Dover Transphobia at Bayhealth: My experience as an employee
I am an employee at Bayhealth, and I am posting this to bring awareness to the toxic, transphobic environment that is tolerated here. Over my time working for this organization, I have repeatedly witnessed and experienced harassment from other staff members regarding my identity.
It is exhausting to show up to work just trying to do your job and earn a living, only to be subjected to outright disrespect, mocking, and hostility from colleagues. This kind of ongoing environment takes a massive toll on mental health.
What worries me even more than my own situation is the impact on patient safety. If healthcare workers here feel entirely comfortable treating their own transgender colleagues like garbage, it raises serious red flags about how they treat vulnerable LGBTQ+ patients who come to this hospital expecting safe, unbiased, and compassionate care.
Bayhealth needs to step up, hold its employees accountable, and address the culture of bigotry that is currently being permitted behind the scenes.

Rant Royal Radiance Wellness Spa
Open letter to Royal Radiance Spa in Pike Creek, Delaware. You recently hired a young lady from a job where she worked a guaranteed 4 day week, with an offer of a 40 hour week as an esthetician and an offer to pay for her medical assistant certification. The subject of the certification was never discussed again and within a month of her joining your staff, you changed the criteria of her duties with a mandate that she had to bring in 5 new clients a week. An unheard of expectation. This young lady was working in another profession and did not have current clients but you wanted 5 NEW clients a week. People that have been in this industry for years are not able to meet that expectation. Even with friends and family she could not ask anyone come for a service because of your overpriced facials. Because you were ill-prepared to have this business grow or the capital to wait for it to grow. You decided that this young lady would only come to work when needed. If there was a client that needed a service only then would reach out to her. You therefore eliminated her position without officially informing her. You did this to a single mother. You left a single mother with a small child with no income. As most young single mothers, she was already living paycheck to paycheck and you completely took away her paycheck. Also, you recently had positive reviews on YELP, it appears the majority of the reviews are from friends and family of the Dr., not patients.

Announcement Transfer On Death Deed (TOD Deed) info
Not sure if "announcement" is the best flair for this post, but it was my best guess.
Anyway! I just heard about this interesting thing, so I thought I'd mention it for anyone who owns a property:
If you own a home/property and want it to go to someone specific after you die, fill out/file a TOD Deed form and file it with your county's Recorder of Deeds.
The form basically says "When I die, I want this person/people to get my house, no questions asked. Regardless of whether I have a will or not, this TOD Deed document is what we all agree to go by. I can also revoke this any time."
Before this law went into effect, dealing with property transfers if you didn't have a will was a royal pain in the ass, but this law solves it with one form.
This law went into place in DE pretty recently (either 2025 or 2026, I can't remember), but it can saves soooo many headaches.
If you're in NCC, you can read more about it here:
https://www.newcastlede.gov/3026/Transfer-on-Death-Deeds
Enjoy!

News Delaware Department of Elections received letter with white powder today (10/15)
From their FB page:
Today, October 15, 2026 at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Delaware Department of Elections (DOE) received and opened a letter which was discovered to contain a white powdery substance. Staff members followed security and USPS postal instructions on handling suspicious mail. The mail piece was isolated, staff members were decontaminated and evacuated, HVAC system was shut down, and law enforcement, state and federal partners have arrived at the office and are conducting the investigation and testing.
All election offices statewide have sent their non-essential state employees home in an abundance of caution.
Additional information will be provided to the public as the response continues.

Info Request Morning travel from Sussex to Dover
Hey folks. I'm starting a new job up in Dover on Monday. I live like right on the border of Milton and Lewes near the Lewes-Georgetown highway. Anyway, just wondering how AM traffic from here to Dover is. I start at 8AM. I previously worked hybrid and went to the office (in NJ) a couple times a month, so I'm not much of a road warrior.
TIA!!

𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠! Pre-registration required (click the link).
Over 60,000 trees have been planted in the last three decades. This reforestation partnership with Delaware Nature Society has resulted in over 107 acres of former agricultural fields surrounding the original Middle Run forest converted into new, young forest.
Middle Run Natural Area is the largest of the County’s 251 parks and parcels, measuring 890 acres that stretch from Paper Mill Road, to Polly Drummond Hill Road, to Possum Park Road, nearly reaching Kirkwood Highway. Hikers and bikers enjoy the 17 dirt trails that wind through 15 miles of property. Birders appreciate the 227 different types of birds that frequent the area, along with white-tailed deer, rabbits, raccoons, red foxes, and turtles.

Rant Christana Care
Has anyone had trouble trying to reach Christiana Care PCP?
Nobody answers the phone
Their portal is down
You cannot leave a voicemail because the voicemail is FULL
like do they seriously think it’s good medical care to not ever have anyone answering the phones OR clearing odd voicemails?
Healthcare in Delaware SUCKS.
