Edgerunners Regarding Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2

Attention all Dogtown residents, this is Kurt Hansen,

Attention chooms,

So we’re about 12 days from the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2. Are you as excited about it as I am? I don’t know if I’ll binge the whole thing at once, or watch it in bursts.

So while we’re gearing up for this preem release, we’re going to need to set some guidelines for how we handle ourselves on this subreddit.

Since many of you will be excited to share your thoughts on the series once it’s out, we’re going to establish an Edgerunners megathread for you to comment in. We will place spoiler warnings on the title to warn readers that there are likely to be spoilers. It will be stickied at the top of the subreddit.

However, outside the megathread, spoilers will be absolutely forbidden, be it in the title or the content. Any infraction of this will be subject to a Rule 3 violation, and possibly a ban depending on the severity of the offence.

Come October 20, we will be enforcing this rule strictly for at least a month. You want to tell the world about what you saw? Keep it in the megathread.

That’ll be all.

Update: Internal discussions ongoing as well. The idea of one megathread containing links to episode threads is being discussed.

Announcement Regarding DLSS 5 and 3rd Person Mod Posts

Attention Dogtown residents, this is Kurt Hansen,

Attention chooms,

Two topics are done for now.

DLSS 5
Official support still isn’t in the game. New posts are removed under Rule 4. Existing threads will be locked. We allowed this to be discussed for a week, to give you all a chance to get your thoughts and feelings out of your system.

Third-person mods
Yes, we saw Immersive Third Person. And honestly, it looks better than the old ones. That being said, the screenshot/clip wave is over. No more third-person showcase posts until the mod actually ships a major update. Any existing threads we see will be locked. New posts will be removed under Rule 4.

Neither of these is a ban on the tech or the mod. It’s a feed decision. When CDPR ships DLSS 5, or the third-person mod takes a real step forward, the topic(s) can come back.

Until then: play the game, post the game.

That’ll be all.

I finished the game but I was contemplating getting the dlc. It’s a lot of money for me because I’ve been going through a rough time and I was wondering if it would actually be worth it. Thanks for your opinions! Much love 🩷🩷🩷

Me and a few friends of mine like to do this thing where we each pick a game for another person in the group to play, like a secret santa kinda thing, usually the games are around 20-30 hours, which I've been told the main story of cyberpunk is. The game is incredible so far, it's such a shame I was off put by its launch for so long that I never got around to playing it, so far there's only one issue I've had with the game. I'm having TOO MUCH fun. Though the main story is allegedly 20-30 hours... I've got 40 in it cause I've been enjoying tons of side content and just taking it slow.

I'm level 40 something I think and I've been focusing on blades and knives, I got the two iconic weapons in the prologue and they kinda got me hooked on comboing them, so much so that I've now gotten both of them to be tier 5+. In any game that allows it I always to a melee build, and even then I typically like blunt weapons more, but the knife and katana just flow so well together that even after giving blunt skills a try it just cant compare to dashing though the air and dicing people up. Before I keep going on and on about how much I like the game, I should probably get to the part the title's talking about.

With as little spoiling as possible, if there's a particularly fun, weapon, quest, or playstyle I should get around to I'd love to know, Even after completing all the side quests I had on hand after some of the main story I still see the map is littered with more of them. I'll try my best to get to all of them but even so I wanna hear about the ones that other people had the most fun with.
(I don't have the dlc, so I kinda can't do that stuff, but I've heard it's good too)

And if you'd like to know, I just finished the Tapeworm mission. Please enjoy this photo of my V.

Help I'm going to develop irl Cyberpsychosis

I've been trying for about an hour 20 - 40 minutes now just trying to get the eyes to look to the left... The positions... they keep resetting... they keep reverting... i am so close to running rampant with a crazed expression... what & how.... why????

How does "Look at camera: Customization" actually work? All i want to do is make V look at the left by moving the eyes, but no, each little edit on any part forces the rig to move back to default only then will the eyes be lookng at the left, but if i swap back to the eyes or head just to rotate it a little more, it resets the eyes position back to the right, if i then swap to the eyes, it resets the heads position back to default.

Im gonna lose it...

Discussion ZCT - Zero Chrome Tolerance as a countermeasure against netrunners

I had this idea after thinking about Blackwall Gateway in Cyberpunk 2077.

What if there was a squad of mercenaries specifically trained to hunt netrunners, with one rule: absolutely zero chrome. No neural ports, no cyberware, nothing to hack. Just AK or M1911 level firearms, knives, batons, analog equipment, and jackets/capes/cloaks that mess with camera recognition. I know it's hard to find someone with *actually* zero chrome, but it can be a corpo thing - kids can be selected at an early age to get trained with zero implants.

Think about it. Most combatants in Night City rely on cyberware to be faster, stronger, and deadlier. Netrunners can exploit that dependency. But what happens when their target deliberately gives them nothing to work with?

Even if the Blackwall Gateway can affect the physical world directly, using it seems dangerous enough to the netrunner that the cost might outweigh the benefit of killing a few unaugmented mercs.

ZCT is not some OP thing. They wouldn't be immune to everything. Just force the enemy to fight on much less comfortable terms.

I'm curious whether something like this has ever been explored in Cyberpunk lore. And more importantly, would a squad like this actually make sense in the setting? I would really love to hear what u/therealmaxmike thinks about it. Thanks in advance :)

Discussion How much control does China have over Kang Tao?

As the title says. I am very new to the setting, and Cyberpunk 2077 is my introduction to the setting, so I want a little clarification. Sometimes I hear that the situation is similar to the Neo-Soviets and SovOil, other times China has large amounts of power over Kang Tao after the company was restructured under Colonel Xu, and government backing and whatnot.
