Mkhitaryan: "As I have already said many times, I don't set limits on my future, but one thing is certain: I still have an incredible desire to smell the grass, go down to the field and live football. I have one year left on my contract with Inter and, as long as they don't tell me to leave, I'll stay here. I want to continue playing as long as I can be useful and have something to offer. I don't think I'll return to Armenia and, with all due respect, I'm not even attracted to destinations like Saudi Arabia. I love football for what it has always conveyed to me, not for the money or to see the figures in the bank account increase".
With only 2 points after 8 games in the league, Estoril is staring down the barrel of relegation to the Portuguese second tier, which would defeat the purpose of having a club in the top-flight as a side step between the u23 and Inter.
Midfield has obvious defensive issues since most of them are technical players. I think Stanko could cover lot of ground as a DM. He was brought back specifically for that. It will also give the other guys some rest.
What else can I say? The more I watch Augusto, the more I love him. He's a complete package. Makes fantastic offensive runs, produces amazing through balls / crosses, defends with his heart out and does everything for the badge.
You play him at LWB.
He delivers.
You play him at LCB.
He delivers.
You just can't not love him. The guy literally covers the entire length of the pitch. He changed the tempo of the game the minute he came on against Bologna. Scored a goal with his first touch and produced a game changing assist.
And yesterday he proved he can deliver performances like that again and again. We just have to keep our faith in him always. Augusto is here to prove a point.
And I'm sorry to Mkhitaryan. I really wasn't familiar with his game haha. He keeps proving no one in our squad can replicate his experience and vision. NO ONE. Period.
He dropped a masterclass of a performance in the Parma game. I remember most of us here groaned seeing him in the first XI. And at the end of the game, we felt like we owed the guy an apology. And then against Bologna, he came from the bench. And changed the tempo of our attack with his vision. Remember his through ball to Augusto that night? It was just marvellous.
And he did that again yesterday. Came of the bench at a crucial time. And literally provided what I think is, one of the smoothest through passes I've ever seen, and that with his weak foot as well. Absolutely game changing assist.
And I'll be honest. Pepo is a classy keeper on his best day. We gave him all that shit after the Club Brugge game. But we gotta remember, our defence looked very fragile that game. The entire fault is not on Pepo. He made crucial saves to keep us in the game against Bologna. And we wouldn't have left San Siro with all 3 points yesterday, if it wasn't for Pepo's save in the end. He was amazing.
And please keep starting Bonny. He feels so much more free / flexible than Pio. I just love seeing him on the pitch. He has that amazing hunger in him.
Hopefully we keep this form in the CL. Forza Inter 🖤💙 :)
