Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy my first car around Eugene/Springfield, and my budget is around $2,500 max.
I’m mainly looking for an automatic sedan or truck that’s reliable, cheap to maintain, and good for daily driving. I’m open to older cars as long as they’re mechanically solid.
I’ve been looking at older Hondas, Toyotas, Hyundais/Kias, VW Golfs/Jettas, and similar cars. I’ve found a few listings, but I’m trying to avoid buying something that’ll immediately need thousands of dollars in repairs.
A few questions:
Are there any used car lots around Eugene/Springfield that sell decent cars in this price range?
Are there any local mechanics who do affordable pre-purchase inspections?
Does anyone know of reliable cars or sellers currently worth checking out?
Are there any local dealerships or sellers I should avoid?
I know $2,500 isn’t a huge budget for a car these days, so I’m not expecting anything fancy. I just need something dependable that can get me around without constantly breaking down.

This one gal made these incredibly well crafted beaded flower necklaces and bracelets and earrings in 2022 or 2023. I think she also did woodworking that she sold in her tent as well. I wore one of her bracelets like every day for a few years until one day it got caught on something and broke. Beautiful bike and would definitely put the work into it but it’s just too small for me and looking to size up.
New front brake pads. The back brakes are currently not working. The chain slips or falls off when shifting up and down. It likely needs a derailleur adjustment or new chain/cable. Valve stem is missing or damaged.
Definitely open to trades for a size L-XL road bike, single speed, or a fixed gear. OBO

The bike runs great! Has 24k original miles. Bought a lot that came with another 87 with a 94 engine and ready to be built for the track(lithium battery conversation, vance and Hine pipe, upgraded carbs with KnN filters + more). Have a truck load of extra parts. Swing arms, 2 sets of wheels and tires, suspension parts, gears, brake parts, radiator/fan, multiple seats, aftermarket parts and all kinds of odd parts. Comes with original manual.

Both bikes have clean title in hand and original keys. Would rather sell together but will sell separately.

Complete bike $4500; $7500 for both with all the extra parts.

Very, very light use. Original owner, and may have used for a maximum of 20 hours since original purchase. Approximately $2400 worth of tool, yours for $2000, within reasonable obo.

I have used this drum sander EXCLUSIVELY to surface veneers that are 1.5-3mm thick to glue ready before pressing them onto panels. It has never seen a piece of timber wider than 6”; it’s motor has never been bogged down, it’s intellisand sensor switch has never needed to activate, and I have only used it to do very delicate work, removing 0.25mm from bandsawn veneers.

I am happy to deliver for a very small fee, just the gas to get there, or you’re welcome to come and pick up from my shop.
