Canon EOS r5 (mark 1)
RF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM

Ive been using this lens for sports photography for years, its been great, super sharp even at f2.8 - until last week. Now anything under f5 is unusable. I understand that shooting fully open and fully extended can cause softness, but its it was never this drastic. Any ideas?

First image is f2.8 vs f5.6
Second image is f4.5 vs f5.6

Recommendations Needed Starting over

I got out of the photography phase a few years ago after my first camera, Nikon, left a bad taste in my opinion with some app issues and general hardware deficiencies. I heard nothing bad about Canons and the community all seem to love theirs. I want a mirrorless and got stopped photographing when the EOS R hit the market. Which of the R series and corresponding lens would be a good re-entry into hobby photography that is not a ā€œpoint and shootā€ but something that can take good photos with minimal aperture adjustment? Thanks.

Technique Question Hepl pls with focus points

On my Canon 600D, the autofocus points in the viewfinder have stopped lighting up properly when focusing. They used to illuminate clearly, but now it feels as if the red light itself is no longer properly aligned with the focus points. All the red lights are still working, but the focus points themselves are no longer illuminated clearly.

I have a Canon power shot a 1200 hd and I am facing a problem, which is even though if I click pictures on program mode, even with the exposure set to -2 and ISO to 80 Whenever I’m clicking a picture, the preview is normal and when I am focusing the preview shown is normal. But as soon as I click it, it is giving me over exposed white images when I am recording, it is doing it normal thing, but whenever at any more live mode, Auto mode SCN mode in every mode, it is giving me white images. What can i doo
2st one is what I got in the morning
And 1st one is it now

Recommendations Needed Fujifilm X-T5 vs Canon R8 for documentary and street photography — looking for advice

Hi everyone!
I’m 23 and currently trying to decide between the Fujifilm X-T5 and the Canon R8. I’d love to hear your thoughts, especially from people who have experience with both systems.
I mainly shoot documentary and street photography, exclusively in black and white. I’m not a professional photographer, but I work on personal documentary projects, occasionally contribute to editorial publications, and make prints, usually in A3, A4 or A5 sizes.
I already own a Fujifilm X-T30, along with the XF 23mm f/2. However, I haven’t used the X-T30 much in recent years because I switched almost entirely to the Ricoh GR III, which I absolutely love.
Now I’m looking for something that will make me excited about street photography again.
I’m not trying to replace my Ricoh GR III. I want something different: a camera with interchangeable lenses, a good centrally positioned EVF, and a more hands-on shooting experience. I’d like to explore different focal lengths and spend more time composing through a viewfinder rather than using a screen.
I don’t mind having more physical controls and dials. In fact, I think I’d enjoy that.
What attracts me to the X-T5:
- I absolutely love its design and traditional controls.
- The larger, centrally positioned EVF.
- Dual SD card slots.
- Film simulations, especially since I only shoot in black and white.
- Weather sealing.
- The availability of small, lightweight prime lenses, which are the only type of lenses I use.
- IBIS would also be a welcome addition.
My concerns about the X-T5:
- The 40MP RAW files seem quite large. I edit in Lightroom and I’m a little concerned about file sizes, storage and workflow, although I have a MacBook Pro M2 with 32GB of RAM.
- I’ve read mixed opinions about its autofocus, particularly regarding reliability and low-light performance. I don’t really use subject tracking, but I want fast and accurate autofocus, especially with zone AF.
- The weight is close to my upper limit, although it’s not necessarily a dealbreaker.
What attracts me to the Canon R8:
- The lighter body.
- I’m curious about trying full frame, having only used APS-C digital cameras.
- I’ve heard very good things about Canon’s autofocus, including in low light.
- The 24MP files seem more manageable for my needs.
My concerns about the R8:
- The RF lenses seem significantly larger and more expensive, especially compared to Fujifilm’s compact primes.
- Portability is extremely important to me. A lightweight camera body doesn’t really help if the lenses make the whole setup bulky.
- I prefer relatively small lenses, especially around 24mm, 28mm and 35mm equivalent, though I’d also like to experiment with wider focal lengths.
- The lack of IBIS and dual SD card slots is a downside.

For context, my favorite focal length is 28mm equivalent, which is what I use for most of my documentary projects with the Ricoh. However, I’d love to experiment more with 24mm, 35mm and possibly wider lenses for street photography.
I care much more about the experience of shooting, portability, and image quality than having the highest possible resolution. I don’t shoot video.
My main question is: would the X-T5 be a meaningful upgrade from the X-T30 for someone like me, or would the Canon R8 offer a more interesting experience?
And for X-T5 owners: how do you find the autofocus in real-world street photography, and are the 40MP RAW files actually an issue in everyday editing?
I’m also interested in hearing whether you think the X-T5 is worth the extra weight compared to smaller Fujifilm bodies.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Recommendations Needed Canon Rebel T7

Recently acquired a Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm & 75-300mm
It also has a Canon EFS 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 is II Telephoto Zoom Lens.

I have done research and mostly use it for sports photography (high school) etc.

BUT my photos always seem to grainy. I am using it on sports mode and used ChatGPT to help with my setting.

Now I am thinking I need someone with experience to help. Is it just a poor camera choice or can my setting be the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Batteries draining?

Batteries last maybe an hour. There’s some like corrosion on the battery thingy, I tried to gently wipe off with my shirt and then an alcohol wipe but it’s not coming off. Also one of the latches that close it is broken but even if I push it closed with my finger it still says change the batteries. Can anyone help with this? Also is there like a different battery too? Like a main battery?
