I honestly thought having CarPlay meant I'd never need a phone mount again lol.

But my phone always ends up in the cupholder, which gets annoying when I grab coffee. Tried the center console too, but having to dig it out every time is a pain. And I don't really need wireless charging on every short drive.

I've been looking at the lisen metal car mount, mainly because having a dedicated spot for my phone sounds pretty convenient. Just not sure if adding another mount defeats the whole point of CarPlay.

Where do you guys usually keep your phones? Anyone still using a separate mount?

Some apps seem to have a lot of trouble starting and staying connected. Tune In Radio, Audacy and I Heart Radio can sometimes take minutes to start receiving data and then can go silent for minutes before starting up again. What is going on?

I have a 2023 Hyundai Elantra with Apple CarPlay. It stopped working last week. I can't figure out what the problem is. The dashboard display doesn;t show the carplay image anymore. Looking for suggestions

I’m on Android and my wife uses an iPhone. We share a car. Would the Ottocast Mini Pico work with both phones? How reliable is the connection? Has anyone here used one?

Ok so I’ve had this system for over 2 years now and it’s been great but out of nowhere now I can’t use the CarPlay, even though I’m connected to the bluetooth. I’ve tried forgetting…… resetting….. powering down … on both phone and car stereo… still nothing. Any suggestions??

Has anyone else noticed that Live Activities do not show on CarPlay when using the Driving Focus? I have the Driving Focus enabled automatically to block unwanted calls, texts, and notifications while in the car, but I still want Live Activities to show.

Is this an oversight on Apple's part? I feel like there should be a setting in the Driving Focus to turn them on or off.

When I'm on family road trips, I like to listen to podcasts and music through my AirPods while my iPhone 17 is connected to CarPlay. (Don't worry, I use transparency mode so I can still hear everything around me!)

The issue is that navigation alerts from both Apple Maps and Google Maps always play through the car speakers instead of my AirPods. 

Does anyone know if there's a way to force all audio, including navigation alerts, to play through the AirPods? Since it happens in both apps, I feel like it might be a system-level setting.

I bought a CarPlay which replaced my old radio in my 2011 Corsa, i first turned it on and connected it to my phone, the CarPlay worked instantly and i could see apple maps and it was synced with some of my apps such as Spotify.

Now for some reason I’m unable to sync it the same and I can only play music through bluetooth on my phone instead of spotify. I can see google maps and some other android apps but i’m confused as to why I can’t get it back to how it was when I first set it up.

I have a 2020 Suzuki vitara that had wired CarPlay. I was using it fine with a cable and also a wireless CarPlay adapter and had no issues for first few weeks. Now i can’t get the car to connect to the phone for CarPlay.

The usb wire charges my phone still and the wireless adapter connects to my phone Bluetooth however on the car it says no car play device found.

I’ve tried different cables, different phones and different adapter but it still won’t work. Does anyone have any advice please?
