Dracula's Daughter (1936)

It wasn’t terrible but not a new favorite. The score was great but the cast is what really made it a good watch. I think it’s properly rated 2.5/5.

Just wanted to say that my local cinema is having a 'film noir' fest on Saturday 31 October (Halloween) and one of the films is The Beast With Five Fingers. Any love for this neat little horror film?

It's got a super creepy Peter Lorre on fine form as the crazy astrologer who sees his ex-employer's disembodied hand crawl around and generally murder and make mischief. There's one incredible scene where he catches it and throws it into a fire. It's got amazing effects for the day, only now and then can you see the wires or get a sense of an actor poking a hand up through a hole in the table etc.

It's a personal favourite of mine, back in the 70s the BBC used to show a lot of black and white older films, and as an eight year old I watched it alone and it gave me nightmares for ages :)

Hello! I wanted to share our current Kickstarter project, Fantastic Monsters of the Films: The Complete Collection. This premium hardback brings together all seven original issues of the classic monster magazine, featuring vintage horror, classic movie monsters, rare photography, behind-the-scenes stories and fantastic artwork.

Explore the monsters and films that helped shape horror cinema, including The She-Creature and It Conquered the World, alongside legendary creatures such as Dracula and Frankenstein. The book celebrates the original magazine and the work of creators Paul Blaisdell and Bob Burns, bringing this fantastic piece of monster history together in one collection.

We're working hard to reach our funding goal, and if you're a fan of classic horror, vintage monster magazines or practical creature effects, we'd really appreciate your support. Check out the campaign, take a look at our page previews and please consider backing us to help make this book a reality. Thanks for letting me share!
