Hey y’all, MSU student here. I did shit on an OChem test last week and it’s been making me feel down. Are there any fun, small scale things to do in or near town that don’t require planning? I want to be able to fit it in to my busy schedule.

Hey everyone! I searched the sub first, but didn't see any recent posts covering this, so figured I’d ask around.

I work from home, and while my dog is well-behaved and doesn't need any training or behavioral work, I’m looking to get him out of the house for a couple hours a day, once or twice a week, just so he gets some extra socialization and interaction that I can't give him during the workday.

My top priority is finding a place where safety and management are taken seriously. I really want to vet wherever he goes to make sure staff are actively supervising play groups, matching dogs by temperament, and preventing any unsafe play or injuries.

Does anyone have a daycare in town (or Four Corners/Belgrade area) that you trust completely with your dog? Appreciate any insights or places you'd recommend avoiding! Thanks in advance!

Last week two of my favorite animals graced me with their presence. This time of year, bull Elk move about the forest with zero finesse. They crash through anything that gets in the way of their strong drive to pass their genes on to the next generation. I still heard this guy long after he had vanished into the forest. About the only thing left were their tracks and a fog that hung in the air from their collective condensed breath. 

Conversely, there are few animals that move about as apparently effortlessly as a Red Fox. They often behave more like a feline than a canine, and even have cat-like vertical pupils. They’re not an uncommon creature around these parts, but they are stunningly beautiful.

Looking for a good place to clean my fiancee’s PC and keyboard, he’s has them for some time and I’d love to get them cleaned for him as a gift since he’s always so busy at work and school. Preferably within an hour away from Bozeman! Thank you!

I hope I am wrong, but I am getting the feeling that this winter is going to be a lot like last year. 70 degrees in late October is giving me red flags. My grass is still growing and green!

Anyone else experiencing outage who has Yellowstone fiber? I’m in town and they said they haven’t heard of any other outages. stopped working all the sudden around 11am on monday

EDIT 12:35pm Mon: xmission is aware that there is an outage affecting bozeman. yellowstone fiber wasn’t able to say much but xmission (the isp) is actively trying to fix so it seems like it’s an issue on their side. They said the technician is in process of finding the problem.

2nd edit: it was fixed by 1ish for me. Seems like it was super specific the people effected

Hey all, I'm a meteorologist here in town and recently started a free snow forecast blog, the Cold Smoke Report (coldsmokereport.com). It's mostly Bridger and Big Sky forecasts, plus occasional weather tidbits.

It could use a logo at some point, and I'd much rather have a human-made one. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, just something simple for the site and/or stickers. This cat hangs out a lot around Koch / Wilson area - wondering if anyone knows if he has an owner ? Was considering taking him to the shelter because he has a bad paw injury and infected ear injury but didn’t want to if he already had a home ?

Snowboarding Bridger this February for the 1st so excited!! Are Uber or Lyft service from downtown Bozeman to Bridger a thing and is is consistent/reliable as far as drivers offering it daily? Also if it is available how abundant are the number of drivers that offer that service. Thank you!

We had a favorite groomer for or Yorkie at D-O-G, Amanda, who left that job and stay home to take care of with her children. We haven't found another groomer we like since. Does anyone else have a recommendation for a groomer who's good with Yorkies?

Long shot, But I was wondering if anyone has a program they don't want or a spare from the singing sergeants from either the 15th or 17th? I wasn't able to grab one but really wanted one!

Am I the only one who thinks that MSU should be required to build an overpass for student crossing over Kagey by the stadium? The constant pedestrian traffic has caused huge blockages delaying emergency transport for people trying to get to the hospital. Not to mention the absolutely awful commute for anyone trying to get to the east side of town. The only alternative routes go through residential neighborhoods, which is an issue in itself. Is there a reason this has not been considered? Or is MSU only willing to spend money to make traffic and parking more difficult for literally everyone?

Looking for someone knowledgeable in old sleds that’s willing to help me rebuild an 04 arctic cat. Beer/cash in trade for your knowledge. Ideally someone who can come to me and work on it in my garage. Sled currently does not run.

I'm potentially moving to the area next summer for work, and I was hoping to hear some local perspectives before I commit to anything.

For reference, I've spent my entire life living between the Flathead area and Missoula, so the whole housing crisis stuff isn't really anything new to me. Mainly, I was wondering about local community + infrastructure. How's the biking in town, and how reliable would you say the bus system is? How safe is it to exist as a queer person here compared to somewhere like Kalispell?
