With the help of AI because I am not good in writing.
About six months ago, I decided to ditch my Apple Watch and look for a proper sports watch. I wanted something with good fitness tracking, solid battery life, and enough smartwatch features for everyday use.
Back then, I tried both the COROS PACE 4 and the Amazfit Balance 2. I eventually went with the Balance 2, mainly because it offered a few more smartwatch features while still covering pretty much everything I needed for sports.
Fast forward six months. While the Balance 2 has been a decent watch overall, I was never 100% satisfied with it. So when the new COROS PACE 4 Pro was released, I thought I’d give COROS another shot.
I’ve now been wearing the PACE 4 Pro for a few days, and I have to say… I’m a bit disappointed.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice sports watch. But considering the significant price difference, I’m really struggling to see what justifies paying so much more for the COROS.
The Balance 2 seems to offer pretty much everything the COROS does, plus some additional smartwatch features, at a considerably lower price.
A few things I’ve noticed so far:
- Build quality: The COROS is nice and feels light, but honestly, the Balance 2 doesn’t feel significantly heavier on my wrist.
- Smartwatch features: Amazfit clearly has the advantage here.
- Sports tracking: So far, I haven’t found anything that makes the COROS significantly better for my needs.
- Sleep tracking: I’m missing a proper sleep schedule on the COROS. It feels surprisingly basic compared to Amazfit.
- Watch faces: Man, I really can’t stand the COROS watch faces. I know it’s subjective, but I genuinely struggle to find one I like.
- Value for money: This is probably my biggest issue. The more I compare them, the more I realize how much the Balance 2 actually offers for its price.
I really wanted to like the COROS. I was hoping it would feel like a clear upgrade, especially since I wasn’t completely happy with the Amazfit.
But after a few days, I’m starting to wonder whether I should just stick with the Balance 2.
So here’s my question to those who have experience with both brands:
What am I missing? What makes COROS worth the extra money?
