Hi folks. I bought this magnificent 1984 Cadillac.

We made it work in circa 4 weeks. A total of a week's worth of work.

We drove it back from Ste-amable to Lavaltrie.

With only the front brakes and an almost dead batterie.

2017 XT5 luxury headlights

• Upvotes

I picked up a 2017 XT5 yesterday and was shocked to see that for a premium vehicle they skipped out and had halogens. And not very good ones at that.

I want to replace them with decent led from Amazon but I read that they could require a canbus.

Has anyone here bought a set that won’t need a canbus or am I just overthinking.

Will this airbag wire be pinched / ripped?

• Upvotes

1992 cadillac fleetwood

So the previous owner had worked on the steering column so idk how the factory had the airbag wire set up here. But I did a job on the horn, then re aligned the clock spring and it wasnt going back onto the shaft because the airbag wire wasnt giving it enough slack. So I pulled out from the shaft more wire to give it more slack but now im worried if I pulled too much out and the wire will snap/be pinched as im turning the wheel?

CTS V-sport questions

Hi, I'm looking at most likely getting the CTS v sport since the insurance is half the price of a ATS V or Audi s5, Just wanted to ask a few questions. I would like to build it and I know it can make a lot but how's the long term effects does that completely ruin any reliability of the engine? I was planning to eventually build it to 500WHP then stop there. Also how is the handling? I know the ATSV has great handling but for V sport I couldn't find any videos of it being shown off. And there's none at all near me to test drive before I buy it. I'd have to fly to test and buy one.

Mostly that was my own two questions was is it reliable even after upping the power and do they handle well?

Also lastly Im looking at medium mileage options but if I just bought a high mileage with the plan of it dying sooner. Could I just buy a LF4/ ATSV engine to drop in? Is the LF4 decently more reliable due to the rods or doesn't make a big difference?

Super Cruise 80% Off

Saw this offer in the Cadillac app today. I let the Super Cruise subscription run out on my Escalade, but for 85 bucks a year it was a no-brainer not to renew with this deal. Not sure if this got sent to everyone, but may be worth opening up the app to see if you got it.

Looking at 2026 Lyriq Sport but have questions

Looking at 2026 Lyriq Sport

Hi everyone,

We are looking at trading in our Acura TLX for the 2026 Cadillac lyriq sport. The main reason for trading in are TLX is because our commute is about 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours in rush hour traffic in a major city where the drivers are truly aggressive. Will adaptive cruise control handle the highway driving we are aggressive drivers constantly cut off and merge where they shouldn't be? I understand super Cruise works but I travel in express lanes as well and supposedly super Cruise can't handle express lanes. Trying to decide if I take the great deal on a Cadillac lyric or pony up for the Tesla. I don't need hands-free but I suffer from plantar fasciitis and a drive right now is killing me . Thank you

Also, does anyone know which dealers near Chicago or within a few hours are most aggressive with discounts or leases?

2021 ct5v, two days in with it and truly no regrets so far. The speakers, the smoothness in the 10spd, the soft mrc, the torque, truly an upgrade from my 2015 q50 in every aspect.

Why doesn’t Cadillac produce the vehicle we ALL wanted to see in 2026? An Escalade with one giant door 3 mirrors no wheels and no headlights. The future of automotive technology!

Looking to buy a 2013 xts platinum edition 3.6L. Carfax shows about 14k miles without a documented oil change. The cars at 118k miles stay away or just make sure the timing chain is good? I hear thats a problem if you dont change the oil every 3-5k miles

Thanks

Did not realize how bad it was. I bought it in July with an overheating issue, and had it fixed by the beginning of August, and haven't had a ton of time to do little things like this but it's all clean and new now. Probably makes like 15 more horsepower lol.

Check engine light came on already…?

Only had my 2026 ct4 sport for 6 months all was fine except today it came on steady check engine light I got to my location and an hour later it was off, then I get back in the car and it came on again. Any idea what’s going on? Anyone else have problems this early like that’s with your ct? On my app it says there’s a problem with both the transmission system and Air induction system
