I don't know the actual stats, but seems like he greatly prefers to defer and pass the puck. No doubt he is a great passer and set-up man, but is he too predictable in that way. Also he's a Big Fella; should he be driving to the net more which I think would give the Stars more variety/less predictability in their offense and potentially create more chances for rebounds and greasy goals. Are the legit issues or should we just accept "Miko is great, don't ask him to do anything different" ?

Some stats that stood out:

• Otter with his third shutout of the season, leading the league
• The Stars outshot Chicago 32-19 and outattempted them 56-48 in all situations, but 5v5 shot attempts were even at 37-37
• Stars had 22 slot attempts vs Chicago's 14
• Stars won 37 of 55 faceoffs
• Stars outshot Chicago 12-5 in the 1st
• Chicago went 0 for 4 on the PP. Stars are now 25/28 on the PK
• Robo had seven shots on goal, a season high
• Hyry with the first multi-goal game of his career, 9/14 on faceoffs, and led the team with 4 hits
• Wyatt with six slot attempts, leading the team
• Harley led the team with 24:47 but had no shot attempts and five giveaways
• Ritzy with the worst Corsi (33%), and he still has no points

The stars have the 7th best goal differential in the league right now (+7), even with some ups and downs. If otter sustains even a fraction of what he’s doing right now, some of the big boys heat up on offense, and we get some decent depth support (hello R2)…watch out

This is going to be a bit of a rant but I’m also in need of some help. I don’t live in the metroplex anymore so I can’t just swing by the Hanger or a local rally house. Am I just a moron or is it hard to find just a good old ‘dri-fit’ material tshirt? Black or green with a simple logo. Any help would be appreciated, the material is the important part for me, it’s hot and cotton just isn’t an option.
On to the rant. Why is this team’s (most nhl) apparel just garbage? I’ve been looking for a hat Id like enough to buy for years. Tshirts, hoodies, HaTS everything looks cheap or cheesy or something you would get from a crappy strip mall embroidery/corporate logo shop. I’ve got two jerseys but I’m not exactly gonna wear them to the grocery store on a Wednesday. Rant over. Thanks for any help.

Hello Stars fans, if anyone has the teacher appreciation night hat from 10/13/26 and doesn't want it, i would love to buy it off you! My SIL is a Stars fan and a teacher, and it would be the perfect gift for her. Thanks so much!

TLDR:

The Good: better than expected (no pun intended) expected-goal metrics; positive Points Above Replacement on a minimum salary; shooting percentage nearly 3 points above expected; "grinder" style that we could use some more of; potential one-timer value on the PP.

The Bad: below average speed/burst; literally zero rush offense (0% shot attempts coming from the rush); underlying stats not translating into the actual scoresheet; points per 60 minutes on a downtrend for basically 6 years now.

Why does robo always thank otter and Desmith differently in games won, is it because he is a backup goalie and stepping up? Or is it more that robo already expects a solid goalie performance when otter is in goal? Like for a few years I've noticed him straight faced helmet tap with otter and then smiling and helmet tap with desmith. And I get it if it's also a personality thing, like desmith is more accepting of more engaged thanks, while otter is probably wired differently with how he wants teammates to praise him. Idk, maybe goalies are just more different than I already thought including in how they want to receive praise from teammates.

Going to my first NHL game to see my favorite team!! Six of us are driving up from Houston and looking for a hotel nearby. Price range is $200 per night. We'll be there in January, so uber or public transport may be better than walking. Will need a hotel close to DART, or close enough to the arena that Uber won't break the bank. Thanks in advance for any / all suggestions.

TLDR: Bish definitely struggles in some areas, but beats the baseline overall; Myers is actually roughly at the baseline in his time with Dallas. Playing together, they post significantly better numbers than they each do individually.
