Hi! So I'm trying to play GameCube and Wii games feeling I actually have the console. Though I can not have the thing stop glitching, I want the best performance that makes me feel I actually have the consoles (If you get what I mean). So I really need some help.

I recently just jailbroke my PS4 and got some of my roms onto Dolphin but I'm having issues with it reading the roms. Like I have Paper Mario TYD and it's hack Book of Mario Thousands of door. The emulator says there's two disks and going into the Root folder of my PS4 and the original game and the hack are two separate ISOs and the titles are different.

The same also goes for Pokemon XD but in the other way. For some reason it reads it as 2 disks, 2 separate ISOs in the root folder. But it's playing the XG Next Gen Hack instead of the main game. Is there anything I'm missing in settings?

I looked around for fixes and updated to the newst version of dolphin but nothing seems to work.

Edit: I figured it out. All I had to do was enable "Immediately Present XFB" in the settings. Leaving this here in case anyone should have the same issue

Im about to try Dolphin. I never had a Wii in my life. Which Mario games (especially Mario Party's) are fine with just an Xbox controller and dont require any motion sense?

Its my first time using an emulator I was trying to play Mario but the game looks like this What could i do to fix this?

I've heard that Dolphin's performance on these android based emulated systems isn't that great but I feel like it's gotten even worse recently. Without even touching my settings games that used to run like a dream when I first got it now stutter and occasionally crash, namely things like Soul Calibur 2, NBA Street Volume 2, and Bloody Roar Primal Fury. GameCube used to be the best bet performance wise but now PS2 games are the ones that work smoothly for me.

Anybody have any tips on what settings I can tweak or if there's a specific older version of the emulator I should install instead?

People keep telling me that Wii games run on Dolphin so well it feels like a native port, but every time I launch a game on Dolphin (the recent example being Silent Hill Shattered Memories), I run into all sorts of slowdowns, graphical glitches, permanent input lag, even while using the safest and most recommended settings possible. Yes, there is relatively stable fps and graphics are mostly accurate, but it doesn’t make these huge issues disappear.

Also, settings are overly complicated for a mouse and keyboard user. You can’t map two keyboard buttons to same function without manually typing comma between some variables (why do I have to “code” to set up controls?) ; there is no obvious way to map Wii-mote rotation to “holding a keyboard button while moving a mouse”.

I understand that enthusiasts are doing this for free, but is there something wrong with my computer or my brain, or do people just deal with the same issues and still consider emulation to be equivalent to the native version in their discussions?

This post is not intended to be disrespectful. I acknowledge the fact that devs are doing it for free and do not owe me anything, but I just don’t get why something so unpolished would be recommended so much to regular users who just want to play an old game, without the necessary disclaimers and warnings about having to waste a lot of time dealing with these issues, which persist throughout the years.

EDIT: This Issue was solved by u/TheEvilStapler, Apparently if you live somewhere that changed their timezone (often by removing Daylight savings) on Windows, then Dolphin gets bugged. I just changed my timezone to an older one and it worked. So all the Albertans, Manitobans, and apparently Northwest Territorians who may be facing this issue right now, there you go.

I don't know where else to go at this point, so here is the issue.

As the title says, I can't open any game in dolphin, it seems like whenever I try, it can't even load the first frame of the game, Wii or GameCube (rvz, iso, ciso, none worked, and all shut dolphin down in the same way). Not only does this close the game, but also the Dolphin window that I opened it with. And unfortunately there is no error message that comes with it, it just shuts down.
I have tried basically everything to fix it (that I know of).

I have...

1. Restarted my computer.
2. Removed everything in my user folder
3. Updated Dolphin (which did need updating, but did not solve the issue)
4. Download the correct VC_redist.x64 and then restarted my computer. (allowed me to update dolphin, but still did not fix the issue)
5. Disabled Dual Core
6. Tried every backend graphics option (Direct 3D 11, Direct 3D 12, Vulkan, Open GL, etc.)
7. Internal resolution set to native
8. Deleted Dolphin off my computer, and reinstalled it
9. Set the Audio Backend to no audio output to see if it was an audio error (it wasn't)
10. Triple checked my driver (it is up to date, and has run dolphin in the past)
11. Unplugged my controllers just in case

An probably a few other things.

I am running this on Windows 11, and this is my graphics card: AMD Radeon(TM) 860M Graphics

This error happened both on Dolphin 2606, as well as the updated one 2609a.

No other thing on my computer has not worked, this Dolphin issue is the only thing that it can't do right now, let me know if anyone has any ideas of the source of this problem. I will give any further information if needed.

Hey all. Quick technical question.

Back in 2023, I quit a playthrough of Metroid Prime 2 on Dolphin after the emulator started lagging to the point of unplayability halfway through the game, and then continued to function awfully when I tested it with other games as well even though they ran fine before. 3 years later, I decide to boot the game up again and see if it still functions like shit, and it worked perfectly fine!... until today; after I got super missiles in Torvus Bog (which is about 4 hours into the game for me), it showed signs of slowdown again (especially when I pull up the map screen).

I am running the emulator on my laptop, which has an Intel core i7 10th gen CPU, a Nvidia GeForce mx250 GPU, 16gb ddr4 RAM, and plenty of storage space on my SSD. I have updated my drivers over the years, "upgraded" to Windows 11, and installed updates to Dolphin.

To speed up performance, I have disabled vsync in dolphin and am using Direct3D 11 as my backend, using my GPU as my adapter. I'm using hybrid ubershaders as it has increased performance since I started playing again this past week.

I'm going to try out other rendering options (Direct3D 12, Vulkan) in a sec, but I'm wondering if anyone on here can give advice? Is this a memory issue? Is my laptop just shit and I need to git gud or something? I would really appreciate any words of wisdom.

hello im using a 3rd party wii remote and it connects no problem but as soon as I load up a game (super mario galaxy) it says at the top left "controller 1 disconnected" or something of that type is there a fix?

Alright so I am trying to emulate super papwr mario on dolphin, and everything is fine except my wii remote won't connect to my computer. It is a real wii remote, and dolphin will say it is connected, but the wii remote acts as if it is still unpaired. I was wondering if anyone else knows what the issue is, or if there is another type of controller I could use?

For extra context my computer is nobara linux and I also have a ps3 controller (which I'm sure wouldn't work but I figured I'd mention it) and some joycons laying around. Thanks in advance.

i've tried everything to try and fix this: going back to a previous build, redownloading dolphin entirely, resetting my graphics settings and fiddling around with different backends, doing the c++ repair thing, this never happened until i updated windows 11 yesterday but after the update nothing seems to be working at all anymore

please help me out with this i just want to go back to playing metroid prime and the sky crawlers in peace
