It’s still visually perfect, but I came all the way to Spain to buy it. I guess I’m fortunate there was still one to buy. Otherwise this post would be about having to buy it in a different color.

I live in a Canadian climate that can get extremely cold in winter.

My 14th (and top) floor apartment is almost always perfectly warm without me having to ever turn on the heat, probably because everyone below and around me turns on the heat.

But it's always just a little too warm, and I will sweat at night sometimes.

No people upstairs to hear stomping around, a great view, but a tad warm - woe is me!

(In the real dead of winter the cold can be at a dangerous level and cracking the window isn't really a good idea.)

Why would somebody not want to feel like they're submerged in another world when they're in the privacy of their living room and/or bedroom. Why would they not think that it's the most awesome thing in the world?

And béarnaise doesn’t hold or reheat. What a waste just for two little filets mignon.

The agony

It's at 100%, but getting out of this blanket feels like too much work. Guess I'll just lie here and stare at the ceiling.

I plugged my phone in at the other end of the room, got comfortable in bed and now my screen lights up with a notification.

I have two choices: get up and check it or live with the mystery.

Honestly, both options are exhausting. 💀

We’re just about at the top of a waiting list for an apartment at an expensive senior facility, and after having a couple of major expenses to fix things this year we’re trying to avoid fixing anything else before we move, but there’s no telling how long it’s going to take until one of the apartments we want becomes available.

(And I’m not just going to get a watch because I hate wearing watches due to sensory issues.)

Executive members are allowed in an hour early, at 9:00 am before the store opens at 10:00. This has always been a peaceful, enjoyable time to shop. The store was never crowded and I was always happy to get out the door by 10 when the doors opened for the general masses.

But now there are so many Executive members that the early shopping hour has become crowded. Today when I walked in at 9:10 am there was a group of people just inside completely blocking the way. They were just talking and completely oblivious to the fact that people were trying to get around them.

In several aisles children were running amok and getting in the way.
