increased magery for mainly melee
if i'm not going to be casting destruction around at all times, but will probably use all of the other schools, how important is it to choose magery x3? could a x2 do?

Hello,
With all the boom with Daggerfall online, I decided to play the original, and I noticed that many quests have time limits.
My question is: is there a time limit for the main quest (going to Daggerfall to investigate the ghost)? Or can I take as much time as I want to complete it?

For instance if I had an enchanted item that had Resist Shock on equip, would it use the base Resist Shock spell parameters of "30 + 5/per level" to determine success?

Hello there, i'm a new player, i got Daggerfall unity and 1 mod "Dream" for now and i'm seeking some advice in general for build and directions.
I want to make generalist character that decent at magic and regular combat.
So i created a redguard "long blade" specialist for a start and went to a mage guild as my first action(because i want to create some basic spells and spell creation requre joining a guild).
They gave me a quest(i guess its randomly generated) to get a lich dust from a dungeon but when i got there the first enemy i encountered was immune to my weapons.
I have steel and elven grade weapons, it was some harpy or something.
So if some veterans can give me practical advice to what should i do at the start with a goal to be a well rounded fighter that can do most things "okay" that would be great.
Also i'm curious how "XP adjustment" works, do enemy adapt to your level?
I don't care if its takes too long to level as long as enemy just follow your progress for example.
I also noticed that you can break "locked" doors with a weapon, so is lockpicking just useless or i'm missing something?
Thanks in advance.

I've heard that the swap hands key (default H) would swap you between your 2H weapon and hand to hand, but it does not work for me, at least not on DFO. Neither does putting my weapon into the hotkey binder and pressing it again (i get a message that it's already equipped). Am I using the wrong key? Or is it currently bugged?

can you get miscellaneous to 100? is there any drawback on putting them in miscellaneous besides starting at lower level like running doing less effect? wouln't that mean skills you use all the time like running or jumping are better to put in miscellaneous if you want to max out everything?

I tried sitting down at one of the red felt tables to play poker with a stranger and won their buy in, but when I stood up, all of the money was gone that I won and bought in with. Is there something im missing or is it really glitched?

The Muscle mage. I'm athletic forcefully, my metabolism is too fast, im too fit to get sick, too fit to get paralyzed, rush fits too well, redguards are the muscle guys by default, it would be a waste not to use the bonus, but it doesn't work with hand to hand. I'm leaning towards taking off regenerate or rapid healing, but I don't know which one is better
And hand to hand also fits well

Anyone else simply love the terrain addition to Daggerfall Unity? It makes walking the distance on foot so much more fun, especially in hilly areas, where you could see towns, homes and seas in the distance!

I accidentally close the graphic setting that you can see at the very beginning of the game.
And I close (this ones by knowing) the starting menu of the game.
Now my GPU is working like crazy, 2000+ FPS, how am I gonna fix it?
Where can I open graphics menu? Because I cant find it any other way. I JUST start to play this game.

I want to start playing Daggerfall, but my English is limited (I'm writing this with a keyboard translator). So, I'd like to know what mods you recommend to play Daggerfall in Spanish.

I got interested in daggerfall. Google says I have to download the files and run them in an emulator or something idk. I don't understand that part. How can I play the original thing?

I've been playing Daggerfall since 1996. While I switched to Daggerfall Unity in 2021, I still like to mess around with my original disc version from time to time.
An early memory I have is being terrified after receiving a letter from a werewolf hunter claiming he was going to hunt me down unless I got cured. At 9, seeing that in a game, made me seriously believe I was in danger. (I never cured it and wrecked the poor guy)
Another more recent memory is making my daughter try it at the same age I was when I first played.
She went inside a house, stole a pair of pants right in front of the owner and got arrested. She pleaded not guilty by lying and got away with it. She even got to keep the pants. We got a good laugh out of that. I like to imagine how it went in court for her to be found innocent of such a crime.
So what's yours?
