I Have A Question Ceramic Coating based on physical appearance after cure.

Im curious has anyone ever done a review of ceramic coatings based on physical appearance after it cures. I have a black car and was wondering if one brand makes black or dark cars appear darker. Or more like carnauba wax or pearlescant.

I Have A Question Any tips for paint stain and headlight sticker

Hey all just got a new car (Subaru) my last Subaru had bird stains on it and I think that’s exactly what this is. Think a cut and polish might help with the color difference? The etch isn’t too bad.
Also any tips on getting this odd super stick decal off the headlights? Thanks

I Have A Question Is there a way to get wax\polish out of bad clear coat?

I’ve got two spots on my truck where a body shop did a poor job and the clear coat has faded. I was using some swirl removal polish last night and didn’t think about it sticking into the bad spots, now I’m left with this. It’s a lot more pronounced irl. The rest of the truck has solid 10’ paint given its 20 years old so I’m not expecting or asking for a miracle, I’d just like to clean up my mistake.

I Have A Question Quick Winter Protection Plan

TLDR: bought some Cerakote Rapid Ceramic Paint Sealant and I plan on using it just to get through the winter

Just had a baby so I don’t have the time right now to do a proper paint correction and ceramic application but I plan on doing one in the spring.

My plan is to do a strip wash with dawn dish soap and then apply the cerakote after. I don’t have a clay bar and like I said I don’t really have the time to dedicate to the process.

Has anyone ever done this before and am I waiting my time?

I Have A Question Oxidation or clearcoat failure?

Hey guys, I own a '95 Mercedes W124 and it's got some aged clearcoat with swirl marks around everywhere and milky spots like these on the photo. I wanna detail it myself, I've already got wax and shampoo, but don't have any polishing equipment yet.

Is this oxidation that I could polish or sand away, or has the clearcoat failed and I should leave it to an expert? I have zero detailing experience and don't have a clean garage to work in, only outdoors.

Long story short my car ended up with same marks on the door panel- will I be able to use compound to get this out or do I need to wet sand it? Or could this be even worse?

I Have A Question Epoxy Stuff from Roof of Metal Building Garage

My 987 Cayman took some drops of an Epoxy sealant of some type that gets more liquid with heat and did so during a heat wave.

Im trying not to be anxious about it and end up installing scratches. Could I get some recommendations for a process to remove myself or is this something a detailer would want to take on?

I Have A Question Noob here: is this something I can ask a detailer to fix?

Hi all! I want to preface this by saying I am NOT a detailer and I don't believe I have the means/tools to fix this so I'm asking for guidance on who to go to for this. My question is whether or not this is something a detailer would be able to work on or if it might require something more intensive, like what might be offered at a body shop?

This is my 2017 Kia Forte5 and we have shared over 100k miles together and I will admit she is looking a little rough. These clear, paint protecting decals came with the car when I got it nearly 10 years ago and have baked in the Florida sun every day since then, as I do not have a garage and I always park in an open parking lot for work. At this point, these stickers are part of the car itself, but I'm hoping to remove them somehow.

I have actually gotten the stickers off of the metal hood with some 3M adhesive remover and plastic scrapers, but it refuses to come off of the plastic parts without chipping the actual paint.

If it doesn't require any super specialized/expensive tools or materials, I'm honestly willing to do it myself, I just don't think it's a job for someone inexperienced based on how stuck-on they are. Honestly though, if it might require a visit to a body shop, the paint could use a touch up in other places (as I'm sure you can kind of see in the photos), so it might just make sense to do it all in one go if it comes down to it.

And I know it might sound silly to want to put so much money/effort into an older, cheaper car, but after being so reliable for 100k miles, I think she deserves some TLC.

Any advice is helpful! TIA!

I Have A Question Circle hologram on black car roof?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Noticed this strange shiny circle on my car’s roof - it’s not noticeable without direct light at a specific angle, car is new and never had polishing or paint correction. Doesn’t wipe off with wet microfiber, kinda wipes off with finger but not sure if its placebo.

Noticed this after washing car, although can’t say for certain it wasn’t there before. Used meguiars ultimate quik detailer as a drying aid before wiping, could it be this?

I’m not sure what this could even be or what could have caused it, would be glad to know your opinions!

I mounted my Pressure washer to my garage wall. Currently my 3/8" quick connect (male end) is to sticking out to the left. Id like to have that output connection facing down. I'm either not searching correctly or it does not exists? Does anyone know of such thing? the thread size is M22 x 14MM I would require a 90 degree elbow.

I Have A Question Glass ceramic coating for winter?

I bought some Griot glass ceramic coating kit and Im debating either putting it now or waiting till spring. Because realistically is there a point to a glass ceramic coating kit in winter? It doesnt rain as much and the car will get dirty anyways without me detailing it. Does it help with ice on the windsdhield at all?

I live in Quebec where our winters can get brutal.

I Have A Question Wash foam/soap that works after it dries?

Sorry, I know I saw it here a bunch of times. There was a soap (BH?) that encouraged letting it dry before rinsing? With the cold weather coming up, I was thinking about spraying my truck at home and then driving to the car wash (5 min), rinsing there, then using the same water to spread a wet coat type product.

I Have A Question Biohazard / Mouse Decon + Ozone

I'm doing a Interior detail next Sunday on a Subaru Forester that had a dead mouse under the driver seat. The carcass itself has already been removed by the owner, but I'm handling the decon portion, deep steam, shampoo extraction, and ozone treatment.

For those of you who regularly tackle rodent biohazards and decomposition smells:

  • Planning on typical dry vac, steam clean, then carpet extraction, followed by ozone treatment.
  • Any hidden Forester-specific spots where rodent dander/nesting material tends to hide that I should double-check?
  • Favorite enzyme or odor-neutralizer products for tough carpet backing smells if Terminator needs extra backup?

This will be my first dead animal clean-up detail. Thanks everyone.

I Need Help! (Time Sensitive) How do I get this out of my seats ! 😡

Thumbnail

Here’s what happened

I had a flat tire, I went to my trunk to get a spare… nope no spare … something called a “tire mobility kit”. Never heard of that so looked it up on YouTube…

I guess there’s sealent to help stop the leak of the tire, enough that you can at least get to a tire shop.

I plug it in the front by the cigarette lighter as instructed and the stupid shit goes splattering everywhere.

For the most part I was able to hurry and grab a towel and wipe most of it up. Nice.

My car is pretty dark inside because of my tints, on top of that I’m in a parking garage… I wasn’t till a few days later I got out into the sun and noticed this crap had seeped into the pores of my damn seat ☹️.

Today I hired detailers to come and take a shot at it… fail ! I keep my car pretty clean, they did do a good job on the rest of it but whatever…. My main concern was the seat and they said they tried everything but could not remove the sealant….

Does anybody have any ideas ???

I thought about maybe getting some leather stain the same color as my seat and maybe try to “paint” the white stuff so that it matches the seat…. Idk what else to do

Please help meh 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I Have A Question Anyone know how to make my windshield spotless?

Post image

I take pretty good care of my 240, but the windshield can be hard to get sometimes due to the coupe style. Especially at the edges of the glass. What’s the best way to make my windshield fully clear? I wipe this down with a microfiber and glass cleaner but it does almost nothing.

I Have A Question PPF ON TOP OF B PILLAR Question

So. New 2026 Mazda-6e. Had the ceramic coating applied by external shop.

Beautiful job. From past experience the B-pillars will eventually scratch, swirl etc.

Is it safe and obviously advisable to put PPF on them as an added protection?

Assuming it will still adhere properly.

I Have A Question Pressure washer orifice question

Thumbnail

This pressure washer has a PSI rating of 1900 and a a GPM of 1.2. Greenworks also claims it comes with size 3 orifice nozzles. According to a pressure washer charts, that would result in about 6-700 PSI. I know other pressure washers with these specs, such as Ryobi, have about a 1.7 size orifice, so how is this possible? What am I missing here?
