A few months ago the phone function stopped coming through when connected to my IS300. Today I did “forget this device” on my phone for the car and also disconnected the phone from my car. I did pair the car/phone again hoping to reset it but I’m still having the same issue. The phone rings through the car but when I pick up, the person on the other end can never hear me. Any suggestions?

I have a 2020 Lexus NX300h with wired CarPlay. It’s always worked fine up until a few weeks ago when it suddenly stopped working with my phone. My personal phone is a iphone 16 (ios 27.0.1) with a USB-C port - this no longer works but weirdly does still charge using the cable so must be some connection. Husband also has same issue with phone. I also have an older iphone 14 (work phone) running ios 27.01.1 with a lightning port and this still works with CarPlay.

Settings are exactly the same on both phones and I’ve tried a different USB-C cable but it hasn’t resolved the issue.

Any ideas what the issue could be?! Thank you

I'm from Vietnam, and I've been researching whether it's possible to enable native Wireless Apple CarPlay on Mazda Connect systems that originally support only wired CarPlay.

Recently, I've seen several people in the Vietnamese Mazda community demonstrating what appears to be a software-only upgrade from wired CarPlay to wireless CarPlay, without adding any external USB dongles, adapters, or replacing the CMU hardware.

I'm not sure exactly how they achieved this, but it seems that they may have found a way to enable the built-in Wireless CarPlay functionality through firmware modifications or configuration changes.

My current setup:

• Vehicle: Mazda CX-8
• Replacement CMU: From a Mazda CX-5
• CMU version: MAZ_CMU-150
• Firmware: 74.00.324
• Wired Apple CarPlay: Working
• Wireless Apple CarPlay: Not available
• Wi-Fi: Available in Mazda Connect settings

My CX-8 originally supported factory Wireless CarPlay, but the original CMU failed and was replaced with a CX-5 CMU. Since then, only wired CarPlay has been available.

I understand that Mazda Connect firmware 74.x contains some Wireless CarPlay-related components, including references to sm_WCP.conf and jciCARPLAY. However, I'm not sure whether Wireless CarPlay is controlled by a configuration flag, CMU hardware identification, or another mechanism.

I'd really appreciate any information from the community:

1. Has anyone successfully enabled native Wireless CarPlay on a wired-only Mazda Connect CMU using software modifications?
2. Are there any public GitHub repositories, firmware patches, scripts, or tutorials documenting this process?
3. Does anyone know which configuration, service, or hardware capability check determines whether Mazda Connect enables wired or wireless CarPlay?
4. Is this technically possible on firmware 74.00.324, assuming the CMU has compatible Wi-Fi and Bluetooth hardware?

I'm particularly interested in understanding the technical implementation rather than purchasing a commercial activation service.

Any documentation, reverse-engineering research, or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I had Alarmy installed and I guess when its open in the background, it forces the audio connection every 7 seconds or so. Force closing Alarmy fixes it

For you it might not be alarmy, could be a different app

I honestly thought having CarPlay meant I'd never need a phone mount again lol.

But my phone always ends up in the cupholder, which gets annoying when I grab coffee. Tried the center console too, but having to dig it out every time is a pain. And I don't really need wireless charging on every short drive.

I've been looking at the lisen metal car mount, mainly because having a dedicated spot for my phone sounds pretty convenient. Just not sure if adding another mount defeats the whole point of CarPlay.

Where do you guys usually keep your phones? Anyone still using a separate mount?

Hi all, I've a job where I need to visit numerous addresses and usually use Apple Maps for navigation, and I've been experiencing this odd intermittent bug since updating to iOS 27 where at some point during my day I'll ask Siri to navigate to an address, and it responds as if it's routing to the destination, but nothing happens.

At this point the maps app on carplay works as normal if I manually type in an address, but the app on my phone is frozen and I can't use Siri to input addresses through carplay unless I force close it.

I have an iphone 15, and it's been happening in a whole fleet of different Mercedes Sprinters both wired and wireless. Sometimes I can use Siri to navigate to a dozen different addresses before I encounter the bug, and sometimes it does it after the first one. Does anybody have any idea why this might be happening?

Ok so I’ve had this system for over 2 years now and it’s been great but out of nowhere now I can’t use the CarPlay, even though I’m connected to the bluetooth. I’ve tried forgetting…… resetting….. powering down … on both phone and car stereo… still nothing. Any suggestions??
