Coros Dura 2 pricing

Man what a bummer this is 2x the price of the first one. I just don't have the time to ride enough to justify this price. So disappointed. Lmk if anyone wants to part with their original.

I guess why the 1 was so exciting was - at least to me - it signalled a rugged utilitarian device that you never had to charge (solar powered, common sense!), and in your delirium of often leaving your bike on long rides at different stops like a pub or deli, you don't always remember to take the computer with you.

Pace 4 pro finally showed up

I give it to Coros on this one. This thing is insanely nice. From build quality to packaging it’s just all around great.

Edit: the camera does this screen no justice. The brightness is so crisp and bright, especially in direct sunlight.

It costs 1/5th of what I paid for the original Dura to have a mount included with the Dura 2.

A far step away from the bang for buck the original Dura offered hobbyist cyclists like myself.

Pace 3 HR sensor stopped working

Reset, firmware updates did not fix the HR sensor. Light blinks once but does not start and get error message to re-ajust on wrist. I cleaned it, tried to adjust but just stopped working.

Any ideas on a fix?

Question ❓ Coros and Progress Tracking

When I spend most of my time trail or mountain running, I can’t really find any graph, window on my watch, or app where I can track my progress—things like improvements in my lactate threshold at a specific heart rate, max heart rate, power, power-to-weight ratio, or VO2 max. There’s essentially nothing; the only real benchmarks are Strava segments 😀 or, at the very least, the fastest ascent rates (meters per hour). Honestly, nothing at all... In this context, "Training Status" plays no role, and neither do those three graphs.

Question ❓ Awake time/Watch placement

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all,

I was wondering which strap/where everyone is wearing their watch when they go to sleep. (Apex 4, 46mm)

I am currently having an issue where some nights my watch thinks ive been up for an hour plus randomly in the middle of the night.

Some people said this can happen when the sensor gets push off the skin or push at an off angle.

I tired tightening the nylon band down, switching to the silicone band and cranking that down and wearing the watch higher on a thicker part of my forearm. But it’s still happen like every other night.

It’s not the end the world but would be cool to have somewhat consistent data to look at of the course of a week or two.

Coros POD 3?

The pod 2 has been out 4 years now. Is it time for a refresh? I’m interested in buying one but it feels like one should be just around the corner. There was 3 years between the pod and pod 2, and it’s now just about 4 years since the pod 2.

PACE 3 🎽 Title: COROS PACE 3 – Battery Drain, Random Shutdowns, Touchscreen and Bluetooth Issues

Hi everyone,
I’m having several issues with my COROS PACE 3 and wanted to know if anyone has experienced something similar.
The watch randomly shuts down by itself.
The battery drops from 100% to 11% overnight while I’m sleeping.
The touchscreen sometimes stops responding and only works again after restarting the watch.
The COROS app shows that the watch is disconnected from Bluetooth, and I have to restart the watch to reconnect it and sync my workout data.
These problems keep happening, and I’m not sure if it’s a software bug or a hardware issue.
Has anyone experienced similar problems? Were you able to fix them, or did you need to contact COROS support for a repair or replacement?
Thanks!

Question ❓ The new COROS Dura 2 Solar is official. I'm currently riding a Wahoo ELEMNT ACE and honestly I'm torn

Hi there, you already saw it… it’s out now, but now… what to do?

What's new:
* 3.5" touchscreen (Dura 1: 2.7"), display now on top, solar panel moved to the bottom
* 99 g, carbon back plate and aluminum frame
* Voice control with mic and speaker
* Offline rerouting, climb detection without a loaded route
* Still 120h battery (70h dual-frequency), solar adds up to 2h per hour of direct sun according to COROS
* The rotary dial is gone

And here's the catch: $499 / 499 € without a mount, $549 / 549 € with one. The Dura 1 launched at $249 / 289 €. That's roughly double in the US and over 70% more in Europe.

My thoughts:
1. The Dura 1 was THE value pick. At $499, COROS is now playing in Garmin and Wahoo territory. Is the software good enough for that?
2. 120h battery sounds amazing, but honestly: who here rides long enough for that to matter day to day? I charge mine every other week anyway.
3. 2:1 solar in Germany in November? I suspect this is mostly a summer feature for ultra riders.
4. Voice control on the bars: real benefit in wind and with gloves, or a gimmick?
5. No more dial, now touch plus haptic buttons: Dura 1 owners, do you miss the dial?

What do you think? Who's switching, who's staying with Garmin/Wahoo, and why? I'd especially love to hear from people who've been riding the Dura 1 for a while.

Heartrate armband monitor won't switch off after workouts?

Am I just unlucky and this is a faulty device or are other people experiencing the same?

When I complete a workout on my watch (pace 4 pro) and remove the hr monitor armband the sensor switches off but the green led indicating the hr monitor is on continues to flicker and I can't switch it off without resetting it using the charging cable. This is pretty annoying and impractical- is this a common fault? Any solutions (other than resetting after every run?)

COROS replaced my dead, out-of-warranty Apex 2 with a brand new Apex 4

Got an Apex 2 back in 2023 as gift for my wife. It worked flawlessly for almost 3 years, then right after a firmware update the battery started draining like crazy. First it lasted few days per charge, then 1 day, and then one fine morning it just died. Wouldn’t even turn on when plugged in.

Restarted it, factory reset, battery calibration,… tried everything, nothing worked. At that point I was already mentally preparing my wallet for a new watch.

I wasn’t expecting much. I just wanted COROS to figure out whether it was a hardware or software issue, since I also have an Apex 2 Pro on the same firmware with no problems. So I opened a ticket in the app. After some back and forth, support offered to take back the old watch and give me a 20% discount on a new one. Honestly, that already surprised me 😆

Then after I shipped the watch back, they told me they’d replace it with a brand new Apex 4 42mm, completely free, even though the old one was long out of warranty.

TL;DR: My out-of-warranty Apex 2 died from a battery drain issue after a firmware update. COROS first offered 20% off a new watch, then ended up replacing it with a free Apex 4. If your watch has weird “General Use” battery drain, open a ticket.

I’ve read other posts about this but I’m a little baffled. Training for a 50k and after a HM Pr on September 25th my running fitness TANKED, while my mileage and pace have remained consistent throughout. I’m trying not to read into it too much, sticking to my training plan and listening to my body, but after six months of training and seeing improvement it was a bit demoralizing.

Question ❓ Coros Pace 4 Pro - Incoming call notification issue

Post image
4 Upvotes

Question to all Coros Pace 4 Pro owners and Coros team: Incoming call notification issue. During an incoming call, the notification and vibration very often pop up on the screen for only about 2 seconds and then completely disappear. Right after that, the main watch face reappears, leaving you completely unaware that someone is calling you. Sometimes the call notification stays on for the entire duration of the call, but that happens rarely. Does this happen to everyone? I can't seem to find any pattern as to why this occurs. This is a basic core function that should just work reliably. I’ve never encountered such an issue on other smartwatches. Even my older Coros Vertix 2 and Apex 2 Pro display incoming call notifications properly for the entire duration of the call. I don't get it—even cheap $70 Cospet Pulse 2 watches handle this correctly. Additionally, I want to mention that 8 seconds for the screen timeout—after which it turns off—is way too short. It would be great if Coros could add an option for a longer screen timeout—at least up to 30 seconds, or ideally a full minute. But first and foremost, the main issue is the incoming call display bug.

Has anyone else run into this?

Coros support: Simple changes to make strength training tracking good

Hi, I have been testing to track my strength training with my Pace 4, and I created structured workouts in the app beforehand. I really like to not have to use my phone all the time and just log it on the phone, but there are some easy things that need to be changed for it to be a good experience:

- During the cooldown between sets it shows me what exercise the next set will be, but not the weight I planned for it (and potentially the reps). For bench press for example, I use the cooldown time to change weights, so they really should be shown together with the countdown. I found this personally very annoying.

- We need an option to disable automatic rep counting. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. Sometimes it counts more reps, and then it will automatically proceed to the cooldown time while you are halfway through your set. Just give an option to disable it please. I could disable "automatic advance", but then I also don't get a countdown timer between sets at all, which I really want to have to not have too long breaks.

These two changes would make the experience really nice, as it it now, it's kind of annoying actually. Is there any chance to implement these? From a technical point, it feels kind of easy.

Some additional things:

- When planning a training, it would be nice to be able to duplicate whole workouts in case you want to create some variation, instead of making a new one from scratch. Also an easy way to duplicate sets in the training (I saw that I can somehow duplicate groups, but not individual sets?)

- A way to create workouts on the PC, either in the Training hub or a separate App would be nice...
