Guys, I honestly don't remember anything that happened this week besides Roope fighting. Please enjoy this walk down memory lane with me.

TLDR:
The Good: better than expected (no pun intended) expected-goal metrics; positive Points Above Replacement on a minimum salary; shooting percentage nearly 3 points above expected; "grinder" style that we could use some more of; potential one-timer value on the PP.
The Bad: below average speed/burst; literally zero rush offense (0% shot attempts coming from the rush); underlying stats not translating into the actual scoresheet; points per 60 minutes on a downtrend for basically 6 years now.
Full breakdown here.

Hello Stars fans, if anyone has the teacher appreciation night hat from 10/13/26 and doesn't want it, i would love to buy it off you! My SIL is a Stars fan and a teacher, and it would be the perfect gift for her. Thanks so much!

TLDR: Bish definitely struggles in some areas, but beats the baseline overall; Myers is actually roughly at the baseline in his time with Dallas. Playing together, they post significantly better numbers than they each do individually.
Full breakdown here.

Going to my first NHL game to see my favorite team!! Six of us are driving up from Houston and looking for a hotel nearby. Price range is $200 per night. We'll be there in January, so uber or public transport may be better than walking. Will need a hotel close to DART, or close enough to the arena that Uber won't break the bank. Thanks in advance for any / all suggestions.

Okay we are FINALLY going to a Dallas game - we’re new Texas STH and got to pick a Dallas game to attend as a perk, so we’ll be there on Halloween for the Blue Jackets game.
This is our first ever time going to AA stadium or anywhere near it (my usual stuff to do in Dallas is the video game museum way up north, and the art festival in April).
Please tell me your recommended easiest/cheapest/best way to get to the stadium and get out. I have never taken DART but I’m totally willing to, it’s just we’ll be total newbs and I don’t want to get stressed. We’re fine with parking somewhere and taking DART, or parking there, or ??? I have heard it’s bonkers amounts of money for parking there, but I can’t even buy parking yet in the app because it’s too soon, so I’m not sure. I really prefer to plan ahead and know what I’m doing so any insight would be so appreciated.
Also we are planning to drive back to Austin that night and not get a hotel, because $$$, but if there’s a reasonably priced decent hotel that, like, has free rides to the game or something magical like that, let me know, we’re semi-flexible. Want to have fun but not spend vacation-level money for “free” tickets, you know?
Also not to be weirdo hippies but if anyone has a favorite meat-free/vegetarian (doesn’t have to be vegan) food at the stadium that’s good let me know! If you’re ever at HEB center in Cedar Park the “Big Dipper” at the diner is basically the world’s fanciest grilled cheese sandwich with tomato bisque dip and it’s AMAZING - four kinds of cheese plus pears, and grilled. chef’s kiss
Thank you!

Was thinking of doing an away game trip in December for either the EDM-WPG set or the MTL-OTT set. Anyone visited these cities and have any suggestions? Not enthused by being late December. Coldest I’ve done is maybe Finland in November, and it was that cold yet.
Is there enough to explore during the day that time of year without massive hassle?

Why does robo always thank otter and Desmith differently in games won, is it because he is a backup goalie and stepping up? Or is it more that robo already expects a solid goalie performance when otter is in goal? Like for a few years I've noticed him straight faced helmet tap with otter and then smiling and helmet tap with desmith. And I get it if it's also a personality thing, like desmith is more accepting of more engaged thanks, while otter is probably wired differently with how he wants teammates to praise him. Idk, maybe goalies are just more different than I already thought including in how they want to receive praise from teammates.

Positives: Grinded out a win, we did a very good job boxing out this game
Negatives: Probably need to be burying a few more, some bad turnovers at the blueline.
