Rivalries
I saw an instagram post by the ECHL about some rivalry uniforms (I believe it was Florida/Orlando and Bloomington/Indy??), so I was curious about rivalries in the ECHL. I’m sure they exist, but as a newer fan to the league I’m curious what rivalries exist and what some of the bigger rivalries in the league are as well as if there’s a chance for some new ones as New Mexico and Trenton join the league. It seemed like things between NM and Idaho was a little chippy when I was at those games, so maybe that has potential as I know they are affiliated with the Avs/Stars

ECHL Fandom
Hey ECHL fans, I mean this post with all sincerity. I'm a huge NY Rangers, NHL, and hockey fan. I moved from NYC to Orlando five years ago, missed having access to pro puck, and started going to Solar Bears games. I was aware of the "Coast" but never paid much attention to it until now.
Among most team supporters, is there a "real" level of fandom, like how pro team fans obsess over their teams: watching most games, following trade and signing rumors, and thinking about the team as part of their normal day? Or is game day just "something to do"? I realize that if you're on an ECHL subreddit, the former is probably true for you, but what about your community?
I don't mean this as an ignorant question. It's my first time living in an ECHL market, and I don't think the market I live in is very traditional for an ECHL team.

Questions The Railers gave us free car washes on opening day, what did the other teams give out?
I’m just curious because the car washes coupon came out of left field as a Railers fan. We usually got light up sticks for our home openers

Questions Reasonable expectation for Goatheads season?
Brand new fan to the ECHL this season because of the Goatheads. I know nothing about the players on the team or the history of the league. I’m doing my best to quickly learn.
Everyone that’s gone to the games is really proud of the team, but I think there is some slight disappointment just because they didn’t pull a win on opening weekend.
What’s reasonable for fans to expect from this new expansion team?

Questions Goatheads player Kempf
Just a quick question, does anyone have any word on the status of #29 Hank Kempf? He got a skate to the face/neck and was rushed to the hospital for surgery. I’m just throwing this out there to see if anyone might have something.
Some other fans and us were talking after the game and they indicated that he may have suffered an orbital injury along with face lacerations, but that is all I’ve heard.
Finally the season is here.
It has been an exciting week preparing for tonight's first home game for the Orlando Solar Bears. For me, it's worse than waiting for Christmas morning as a child. I'm so glad it's finally here.

Questions Highlights
Where is the best way to watch ECHL highlights? I'm unable to catch games live, so would love to be able to catchup somehow.

Easy way to track players on AHL/NHL deals?
I know elite prospects shows relatively easy players on NHL deals but not AHL deals.
Any websites that track it easily. I can keep track of "our" team but players on others is a pain in the butt

I built a free site that lists every minor league, indy and college game near any zip code, pulled from the schedules and re-checked nightly.
Had this idea post-pandemic, but decided to actually try to build something. I found the sites like ESPN and other event sites to not quite do what I wanted in finding live sports to watch. I wanted something like Bandsintown for sports - just give me a location and tell me what's nearby.
What's on it for hockey
- Minor pro: every AHL (32) and ECHL (30) club, plus the SPHL and FPHL
- Junior: NAHL, USHL, and the WHL and OHL (yes, including the Canadian teams)
- College: D1 men's and women's hockey, plus about 600 ACHA club programs (men's D1-D3, women's D1-D2) - the club games are often the closest rink to you that you didn't know was hosting anything
- NHL (I know...), and the PWHL is listed with games filling in as the schedule posts
It's not just hockey, either: the same site covers baseball (MLB through Single-A, indy ball, summer collegiate), soccer (MLS through USL and the NWSL), basketball, football, volleyball, lacrosse and more, with about 1,900 colleges across every division - around 80,000 upcoming games in all.
No accounts and no ads - just a hobby site
Schedules come straight from the leagues' and teams' own published schedules and are re-checked every night, so postponements and time changes show up the next morning.
You know your own team's schedule, but where I'm hoping it helps is the "what else is within 25 miles that I didn't know about" question. Maybe a junior or college game on a night your team is on the road, or you're travelling and just want to see what's around.
Every list is also a plain-text or JSON feed: floodlit.us/api/feed?zip=17101&days=7&format=text (any zip, up to 30 days, radius up to 100 miles). Any list can be subscribed to as a calendar (.ics) so it lands in your phone's calendar app.
If your team or rink is missing or wrong, tell me in the comments. The junior and ACHA schedules in particular come from a mix of sources and I've been fixing as I find issues, but I'm sure some are still there. (Mostly just United States for now, though the WHL and OHL are carried whole, so a fair bit of Canada is in there.)
Probably rough around the edges but trying to get some feedback on whether this is useful at all or not.
