So I played the demo on Steam on my high end gaming PC and loved it! I love HD-2D Pixel games and this is by far my favorite experience as someone who never played the old FF pixel games. Though I love playing games on my PC, sometimes I just like to chill and relax in bed next to the wifey and turn off my brain with my Switch 2. The 2 games i'm most excited for rn are, the Zelda remake on switch 2 and this FFR game. I got the switch 2 for mainstream switch games (that didn't go really well cause there isn't a lot out there yet lol), but i found myself buying Dragonquest I II & III and really enjoyed it on my switch 2. Besides that I mostly have Nintendo games on my Switch. As a new dad at 29 years old I find myself wanting to just enjoy fun single player games more than competitive games. To me I love visuals in a game. It's a big priority for me honestly. I've seen some reviews about how it's not to noticeable from PC to Switch 2. Seeing that handheld and dock stays around 60fps on the Switch 2 vs 120fps or higher on PC. I'm not to big on mods, but wondering if I would be missing out on a lot more content to help the quality of life of the game? Idk, kinda stuck on deciding which to buy for. Maybe buy on Switch 2 and then steam when it goes on sale some day? Idk. I have a back log of steam games, but I know for sure this one I will play in one stretch and just want to make the right decison on which system to buy for. Anyways, let me know your all's opinion. Okay yall, I honestly thought I wasnt going to enjoy this game. I really thought "I already played this game." And i didnt need the story. Then I played the demo. It limited my ability to play effectively, till the game came out. . . . And oh my goodness, I honestly think I feel like Im playing the mobile game, just on the switch. Im okay with it. It took some getting use to, but I am only playing on expert, and im realizing, just into Ramuh that there's a tiny bit of strategy and leveling required to do. I love it, and actually feel like this is an example of a good Final Fantasy (Personal opinion).

So far, Im grinding Lid's visions out before taking on Ramuh -.- (playing my way!)

I know this might be silly since this is a pixel game and all, but are there any alt outfits for our party members? I think I saw people mention that in BE, alt outfits could be bought from stores or whatnot. Just curious if we get something in this version? I assume not, since I haven't seen or heard anything, but it would be neat if we did.

Question for you all while im at work. For those of you who have gotten to start the game(game will be out by the time I'm out of work), do you miss anything from starting from the demo? Achievements, gear, story, side quests? Im very much a completionist when it comes to jrpgs.

I also got the digital deluxe edition and was wondering if starting from the demo messes with pre-order and deluxe bonuses.

Just finished a heavy gym session, got cleaned up, downed my post-workout protein, and settled into the chair right as the game unlocked.

I actually had my progress from the demo ready to transfer over, but something about starting completely fresh on Expert difficulty for those bonus MRPs just felt right. If we're going to dive back into Lapis, we might as well make it a proper challenge from minute one. :-)

How is everyone else tackling day one? Did you guys carry your demo save over, or are you joining the fresh Expert run club?

EDIT: Just finished today's session after reaching Martira and getting my first two visions at level 6 on expert mode. It took me 2 hrs and 13 minutes of in-game time. Do you guys know you can enter the hidden backdoor behind the inn in Martira for a treasure chest?

Is it just me, or does Lasswell's Limit Burst animation feel completely wrong for his character?

Lasswell is supposed to be this elegant, lightning-fast swordsman. While his ultimate move does take the enemy up into the air, the payoff is just the monster randomly falling flat to the ground afterward. It feels totally disconnected from his actual fighting style and personality. Honestly... meh.

It would be so much cooler if they changed it to reflect his weapon. Imagine a flurry of 30 super lightning-fast slashes or an anime-style speed-blitz combo instead.

I picture an epic Iaido quick-draw strike: Lasswell sheathes his sword, and the moment you hear the "click" of the hilt, the enemy is instantly hit by 30 overlapping cuts surrounded by scattering cherry blossoms.

It would make using his Limit Burst feel way more satisfying, stylish, and immersive. What do you guys think? Would anyone else love to see his animation get a visual rework to match his swordsmanship?

Don’t really have time to play the story so I’m mindlessly grinding cactuars only for the 78 AP, Rain has the Master Ring equipped so it makes sense that he’s ahead, but why is Lasswell so far behind? They all started at the exact same exp and have been battling together the whole time.

I've been playing Resonance and am really liking it so far. IDK if this has already been asked about or if I'm just going crazy, but are the continent shapes on the world map references to iconic FF symbols?

Dirnado (top-middle) is absolutely shaped like FF8's Griever, no? And the islands of Grandshelt each individually remind me of an iconic crystal design from FFs past (with the northeastern-most looking like FFXII's Great Crystal? Is it a stretch to say Pharm looks like the Revenant Wings logo?

Are they references? If so, there's about half I can't place—can ya'll? Am I just seeing things? Has this already been completely discussed and demystified and I'm just slow? LMK!

Looking to see other people's thoughts on what they feel is the best party composition and what visions are essential to equip to those characters.

I played the demo all the way through to completion of chapter 1. I fired up the main game today as I preordered after the demo. Before getting on the boat I wanted to run around to see if I had missed anything. Turns out I had missed a cave with an Esper (I know who it is but being deliberately vague so as not to spoil). For those who know its the Maruder cave. I beat the Esper inside but I don't seem to have them as a summon only the one you get just before. Have I encountered a bug or broken my 5 hour + run on the game as a lot of what I'm reading online says that this Esper shouldn't be able to be fought until Chapter 4.

Before I buy it, I just want to make sure: does this game actually have a full beginning and a proper ending?

Found a consistent method to grind XP on early game. Shortly after progressing through the Dwarven Forge there is a cactuar you can randomly run into just south of the Wind Shrine that gives 2500XP each encounter. Seems the Cactuar has high evasion so multi hits is the way to go. Have been grinding here for a little bit from 17 to 22 rather quickly. Much faster XP than the small amounts from regular mobs. Great for the Expert playthrough!

My bed time is 10:30 or so central time and the countdown ends at 11 pm. I'm staying up about an hour or so to midnight to get some time I nthe game. Then be chiseling away at it over the coming weeks! Can't wait for later tonight!

I've beaten six FF games, but would like to do ALL of them at some point.

I know the intro/questions for each vision can be a bit spoiler-y, am I safe to just mute and click through them?

Is that the only part of the game that will spoil other games? I haven't looked at the vision list, are any of the boss visions spoilers themselves for the games they represent?

PSA for those considering Walmart for future preorders. Despite paying for Walmart+, I'm 0/2 for on-time preorders (most recent was Minecraft Dungeons 2). Resonance is in Missouri, while I'm in California. Boo, Walmart. I guess I will have to spend time with my FAMILY instead ;-)

I chose not to pay lid during Mt. Thunderclap and now having completed the area the option to find the shortcut and access the other areas isn‘t popping up. how do I trigger it again?

I just turned 56 last month. I've been playing both Final Fantasy and Dragon WARRIOR games since both #1s came out in 1989 & 90 respectively.

I obtained Resonance demo on Day 1, beat Sylph, but did not get on the boat yet. I'm way past maxed my characters at 15, probably could easily be 22-23 by now. I rotated my Visions to max level 5 on all characters as well.

I don't want to get on the boat then immediately be locked out for coming right back to this continent. I want to ensure that I can grind more here. I didn't even know about the Cactaurs here at all.

I didn't see any purchase bonuses advertised this time like in Octopath Traveler zero and Elliot.

My game will be waiting for me in 3 hours when I get home from work. Tomorrow is a vacation day for me as well.

I'm assuming my dave carries over with finishing and proceeding to the docks, etc?

No one answered my last post. I alternated all Visions to Max level 5 on all characters, obtained Sylph, etc. BUT, I don't want to be stuck on the next continent if I can't hop right back on the boat again to go back, but not 1 person tested and answered this for me.

I personally don't think it matters, if I finish demo before or after boarding, the rewards should be the same, it just blows my mind no one will simply test going backwards immediately before I load my save into the actual game!!

Definitely having a blast. But im for sure blowing through pheonix downs like crazy in every boss fight.

Some pro tips that's helping me if anyone else is also struggling

• Get deathblow on everyone. It doesnt miss during stagger. So during your damage windows you get guaranteed crits which really help wear enemies down (and restore MP if you have that ability)

• You can use Terras double damage ability on Finas limit burst. It should be in the bottom. When she gets limit bursts she can chunk for a good 4-6k

• Utilize rain to protect all to save yourself from a wipe. If a big hit is coming just accept the fact that you lost rain. He'll take ×4 damage and die but the rest of your team is at least alive to revive him

Hope you guys are having a good time! Let me know if you guys found some broken combos with visions yet. So far Noctis seems super underwhelming but his 25% evade chance works well on Rain. I also dig the auto bravery. Helps in overworld battles a ton cuz some regular mobs are so tanky
