We are working on a really big project. I was brought in really late, a year or so too late, to help engineer a solution that quite frankly I don't have enough time for now but I'll do what I can. Customer is looking for an under desk solution for a Crestron NVX chassis, a Shure audio interface and a couple of other smaller devices. The crestron takes up 2RU and the others can go on a shelf for 1RU. Would be ideal to be able to take off the sides or have a good at to service. I'm playing with a few ideas but it needs to be vertically standing and not bolted under the desk. These are the parameters im working with. I've been working with chatgpt to help. Do you guys have any ideas or ways to help with this idea? I need to do this for 84 desks so it needs to be repeatable

Hi there, I have a NV-21-HU device that's connected to a EPSON projector that shows this blue screen that says "no signal detected" after the MTR PC goes to to sleep for a long time. What I would normally do to wake the MTR PC up, is by going to the touch panel refresh it. But it seems to not work after it goes to sleep for a long time. Any chance I need to check the NV-21-HU device in Designer or add an EDID HDMI emulator at the projector?

We now could now add an axis camera we had in the room to the Teams Room device and use it in a multi-cam setup. Except. It's flakey. In our experience the network camera drops out after about 10 minutes and mutes the local camera as well when it does. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes not so much so. We've tested this in other configurations and it seems it might just be that Windows 11 doesn't handle this type of camera well. What are other people's experiences?

I am never ordering muxlab devices again as last year and yesterday there is now php vulnrability issue and muxlab still has not provided any update or even emergency patch to help users.

i sent an email last year and no reponse and now there is anothe php isuse and muxlab still hasnt provided any update.

i am going to through these in trash.. now security team put these devices on quarentine...

i asked them for an update and its now been 24 hours and still no response from them.

Has anyone run into USB recording issues on an Allen & Heath dLive C1500? I’ve bought five different USB drives without luck, while my older 8 GB drive works fine in the same port.

With the newer drives, the console gets stuck on “Building record folder,” “Formatting,” or “Arming.” Sometimes switching back to the working drive also hangs until I reboot the surface.

The system is a C1500 with a DM0, both running firmware V2.03. I’ve tried FAT32 with 32 KB allocation units and an MBR partition table, formatting through the console, and manually creating the recording folders.

Allen & Heath support said I’ve already tried everything they would suggest and recommended trying other drives. They’re also raising it with their software team.

Has anyone found a fix for this? What specific USB flash drive models larger than 8 GB have you used reliably for recording on a dLive? Exact model numbers and capacities would help before I buy a sixth one.

During a move, I managed to snap off the EPO “fuse” from the back of a Wattbox UPS model WB-OVRC-OLUPS-1500-1, which completely bricks the unit. I should have waited for a second pair of hands when removing it from the rack, but mistakes do happen, and I figured it wasn’t a big deal since it‘s an easily replaceable part. Boy was I wrong. Not only does Wattbox not maintain skus for replacement parts, requiring me to go through their rma process rather than place a quick order, they had no estimate at all of the timeline and I have now been out of service for over two weeks.

First, this is the worst customer support I have experienced from any manufacturer in this industry, where uptime is obviously valuable. Second, the fact that they don’t have a bucket full of these <$1 parts on hand indicates that they are probably another bogus drop-shipper dressed in a manufacturer trench coat. Because the only explanation I can imagine for their level of uncertainty is that they are waiting for their overseas partner to supply the part. Even worse, it points towards them having very little access to the real manufacturer, who should be able to ship me a fuse from anywhere in the world within two weeks. Third, which engineer had the bright idea to have a fragile part that cripples the device poke out of the back of a 50lbs UPS? It’s an extremely poor design that I have not seen from any other manufacturer.

Posting this here because they have zero online presence and no suppliers that host reviews. I wonder why…

I'm here looking for advice and experiences from people who have worked in AV in another country.

I'm currently working as an Audiovisual Project Coordinator at a congress center in France. I manage technical projects and handle the maintenance of video, audio, lighting, and AV network equipment. I also provide technical support to stage managers and ensure the proper functioning of security systems.

I’m Dante Level 2 certified, i have a licence in AV Network (Artnet, MaNet, NDI, Dante & more) and experienced with Luminex, Arista, and Netgear networking equipment. I also have worked as a sound technician and theatre systems installer.

I'd like to try working in this field in another country to gain experience and experience living abroad for the first time.

However, it seems difficult to make it happen as a non-native English speaker, regardless of my English level. The limited number of opportunities in the AV industry at the moment doesn't make it any easier either.

If anyone has experience in a similar position, or has any advice or experiences to share, I'd really appreciate it!

I feel like every variant of wireless streaming device with a proprietary driver suite mostly over promises and under delivers, but I'm curious if anyone has experience with Biamp Modena in an install working well? These were specified by a consultant on a job we installed and it has been about a year with nothing but issues.

Random reboots, where we come in and simply find the devices are off and we have to unplug and reconnect power to get them to turn on, dropping USB audio and camera accessories at random, frequently the Modena device will say everything is fine but then trying to use the camera in a Teams call with the Modena driver fails, Teams will randomly drop the Modena accessories mid call, it has been a constant struggle.

I don't think there is a setting we haven't tried to change, I've tried automatic updates, I've tried no updates, I've tried automatic reboots overnight, no automatic reboots... it has just been an absolute nightmare of a customer service situation for this end user and I'm hating the lack of reliability in what ought to be the simplest rooms in their system.

Is there anything I am missing? Does anyone actually like this hardware? Outside of this product line I've never had a complaint about anything Biamp sells, but this has been a mess.

They already have an amplifier and a wireless mic, I'm looking to provide something with 2 line sources, 1 mic input, and 1 line output, with a remote volume control. I am preparing for my CTS exam first time, I'm particularly worried about the Math section - I have been seeing suggestions regarding memorizing the formulas. But what about the unit of conversions? Will they provide the conversion table in the exam for reference or do you just memorize it along with the formula?

Also, can you please share your experience on what part should I mostly focus on and statistically has higher chances of appearing in the exam. I also took Premium membership for Avixa but the courses and path don't seem to be in Coursera like format to understand the sequence and weightage. Please let me know how did you prepare for your exam, and how was your experience, andy tips and tricks will be appreciated.

For those who install Draper screens all the time, is the 12V trigger a 2.5mm or a 3.5mm jack? I remember that one of the two is smaller, but Draper isn't consistent in which one they show as smaller in the diagram, and they don't call it out anywhere that I can find.

Got a bunch of old DTP HDMI receivers and the boss said keep them if they support 4K. Looking on the Extron website and Google there appears to only have ever been the DTP HDMI 4K 230 Rx - except none of the units I have are marked 4K and even the photos of the item on the Extron site doesn't have 4K marked on it.

I don't have enough kit to hand to be able to test if these support 4K - does anyone know? Has DTP always been able to support 4K?

I use old Qlab 4 for event screens, has been messy when I have to put fadeins and fadeouts for everything, takes a lot of time for just simple crossfades between videos and images. Usually I build the tech and prepare QLab at the same day. Right now doing a gala with 40 video/pic cues. Didn't have time to do the crossfades so I go to black with esc button and then launch the next cue with a cut.

I need a software that just launches videos/pics with a crossfade (and stops the previous cue after CF). Old QLab is too complicated for this. Any ideas?

My parents hand-me-down Smart tv died last week and I have started looking for something that won't sell my data. Ideally the display will be higher than 60hz but I understand that might be hard to find, 65" class, and backlit. Roast me if that's unreasonable for the price but I genuinely don't know where to look and compare. Thanks!

I have just left my company and want to buy my own personal laptop as i have a 2017 mac which is just a pain in the arse to use.

What do you recommend? I am thinking of going for a refurbished Elitebook or Zbook as i dont mind HP and it would need to run fairly light stuff like VS code, Toolbox, construct, 1 million versions of q-sys designer etc etc nothing too heavy.

Anybody know the fix to this? Crestron support has not been helpful. This is a zoom room. Happens with usb-c or hdmi/usb-a.

Any one have luck with the SDVoE systems? A co-worker suggested it, but I have only read some older reviews which were less than stellar. I am used to using NAV at this point on multiple 1G system. The SDVoE seems like it might have some heat issues being on a copper 10G switch and I worry about noise levels on a switch that can route that traffic as it will be in the room for an install. Just looking for general experiences and brands that have been decent if anyone has tried them out. Any information is appreciated.

I have a potential job opportunity in AV (audiovisual) coming up toward the end of the year, and I was advised to start studying through AVIXA. However, it looks like most of their courses cost money.

Are there any free alternatives or other resources you’d recommend for learning the basics and becoming more familiar with the AV industry? I’m interested in getting a head start and learning as much as I can before the opportunity comes around.

I’m hesitant to pay for courses when the job isn’t guaranteed yet, so I’d prefer to explore free resources for now if possible. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

This is my first time controlling an Extron device via SSH. The device uses port 22023, and the connection works fine in PuTTY. However, when I try to connect using the SSH Module Processor v1.8 in SIMPL, it fails to connect.
Has anyone used the SSH module in SIMPL to control an Extron device and successfully got it working? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
