No ninja defusing on my watch

I really wanna get into playing I’m pretty good at cs2 (if I don’t say so my self) and I’ve been wanting to get into the older games I’ve had them in library for ages anyone got any good servers for 1.6?

Hello everyone, i've made a cs animation and would love to get some feedback if possible:)

Rly interesting how he likes that you can't just spray on every distance, you have to switch between tapping/bursting/spraying way more than in CSGO/CS2. Today he also made a stream interviewing some movement pros in 1.6 how to move etc.

A while ago I posted my CS2 bind generator here (old post). A couple of you left suggestions, so here's what changed since then.

Key combos, like Alt + 2. Someone asked if it could do modifier binds ("I press Alt & 2 for my molly"). It does now. CS2 has no real key combinations, so it writes the usual alias pair: holding Alt rebinds 2 to the molotov, letting go puts it back on the pistol. If you set up Alt + 3 and Alt + 4 as well, they all share one pair, so a new combo doesn't quietly break the previous one.

You see the lines before adding them. The builder is three steps now: what it should do, how you set it off, and the exact lines that will go in your autoexec. You read it first, then add it.

r_cleardecals is gone. Someone pointed out it's dead in CS2, so it's out of the reload bind.

Lineups (new). There's now a section for smoke, flash, molly and HE lineups on video, filterable by map and grenade. It's brand new and pretty empty, so if you have a lineup you actually use, record it and send it in (MP4, up to 10 MB, you need to sign in with Steam). Every clip gets checked before it goes up, and it shows under your name.

Other tools on the site:

• Merge: paste two configs and pick which line wins wherever they conflict. Your comments are kept now.
• Practice config: tick what you want (infinite ammo, grenade trajectories, no round end…) and get a cfg for a local server.

Everything is free and you don't need an account to use the tools. Your config is read in your browser and only saved if you choose to. The changelog has every change, including the bugs, and the people who reported them.

If something gives you a wrong line or you want a bind that isn't there, say so in the comments. Half of this update came from the last thread.

After classic CS map cs_fat_mansion recently returning to CS2 also cs_castlebridge from the same author got a CS2 version. So it's time again to have the roof-window-bridge sniper duels from back in the days!

Someone asked him what's with the vibration, and his answer was "Actually, that vibration is my own spraying habit. I gently shake my mouse and move around while spraying to control the recoil." Super impressive. I can't possibly imagine shaking my hand that much and that fast while spraying to control recoil.

He's gone from 15.6k to 26k in the last 2 months, after what appears to be 2 or 3 years away from the game altogether.

Thoughts on this vid?

Hi Guys!
I see the same complaint here all the time: you just want to play 1.6 like it was, and every server is full of mods, shops, VIP menus and ads in chat. I run a few classic 1.6 servers (Classic, Dust2 24/7, DM) and I'm trying to get it right. Not what admins think players want, what you want.

What I have now:

• $800 start, normal 1.6 economy. No $16k every round. Saving and planning ahead is half the game imo
• Freeze time 3 sec (default is 6, but with buy binds do we even need it?)
• Round 2 min, bomb 45 sec, buy time 90 sec, map 25 min
• Autobalance, max 2 players difference, applied next round
• /rtv, /rank, /top15, /me, /rules, /menu and a mute menu

Plugins I'm on the fence about:

• AWP limit: fair or just annoying?
• Friendly fire: old school, or will everyone just shoot each other on spawn?
• Team anti-flash: new players flash the whole team and themselves. But honestly isn't that part of the 1.6 experience too :)
• Kill assist ($150-200): helps when you're broke, but maybe it breaks the same economy a litle bit. Can't decide on this one
• Knife duel for the last two players, only if both agree
• Kill sounds (First Blood, Multi Kill etc), can be turned off
• Speedometer: useful or just clutter? Speed run training, no?

So:

• Pure vanilla, or classic with a few small things on top?
• Which plugin makes you leave a server right away?
• Anything you remember from some old server years ago and still miss?

Now that Steam lets devs organize achievements into distinct categories, Valve finally has a way to restore the original CS:GO achievements without affecting CS2.

Placing all 167 old achievements into an "Archived" category would give players back their progress and profile stats without interfering with new players.

I got a false-positive cooldown in CS2 even though I wasn’t hacking. I was using Crosshair X, which I purchased through Steam. I also got around 3–4 wallbangs, but any decent, experienced player could have hit those shots.

Hey boys and girls!

(Mods let me know if this post is going against any rules, I don't mean to be out of line, I'm just a 1.6 player excited about this project)

I'm hyped for the upcoming rollout of the historic "Fusion 64" project over at TopFrag, which - to oversimplify - will smush two CS1.6 servers together for one 64 player game :D

We are currently looking for more players interested in helping us stress test the server at full capacity.

On paper it should function flawlessly but this will be the first time we test it live in full effect and see how the game engine really handles it.

A server like this has never been achieved in 1.6 as far as I know so let's see if we can't make some history!

The project was created out of the love of the game - for us, by us - and we all can shape the server into something awesome to be enjoyed by everybody.
If it's a success we can roll out more servers like it with different game modes and maps. The possibilities are truly endless - but let's not get ahead of ourselves yet :p

If you think something like this would be cool to see, let's make it a reality!
