During the 1940s, Hermann Göring, a powerful leader of Nazi Germany urged German football clubs to surrender their trophies which should be melted for use during the war. Although a many German clubs gave in to this appeal, FC Bayern Munich did not lose their trophies.

As soon as the Allies started to bomb Munich in 1942, Bayern Munich trophies became threatened once more.

It is then that Mrs Magdalena Heidkamp, who was married to Bayern Munich team captain Conny Heidkamp, came up with an idea.

Thinking about the farm in Ascholding that she used to vacation at when young, she contacted the owner of the farm and arranged for trophies to be placed in boxes and carried by a wood-gas engine car. The trophies were kept in a room near stables to avoid any bombings.

With the approaching American forces in spring 1945, the couple thought that there was a possibility of stealing the trophies as mementos. Therefore they buried their treasures again.

Many of the Bayern Munich trophies were thus saved.

PSG have won the Champions League in back-to-back seasons and now have the chance to do something only Real Madrid have achieved in the Champions League era: win it three years in a row.

Madrid won three consecutive titles between 2016 and 2018, a run that has looked almost impossible to replicate.

PSG are now one trophy away from matching it.

Looking at the current European contenders, do you think PSG have a realistic chance of completing the three-peat this season, or is Madrid’s record still a step too far?

That day, as Maradona recounted:

"We were so poor that the match against Talleres was played in scorching heat, but the only pants I had to wear were corduroy. The kids wore corduroy in winter, but what did I care about the heat when my heart was pounding so hard? In the locker room, my teammates were giving me strange looks, but I was in my own world."

Entering the game in the second half:

"The second ball I received came to me while my back was turned. When I sensed Juan Domingo Cabrera closing in to mark me, I feinted, spread my legs, and slipped the ball right through them. It was a clean nutmeg. Immediately, I heard the crowd shout, 'Oleeeee'"

After the match:

"That afternoon, I felt like I had touched the sky. When the match ended, I walked away, whistling softly to myself, ready to take the two buses and the train back to Fiorito. I got home, had the usual dinner with my family, and we went to sleep. But I was already a First Division player."

I don't really get why some big clubs keep promising 18–20 year olds around the first team all season just to give them the odd 10-minute appearance.

I get that training with top players and coaches helps, but surely playing regularly on loan would be better for their development?

Then again, a bad loan where they're sitting on someone else's bench probably isn't much better either.

Would you rather your club loan a young player out or keep them training with the first team?

The legal debate surrounding the application of Article 82 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) regulations calls for a technical, objective, and rigorous analysis of its syntax. Beyond emotional arguments, a legistic analysis of the text proves that the material elements required to establish an offence are simply not present. The core of this argument lies in the article’s punctuation, which strictly divides administrative authority from on-field referee jurisdiction.
