Is there actually any good halal food on campus or near carleton campus that isn’t overpriced or disgusting? I feel like carleton has some of the worst food options compared to other universities.

The programming language Ada is used extensively in real-time embedded and high-integrity software such as in avionics, air traffic control, space, rail, automotive, in other words, systems that cannot fail. Ada, and it's subset SPARK, which enables the use of formal methods, is a modern language focused on systems engineering.

If developing software for these types of systems interests you, we are organizing a community event in Kanata (exact location to be announced) to learn more about it:

https://www.meetup.com/ottawa-ada-spark-community/events/317058872/

Attendance is free, the pizza will be free too.

Getting started with Ada is easy, all the tools are available in open source, a great place to get started is https://alire.ada.dev

to my friends at comp 2406,

the course timeline says test 3 is from AJAX (chapter 5) only. then the prof emailed us saying its both. now 2 people posted on the discussions and he just replied 2 hours ago saying: Focus on AJAX

im so confused, this sounded to me like a riddle. so is there gonna be ANY node.js or no? r u guys gonna study it or no? shall i focus on both or only one?

i didnt wanna post it on discussion nor reply to him cuz i didnt feel comfortable, so i thought i would find someone here who could help.

hi guys!! I’m in my 3rd year and everyone in my classes are already in friend groups. i spend most of my days feeling lonely and isolated lwk. I’ve made acquaintances but it just never reached to the point of being genuine friends. everyone says join clubs and i tried but the ones im in are basically dead lol. what good (active) clubs are there? On top of that im off campus and have a long commute so making friends + going to club events after late classes is just way harder.

I want to put myself out there this year (since I spent most of my time being shy) so send me a dm if you want to be friends!

was it just me or like 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

why is this course so hard i thought web dev is supposed to be relatively easy, not a form of torture

Hi, I'm applying to Carleton's BID program for fall 2027 and I'm a little worried about whether my portfolio is strong enough. I'd love to see portfolios from people who've been accepted and hear about their experience with the application process and the program itself. I'd also appreciate some insight into my own portfolio, and I'm willing to share mine with anyone interested.

Reply or DM me if interested. Thank you.
