Hey everyone, I honestly don’t really know where else to ask this, but I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
My brother has cancer, and probably only has 1.5yr max to live and I’m his only caregiver. It’s been really difficult trying to balance everything, and one of the little things that makes him happy is getting his favourite food. He’s always loved Osmow’s and Wendy’s, but travelling back and forth to Ottawa from Gatineau to get him food isn’t always easy, especially with everything else going on.
It got me thinking, why isn’t there an easier way to get food delivered between Ottawa and Gatineau? I know it’s not that far, but delivery availability can be so frustrating depending on where you live.
Would it be worth starting a petition to encourage Uber Eats, DoorDash, or other delivery services to expand their delivery zones between the two cities? Or does anyone know another way to make this happen?
I’d really appreciate any suggestions because I’d love to make getting his favourite meals a little easier. ❤️

Luckily I noticed the car next to me slowing down so I slowed a bit as well

I moved across the river to Ottawa a few months ago and this is my first fall! I heard that Gatineau Park is overwhelmingly the best spot in the area to go. However, it's a big park and I would like some guidance on what are the best spots are. I would like to walk on a trail and spend a few hours taking in the scenery. I am located in downtown Ottawa and I do not have a car so I would be taking Uber or I think I heard there was a shuttle I could access by public transit? Has anyone been recently? Are the colours good or should I wait a bit more?

I’ve been before but I can’t remember, do they ask for your ID when you enter? I lost my drivers license this week, can’t get to service Ontario until next week. We’re supposed to be going on Sunday for our wedding anniversary and I don’t wanna be denied. I won’t be purchasing alcohol and I do have my valid health card. But normally nobody accepts a health card. TIA!!

My landlord is selling the half of the building that includes my unit and I'm not too certain what this means for me as a tenant.
I imagine my lease is protected and they wouldn't be able to force me to leave until it's up? Would they have a way to go around this, and what recourse would I then have?
What can/can't they do to rent prices after buying the building? I'm sure they're limited by the normal rent control rules, but I also imagine they'll be eager to try and recoup their investment by increasing rent prices.
There have been visits scheduled and it's been extremely inconvenient and invasive to my schedule. I've basically been needing to take time off whenever a visit is scheduled and that doesn't feel right to me. Do I need to be here for that shit? Feels like the landlord should be the one there to answer questions about the building, not me.
I'm all very new to this and it's been stressing me out greatly.. any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a furnace replacement. 2200sqft house, I already have ductwork, nothing additional needed (that I know of).
Had a guy from Thermo-Maitre take a look at my system today, and the final quote (before govt rebates) was $25k!
After rebates it was somewhere in the neighbourhood of $18.5k.
Am I naive or is this price a little crazy?

Salut !

💕 Looking to make some genuine female friendships! 💕
I'm hoping to connect with some like-minded women who are looking to build real friendships, have good conversations, grab coffee, go shopping, go for little adventures, or just hang out and enjoy each other's company.
I'm in a relationship with a 20-year age gap, and while I'm happy in my relationship, I sometimes find that it can be a little harder to connect with people who understand my situation without making assumptions or judgments.
I'd love to meet women who are open-minded, mature, kind, and accepting of the fact that everyone's life and relationships look different. I'm not looking for judgment or negativity, just genuine connections with women I can laugh with, talk to about life, and build a friendship with.
Whether you're single, in a relationship, or in a similar situation, I'd love to connect! 🫶
If this resonates with you, feel free to message me. I'd love to get to know you! 💗

Bonjour!
Merci!

hey i just moved to an apartment and in my building rules it says “Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited inside the dwelling, on balconies, or in common areas.”
i live in a semi-basement unit, does the stairs outside that goes down going to the basement unit front door count as common areas? would i be able to smoke there?
if not, would you guys have any recommendations for smoking areas where its quiet and you can just have some peace. first time in the province so i’m still learning, thankyou ! 😊

Was a really nice day in the city today, got out to the river, rode around some parks, everything felt crisp and fresh. I had to stop on the bridge because the river was so glorious looking with a great blue sky.

Hey! First-time renter here 🥹 Would you guys recommend renting a cheaper place where heat and electricity aren’t included but is $1,110, or paying more for an all-inclusive apartment $1400+ in gatineau?
I see a lot of rentals that seem cheaper but don’t include utilities, and I’m wondering if I’m missing something. Which option usually ends up being cheaper in the long run, especially during winter?
What are the pros and cons of each? I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Please be nice, I’m still learning! 😊
