I've been seeing weird takes about Violet since the voting began, and while I can't place it, I feel like a lot of people's arguments around her are rooted in misogyny, racism or both. I understand and agree with the critique that her backstory and motivations need more sauce but I think there's some people hiding their prejudices underneath the guise of criticism.

Pretty much the title, i really like the old face, and if they changed it i'd be sad because i voted on her alone since ratking pretty much.

Hate to dive into the Violet culture war, but I think people are really confused about what early 20th century NYC looked like. I'm far from an expert in the time period, but "Bohemian" culture was thriving in 1930s NYC. Greenwich village famously became a safe haven for

1. Gay and Trans people (like Violet)

2. Unemployed artists (like Violet)

3. "Loose Women" (like Violet?)

4. Political radicals (like Violet).

Drugs, partying, and rejection of social expectations abounded. Although I'll admit Violet talks like a modern person (all the characters do), her character is 100% inspired by history- just a history a lot of people aren't familiar with because it was taboo at the time. You can like or dislike her character- that's up to you- but as someone interested in LGBTQ history, I think it's really cool that Valve decided to reference an often-overlooked part of NYC history.

Tbh, I don’t really see a point in changing her face considering it was perfectly fine before. The eye bags made her look different from the rest of the cast and the pale skin made her look anemic (a good thing considering her kit seems to be around leeches). It just feels like they sanded her down/got rid of the traits that made her interesting

This has to be undone you can not give us an intimidating looking lady named nurse HARROW and then yassify her last second and remove her sunken eyes that added so much to her appeal.
