I'm working to create a mold of a 1955 Corvette custom rear fender for a buddy. This is from a racecar that saw some 'action' at Watkins Glen a few weeks back.
I scanned the opposite side fender, mirrored, scaled, etc, then used forms to create the desired match with the scanned mesh body.
I'm left with a clean-looking fender face, but it's basically an empty shell. When I go to do a combine/intersect with a solid rectangular prism to create an 'inverse' it'll let me pick the rectangular prism as the target, but I cannot select the fender as the cutting tool.
My end goal is to create an inverse mold I can drop into my 3D slicer, chop into pieces, print, assemble and then use for a fiberglass mold.
I'm struggling bouncing around between Fusion, MeshLab and Blender (latter two I have 0% experience with), so I'm kind of bogged down.
Can anyone point me in a sane direction for untangling this? I'd appreciate any guidance anyone can lend. Thanks!
