How should I arrange these paintings? And any other things I could add to my walls above my bed? I want to do a canopy with lace curtains as well, maybe some string lights? :)

Mattress Firm told me this thing had under lights but they weren't cyberpunk enough so I bought some cheap frame off Wayfair and I think it does the job

My doctor said I needed to sleep with my head elevated and my chiropractor says I need to sleep with my feet elevated so I found this thing that's got like a zero g feature which is I think balanced but the guy said it had under lights when he sold it to me so of course I bought the one with lights to go with my cyberpunk vaporwave theme I'm going for in my new house. But as it turns out it's just a regular dinky little white light like a night light that's not edgy . So I was like screw it and I found this bed frame that has some real color changing lights on it and it was sort of the right size. I had to put a couple of let's say modifications on it . Mattress Firm told me I definitely should not do this but I did it anyway

Discussion How do you give someone cozy decor without claiming permanent shelf space for them?

Cozy decor is easy to overgift because each individual item looks harmless on its own. The problem shows up later, when ten thoughtful little objects all need somewhere to live. A miniature room or book nook can feel more intentional than a pile of small decorations, but it also requires a specific amount of display space and may be harder for the recipient to quietly rotate out. That makes a decor gift less about whether the object is attractive and more about whether the person already likes displaying detailed objects. If you don’t know that, something consumable or less permanent may actually be kinder. What tells you that someone genuinely wants another display piece rather than just liking cozy-looking rooms?

When does a book nook make more sense than regular shelf decor?

A book nook and a regular decorative object use shelf space in pretty different ways. A vase, figure, or framed piece can be moved whenever the shelf starts to feel crowded, while a book nook is usually built to sit between books and becomes part of the layout. That sounds great if the goal is to make one section feel like a tiny scene, but it may be less useful if the decor gets rotated every few months. You also have to account for the build itself, since a book nook is a project before it becomes decoration. So the real choice seems less about which one looks better and more about whether the shelf needs a permanent little environment or something that is easy to rearrange. For people who display both, what makes you choose a book nook over a regular decorative object?

Question How long does Simon’s Coffee Shop realistically take to build?

Simon’s Coffee Shop is a good example of why build-time numbers need some context. One current rolife article for the DG109 lists about 24 hours, while another official difficulty guide lists 30 hours for the same 203-piece model. That gap is big enough that “build time” probably depends on how the estimate was made and how much detail work the builder counts. Instead of treating either number like a promise, it seems more useful to hear from people who built the exact model. For DG109 builders, which estimate was closer to your actual pace?

What's one design choice that made a practical room feel less like a utility space?

Some rooms are built around a practical purpose, but that doesn't mean they have to feel unfinished or purely functional.

Lighting, wall color, artwork, and a few well-chosen materials can change the atmosphere without getting in the way of what the room is for.

I'm interested in how people make spaces like workshops, garages, and home gyms feel more intentional without filling them with decorations.

Have you made one small design change that completely improved the look of a practical room? What worked better than you expected?

Plastic or wood for miniature decor when the scene already has a lot going on?

I’m not really chasing the most premium box. I’d rather get something that feels thoughtfully designed, is enjoyable to build, and is reasonably priced without paying extra for things that won’t make much difference once I actually start building.

What SW colors should I paint my bathrooms?

Hi! I am painting my downstairs/guest bathroom and then the bathroom that connects to my new baby's room. I am having a hard time deciding what colors. The red bathroom is the one for downstairs and will be changing the mirror that is from the previous owners. I live by the beach, and so 1 am wanting a coastal feel. It is right off the family room which will be blue and white vibes and across from our office which will have green vibes. My babies nursery is also a coastal theme and I have attached a picture of my baby’s nursery as well.

My mom got this unusual vase for her flowers, but I can't stop thinking it looks like a fish tank lol.

I still think it's a cool piece though, please tell me I'm not the only one.
