job list is plain text
  • Your CV and a few message templates

Step 1: Understand the tool (2 min)

DeepSeek has a standalone Search API: POST https://api.deepseek.com/v1/tools/search, billed at $0.75 per 1,000 calls. It supports Google-style operators:

Operator What it does Example
site: Limit to a site or country subdomain site:fr.linkedin.com/jobs
after: / before: Date window after:2026-10-11
"..." Exact phrase "creative strategist"

Each result returns a title, URL and publication date. Max 50 results per call.

Step 2: Run your first search

Put your key in an environment variable (never in the code):

export DEEPSEEK_API_KEY="your_key"

import json, os, urllib.request

def search(query, count=50):
    req = urllib.request.Request(
        "https://api.deepseek.com/v1/tools/search",
        data=json.dumps({"query": query, "count": count, "need_content": False}).encode(),
        headers={"Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['DEEPSEEK_API_KEY']}",
                 "Content-Type": "application/json"})
    return json.load(urllib.request.urlopen(req, timeout=60))["results"]

for r in search('site:fr.linkedin.com/jobs "creative strategist" after:2026-10-11'):
    print((r.get("date") or "?")[:10], r["title"], r["url"])

Step 3: Scale it up

50 results per call is the cap, so split your search:

  • country: one subdomain each (uk., fr., de., es., it., nl., ca. + plain linkedin.com)
  • job title: add variants and translations ("creative strategy", "paid social creative", "stratège créatif")
  • date windows: e.g. 2-month slices with after: and before:

Then loop over every combination, wait 2 seconds between calls (to avoid 429 errors), dedupe by URL, and sort by date.

My real numbers: 8 countries × 5 titles × 8 date windows = 320 calls, 0 errors, about $0.17. That returned 2,394 results, 652 relevant, 139 from the last month. For a daily run you only need a short date window, so it's a handful of calls.

Step 4: Give the list to your agent

Paste the list (title, link, date) into your agent with a prompt like this:

You are applying for me. Here is a list of job postings.
Target: only postings whose title contains "<your title>" (and <related titles>
I'm happy to apply for). Never apply to <excluded roles>, volunteering or unpaid work.
For each posting: follow what the post asks (form, email or DM).
Only write what is on my CV (attached). Use my message template (attached).
If anything is unclear (no template fits, unexpected page, my status unclear):
do NOT send, add it to a "To decide" list for me.
Only say "sent" if you have proof. Log every application
(company, role, link, date, channel) in the tracking file.
Daily cap: 20 applications.

Step 5: Safety rules I use (copy these)

  1. Strict target list with explicit exclusions.
  2. Only facts from your real CV. No invented experience.
  3. A shared daily cap if you run several agents, so you never go over platform limits.
  4. Never two agents on the same account at the same time.
  5. "To decide" list: when in doubt, the agent doesn't send.
  6. Proof of sending + a tracking file.
  7. A nightly recap: what was sent, by which agent, how much of the quota is used.

Step 6: Put it on a schedule

Run the search script every morning with a short window (after: = yesterday) and hand the fresh list to the agent. Use a cron job (crontab -e), or your agent's own scheduled tasks. Mine runs the search, then the application session, then sends a recap in the evening.

Cost

  • Search: $0.75 per 1,000 calls (about $0.17 for my full 320-call sweep).
  • Agent: DeepSeek V4.1 Flash is $0.15 / 1M input tokens and $0.60 / 1M output tokens (cache miss, off-peak; double at peak hours).

Limits (read this)

  • It's an index, not live scraping: the freshest results are about 2 days old, not 24h.
  • DeepSeek's Fetch endpoint is blocked by LinkedIn's login wall. Use Search.
  • Title keyword filtering means a few false positives, and I don't check whether a posting is still open.
  • Automating actions on LinkedIn or X can go against their terms. Keep volumes reasonable, supervise, and read what goes out.

Happy to share the full script if people want it.

So, I'm back

1 Upvotes

Last time I was here you people were super generous and gave me a ton of ideas for getting a job. I got a few recruiters reaching me out, I made a lot of changes to my résumé and my Linkedin page, I tried strategies and still nothing.

I live in a small town in South America. I'm about 25 km away from the main city of the country, so I'm really looking for a contractor role, specially for the US since one of my differentials is my English level. And I have no idea how to look for those jobs. They are not in Linkedin, the pages that are supposed to help me don't have Project Manager or Operations Manager roles or are paid (hi! I'm struggling to pay my bills, I can't afford one of those pages), and the gurus helping people want around U$ 1000 for helping you with the strategy.

I know I'm ranting a bit, but how I'm supposed to get a job like this? I just want to work!

Advice needed please

17 Upvotes

I 24F am close to giving up. Nowhere will hire me. I live just outside the Chattanooga TN area and not even Walmart will hire me. I haven’t been able to pay rent in months. Every place I apply to either ghosts me or turns me down, save for the 4 places that have interviewed me only to never get back to me afterwards. My resume is updated, my interview skills are pretty damn good, I have work experience. I’m falling into a depression I don’t know how to get out of. Any advice? I feel so useless and stupid.

What would be a good job to hop into going from apartment painting?

1 Upvotes

So right now the job is good and it's the only one I've known since high school and I'm almost 30. It's my dad's small painting company but despite that it pays well enough to get by and pay the bills I don't feel like it's been good for my mental health. I've struggled for a long time geting home at a reasonable time due to things like adhd where I tend to get distracted and low energy even with meds and as of the last two years I've struggled to get out of bed like my mind is awake but body is dead weight for like a hour before being able to move so I tend to get to work late and get home late because job is done when done with no punch in or out time. Think somthing with a bit more structure would be better since when I do have to meet up with some Co workers at a perticular time I'm much better at getting moving .

Current job has been great for podcasts and audio books because the jobs are usually solo with a lot of solace but in case situation ever ends up bad like dad dieing or business can't continue I was wondering what would be a good transition job to look at for somthing different that doesn't need schooling and can match my general pay of 1200-1400 biweekly in Pennsylvania. I've considered looking at warehouse work as my backup but I've heard horror stories about egoistical bosses and unsure how the job security is and I've heard great things about working at Costco but I've never worked anything close to retail and the various stories of "retail hell" I've been told has me a bit worried especially because I have a generalized anxiety disorder diagnosis although generally the main trigger for that is hostile arguments. The disorder I think is also making me over worry and over think the difficulty of transitioning to new jobs but the way the economy is, not haveing a good financial safety net atm really adds to that anxiety because I was lucky enough to get a mortgage and house right before things got real bad but savings took a hit after some perticular life event. Figured this place would be a good place to ask what a good transition job out of apartment painting would be since I assume those skills would transfer to some other thing relatively well.
