Bathroom Tiles - yay or nay?

Hey all, trying to get some opinions on this bathroom. We have a small budget (around 1000 euros) to renovate/change up some things to make it look cohesive and a bit more modern.

We're not sure if we should keep the white sink and remove the tiles (or paint over them), and have a modern look - or keep the tiles and change the color of the fixtures to have a upgraded vintage look. The floor tiles cannot be changed :(

Do you have any ideas? What are your opinions?

Inspiration / update
I took your advice about changing my headlight and added “height” as someone suggested was missing (great tip) !

Curtans was too sheer, and used the old ones for a cannopy put up with dobble sided tape.

Now I’m missing the empty Wall beside my desk on the right. What do you guys think I should put there? 🫶🏻 and overall how did I dooo? Think I did pretty well🥳

Trying so hard to figure out a cohesive design and art style of color themes. I was thinking burgundy, but I'm not really sure whether to incorporate that into the bed sheets, rug, or something else. A bed that lifts up with some storage, or a bed that has a high frame with risers. The storage one is a bit ugly, but I was thinking maybe I can add some upholstery over it or that darker leather headboard. Overall, I feel like I'm really struggling to figure out a cohesive art design texture direction for this. I don't really have one style. I like whatever looks cohesive together would work with the floors and the walls without painting.

I'm trying to design my small (~10x10 ft) bedroom and would love some ideas!

Functionality-wise, I need:

  • Sleeping area with a comfortable bed.
  • Dedicated home office for working and video calls. Ideally, I'd like it to feel separate from my sleeping area, possibly with a divider or acoustic panels.
  • Closed storage for clothing, shoes, and personal belongings.
  • Full-length mirror and somewhere to get ready.
  • Ideally, a small seating area near the window.
  • Separate lighting for working versus relaxing.

Design-wise: I want something bright and focused during the day, but cozy and warm at night. I love textured furniture, chocolate-brown leather, burgundy, and slightly retro pieces.

My biggest challenge is figuring out how to make everything look cohesive with my existing orange-toned wood floors and white walls, without overcrowding the room.

I'd especially appreciate suggestions on the overall design direction, color palette, and furniture styles!

Living Room Help my living room!

My husband and I have been living in this house for two ish years now. When we moved in, we chose this wall color and immediately hated it. Didn't have the time or money to mess with fixing it then, but we do now. We are over it lol.

I am TERRIBLE at picking colors, furniture, etc..

We are open to new everything except the floor. This floor was here when we moved in, but it's too nice and still in good shape. We can't pay the money to replace it right now (even though it's not my favorite).

I need help from people who know what they are doing lol! I am attaching a picture of the living room with our overhead lights off and on. Doesn't make much of a difference, but it does change the floor color a tiny bit!

Bathroom Need help with bathroom renovation

I have a terrible 1970s bathroom in my rented apartment. I’m sort of on the fence about the blue tiles, I feel moody bathrooms are sort of having a moment right now, but as it currently stands, those tiles with the current cabinets do look very dated.

The bathroom also isn’t particularly large, it measures just 140cmx240cm, meaning there isn’t much space to put up any storage or shelving on the floor. Going darker or keeping the current tiles might make the room even smaller, and since the window isn’t particularly big, it does swallow daylight.

I have free rein from my landlord to paint the tiles, plaster over the tiles in non-wet areas where tiles aren’t really needed, change the cabinets and sink etc - provided I foot the bill (ofc… 😒). My budget is around 100-500€. I’ll spend as much as is needed to transform the space, but I refuse to unnecessarily upgrade someone’s property.

So I’m not sure whether to keep the tiles and perhaps change to golden fixtures, paint the tiles and add one accent colour (the rest of the apartment has a japandi style theme with lots of natural fibres and oak and olive green, while the kitchen has been through a lighter birch wood makeover, pink backsplash tiles and an apricot wall colour. If we could make the bathroom either echo those, or at least cohesively carry on the overall vibe, that would be nice.

The heating is floor heating, so I was thinking either some wood design linoleum floor on top of the tiles but I’m not sure how compatible that is, or to have stick-on tiles, although I’ve had rather poor experience with those in my kitchen (steam from nearby pots made them shrivel up, grease remover took down the colour…).

I’d be grateful for your ideas, colour scheme suggestions etc.

I just moved in and I’m struggling to figure out what to do with the walls! I want something that ties in with the couch and rug, but I’m not sure what direction to go in. Any suggestions for what I could add or change to make the space feel more put together? Open to ideas! :) (art, shelves, mirrors, other decor)

How would you improve this kitchen, and do some sort of separation between the entrance in the flat (directly at the left) and the living room?

Bedroom What color rug would you add?

Excuse the mess, Ive just moved in but just had surgery (hence the pregnancy pillow) so I cant move anything until a friend comes over and helps move things for me.

Im really not a fan of the colour of the carpet in this room and am looking for a rug - probably one that covers the whole floor of the sleeping area.

However, Ive been told that the colour of rugs Im looking at will make the room look cluttered. Im inclined to these rugs because they are much cheaper than any other rug I can find for the size Im looking for.

Though Im horrendous at interior design so if you have any recommendations on colour, texture, size etc., Im all ears!

Please note the placement of furniture may not be final , open to suggestions on that too. I also usually stick to neutral bedding sets.

I didn’t want to commit to color drenching this room green as it doesn’t get a ton of light. But wanted a pop of color so I paired the lower portion. This room used to be floor to ceiling grey. Trim is the white that came with the house and was used with the Grey. This white trim is all over the house. New colors are evergreen fog and shoji white. I feel like this white trim is not right to keep, but most people say to keep it? Would love any advice on how to optimize this room. 8 ft ceiling! Thank you!!

Bedroom Title: Help me redesign my entire bedroom (bed placement is not fixed but the bed will remain same)

Hi everyone! I’m planning to redesign my entire room soon, and I’d appreciate some ideas and suggestions for the layout.

I’ll be getting a new wooden box/storage unit soon, so I want to plan the room around that as well. I’m open to changing the positions of my furniture, rearranging the layout, and even relocating the electrical switches if needed.

A few things to keep in mind:

- The bed can be moved, but it will remain the same.

- I can move other furniture around to make better use of the available space.

- I can relocate the electrical switches if a different layout would work better.

- I want the room to be practical, organized, and visually appealing.

- I’d also like to make the most of the space for studying and my computer setup.

I’m looking for suggestions on furniture placement, desk positioning, storage, lighting, wall decor, and anything else that could improve the room.

I’ll attach photos of my current room so you can understand the layout and suggest changes. Feel free to suggest a completely different arrangement within these limitations.

What would you change if this were your room?

I will be calling the carpenter at home and will have everything made custom.

Bedroom Writing Traditional warmth meets modern curves | Bedroom design

I wanted to experiment with a traditional-modern design language for this bedroom, using terracotta tones to bring warmth and a subtle connection to traditional Indian aesthetics.

The main highlight is the curved bed-back design, which breaks away from conventional straight-lined headboards and gives the room a softer, more distinctive character. I carried the same design language into the TV panel to create a cohesive look across the space.

I've shared multiple views of the bed-back and TV unit to show how the elements work together.

Living Room Help! How do we fit our couch in here?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

My partner and I toured a condo today and pretty much loved it besides part of the layout (might be making a second post evaluating that lol)

The main probpem is this loving is both sort of small, and weirdly laid out with a useless fireplace. We have a pretry big section that we love and need to bring with us, how can we fit it in here?

The sectional is 116 in x 95 in (last Image)

Watching shows together in our living room is like bonding time for us so its kind of important. We really want to feel comfortable and to stay here for a while.

Any ideas?

Bedroom Struggling with bedroom layout

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, all! I’m in a large ground floor bedroom and I want to move my furniture around so it feels more cozy and functional, but I’m at loss.

For privacy reasons, instead of pics, I am sharing layout blueprints. Here is what it has been:

Pic 1: Door in bottom left corner. Sliding door closets along the left wall. Full size bed with a small shelf of extra blankets & pillows against the far wall (dog’s side of bed- to make her feel more cozy). Chaise Lounge doubles as an extra work lounge chair, but also helps my dog get up into the bed.

Pic 2: I’ve been toying with the idea of moving my bed against the wall, but then that side just feels super furniture heavy.

I’m flexible with furniture types and placement, but I do want to keep my bed and chaise lounge next to each other (on any side), but I’m open to other ideas than the chaise lounge.

I also prefer to lay in bed so I can see the door when someone enters. I’m open to keeping a desk in my room but don’t have to.

My goal in moving furniture around is to make it more cozy and to ideally create a stress-free, relaxing space.

Thank you for any ideas you can provide!

Home Office Space Home office space decor ideas. Rugs, window treatments, lighting?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all!

I am pretty happy with the furniture and general layout of the office in our new house, but we don’t have much for decor. I am wondering if we should put a rug in here and if so what size/shape it should be and how it should be placed in the room. I’m also debating between curtains and blinds. For lighting I’m thinking a narrow floor lamp in the corner by that glass table and some desk lamps would be enough. Any advice appreciated!

Lego Star Wars fan, but I have enough in my room already. Darth Vader is my doorstop.
Maybe a band poster?
Maybe a plant (I can deal with high maintenance if it looks cool enough)
Maybe another bookshelf?
ANY suggestion would be appreciated!

Living Room Couch, rugs, curtains

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Renovating my parents lower level in their split level home, since I moved back a few months ago. Now that paint and flooring are done, I’m taking a break from finishing the trim and am wanted to start ordering a couch, rugs (one main, one runner for the hallway and a circle rug for my easel/yoga mat area) and figuring out what color curtains I should have. I’m really struggling to figure out what I want ! I love jewel tones, natural earth tones and would love to stick with cream, dark brown, green and burnt orange. I’ve thought about a purple couch or curtains, which would be fun. I just don’t know what items should be what color. I find myself to be good at designing around things I already have but buying all new stuff together my brain is swirling with possibilities. I love DnD, the renaissance fair, and all sorts of fantasy. I’d like the room to reflect that and feel natural, cozy, and subtly whimsical I guess. Not like in your face but the vibes are magical 🧙‍♂️
Please give me ideas, I know I want three rugs and I know my curtains will be track mounted to the ceiling. The dog crate had to stay but I’m sanding and staining a piece of wood to sit on top as a side table for the couch that will eventually go next to it.
Thanks in advance :)

Kitchen Please help with this kitchen wall

I have this big, plain white kitchen wall that looks quite bare and washed out, and I’d love to make it feel warmer and cosier. I have four items I’d like to incorporate: a framed botanical print, a wooden spoon holder, a small wall-mounted shelf and a hanging wooden shelf with rope detailing. I have absolutely no eye for interior design and can’t figure out how to arrange them so everything looks cohesive and natural rather than forced. I’m thinking of adding some trailing ivy and changing the lighting to warm white, too. How would you arrange these items, and would you use all four or leave something out?

Living Room what kind/size of rug for this space?

Post image
1 Upvotes

moving in and so much of this is transitional furniture and decor but what kind of rug layout would you pick for this space? as you can see there is a bit of a nook that the sofa fits into so i am feeling a bit limited as the window to wall dimension is about 90 inches. current rug is an old one and is about 5’3 by 7 feet. another small issue is that the wall by the armchair opens to the master bedroom. this current rug already extends past where the doorway is. would it look awkward if a rug extended much farther past the doorway?

also overhead lights were only on for the picture!!! i am searching for a floor lamp 🙏🏽

Hello yall I need some assistance on what I can do for my room. My bed is a queen sized with storage for stuff in it. Shelf(2) is a triangle shelf that is in an okay spot but there might be a better spot for it. Shelf(1) is screwed to the wall but can be moved if needed. I also want the desk to be in the same spot along with the shelves above it and the one above the closet. Lemme know if more info is needed. Thank you.

Rough measurements:

(L x W x H)

Shelf(1): 3.5ft x 1ft x 2.5ft

Shelf(2): 18in x 18in x 6.2ft

Dresser: 3ft x 2ft x 5ft

Bed: 7ft x 4ft x 2.5ft

Nightstand: 2.5 ft x 2ft x 2ft

Library: 3ft x 1.5ft x 6.2ft

Drawers: 1ft x 1ft x 2.5ft

Desk: 2.5ft x 4ft x 3.5ft

Room: 10 ft x 10ft (from closet door) x 7.5 ft
