CRITIQUE Clayface might be the best solo villain movie ever.

It’s brutal, terrifying & just so good. The story/plot keeps you hooked. The pacing & plot is similar to “The Crow” if you know what I mean. This movie was shot well with some great cinematography. The acting is great. The body horror was great. Clayface is more of a “Villain” here than Venom & Joker ever were.

Clayface was way more terrifying than I thought, more than any superhero villain I’ve seen on screen. There is so much creative potential with this character & I’m really curious to see where this character goes.

Bravo, DC. It’s a damn good movie.

DISCUSSION Go Watch Clayface

Genuinely enjoyed the movie. Went with a group of friends and they all loved it. I'd even go as far as to say it was better than the Joker.

This is exactly what a comic book villain movie should be like. Grounded but also fictional. I don't know what those early reviews were about saying something like it's as good as the bad Sony villain movies. Clayface was better than any of those by miles. This is the first time I've seen Tom Rhys in anything and he did a phenomenal job, as did the rest of the cast. The CGI was also top-notch compared to bigger budget movies like Superman, Supergirl and Fantastic 4.

I really hope this movie succeeds financially and people give it a shot while it's out in theaters. Can't wait to see how this ties into whoever and whatever the next Batman will be.

OTHER Can i handle clayface?

so i wanna watch clayface but like, i SUCK with horror, so how scary/gory is it and could i handle it?

only real horror movie ive seen was alien and morbius(not horror but id atleast say there are horror elements) those two i handled fine, but clayface is a body horror, and even the trailers made me uncomfortable so what would you say?

DISCUSSION Clayface moves past Superman as the best DCU film so far (I know, small sample) NO SPOILERS

What an awesome and different movie. It was a huge swing that honestly could’ve completely backfired. I mean, an R rated movie with elements of intense body horror…..not the typical comic book movie fare.

But imo it hit. And I enjoyed it more than all the DCU projects so far besides Penguin. EDIT: JK, Penguin is not DCU my bad!

DISCUSSION Budget of Visionquest vs. Budget of Lanterns

Just looked this up. I'm confused. One of the things I've heard repeatedly was that Lanterns couldn't afford the CG for the budget of the show. I just looked up the budget and it appears to be $130 to $160 Million.

Does anyone know if that's true? Because, if that's the case, I'm way confused how Visionquest can have CG robots fighting one another or approaching a CG house with big name actors for $167 million.

They both have 8 episodes, right? So how is it that Visionquest looks like it cost twice what Lanterns cost?

DISCUSSION Just saw Clayface. Pretty good

The only negatives I have about it is that the movie was very choppy at times. The cuts were very weird. It felt like a YouTube video, kind of amateurish at times, yet felt pretty mateur at times. There's this one scene on top of a hotel for 1second lol.

I really hope dc makes more movies like this, but maybe with slightly higher budgets, 60-90m instead of 44m,

I would love an Amazo Movie.

Gotham felt cool, bit less fantastic than I was hoping for, kinda just seems like a mix of matt reeves Gotham and dceu Gotham, I more so wanted fantastical orange sky type of deal.

But otherwise, enjoyable movie

DISCUSSION Characters I’d want in the DCU

Post image
5 Upvotes

I made a list like this over a week ago. Anyway here’s another

Detective Chimp - let it be known Batman is not the worlds greatest detective, that honor goes to Bobo aka Detective Chimp. Also I want justice league dark

Nightwing - they have already decided Damian is gonna be Robin here so obviously nightwing hs a must.

Atrocitus - not only one of the most iconic green lantern villains he’s also one of the coolest.

Black Canary - in the other post I mentioned Green arrow. Green Arrow without Black Canary is like Superman without Lois Lane.

Catwoman - most important detail, give her goggles and ears. But ok character wise, I don’t like any of her live action adaptions. She’s supposed to be one of the few people who actually knows Batman deeply.

Doomsday - ideally as the final villain. Obviously you know what would happen here, do this villain justice unlike a certain other film did.

Red Hood - just like with nightwing. The fact that damian is robin means Jason Todd as Red Hood is a must.

The Endless - death specifically since she’s my favorite DC character(comic book character in general too), but all of them

The other list I made was: Zatanna, Wally West as the Flash, Power Girl, Renee Montoya as the Question, Azrael, Barbra Gordon as Oracle, Posion Ivy, and Green Arrow.

DISCUSSION Bro, he faced in all the clay.

Clayface is a solid 9/10 movie, I really enjoyed most aspects!!! The special effects were really good if a little choppy at times, the practical affects were superb and overall very good!! We had our first look at Gotham, which is spectacular its incredibly Gothic and id say it reminds me of the Netflix show Gotham, one flaw was that it felt so empty, there should've been more on screen crime but I enjoyed the main antagonist!!! James Gordon should've made an appearance or atleast been mentioned somewhere.

Otherwise thr body horror and other aspects were fantastic and I thoroughly would recommend watching it!!!! Brilliant film

In my opinion, this is the best movie to come out of James Gunn’s DCU so far. As someone who has been disappointed with the direction of this cinematic universe so far, this movie felt like a breath of fresh air.

The runtime of this movie is perfect, it feels like there are no wasted scenes. Every character felt important to the story. And it actually feels like a movie that anyone can go see, DC fan or not.

I could make a very long post detailing every reason why I enjoyed this movie so much. But the best review I can give it is that everyone who considers themselves a comic book fan should go out and see it. Bring your friends who aren’t comic fans too.

I want this movie to be successful so we can get more movies like this.

FANCAST Joker fancast.

So Batman: the brave and the bold has yet to come out but I wanted to suggest a fan cast for the joker. I feel Cameron Monaghan would be a great joker. And he is one of my favourite jokers (even if he didn’t get called joker in the Gotham series) and I feel like he’d be a great choice for the joker role.

DISCUSSION Hows does the movie compare to the BTAS episode 'Feat Of Clay'

so I am planning on seeing the movie, of course.

But....I am a huge fan of the two parter Batman episode, 'Feat Of Clay'

Ima be short and sweet about this...

Does the movie have the same emotional pull that the episode has?
